  1. I have found that a mouse and keyboard works superbly. Frankly, I've a hard time with the joystick that I have... :S I couldn't adjust the sensitivity to the sweet spot. So I managed to make due with what I got working; if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm pro at flying just about anything regardless of the lack of a joystick. lol

    • W- full thrust
    • S- what ever lowest thrust is
    • A and D- Left and right pedal respectively
    • Mouse forward- pitch down
    • Mouse back- pitch up
    • Mouse left and right- pitch left and right respectively
    • Mouse thumb button #2- Look around (Sucks I cant look and steer at the same time... :( But it does help for quick glances.)

    Simple and effective.

  2. Did they say the patches themselves won't work on the Steam version, or just that they'll not distribute them via Steam?

The first one, patches will come through, you just cant install any because Steam updates automatically, just wait for them. Though theoretically, you could set it to never update and install the patches manually, maybe? I don't really know about that.:j:

  3. Personally i would like to see an option where words like 'fuck(ing)' and 'goddamn(ed)' are randomly mixed into sentences.

Im not even joking, i love it and in stressful situations i tend to change every word into 'fuck' or something similar. Honestly, i would see myself saying 'Fuck: fuck that fucking fucker!' instead of '4: engage that man'.

Where is an agree button when you need one?

This would be awesome and realistic. If you are getting shot at and or watching your friend's guts fall out in front of you, you are not going to use perfect English like me right now. "Why don't we have a good cup of tea whilst we disembowel our enemies that are trying to do the same to us", or "Fuckin hell! That bastard just killed 2, fuckin' shoot that fuck." which sounds better?. You're sure as shit not going to be speaking the Queen's English. You would be screaming like this guy.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDQCaGlqLFY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDQCaGlqLFY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Though, this would only be cool in the heat of battle and would be quite pointless while standing around on base or stalking in the woods. There should be a "meter" that determines how much this is done based on what's happening. (More action - more swearing.)

  4. RPG's & SMAW's do no damage to helicopters even with direct hits.

I disabled an Mi-24 with a SMAW (at fairly long range). It crashed and sploded quite nicely into a large forested hill. Didn't get the kill though "because it didn't die instantly" even though the pilot/ gunner didn't bail out...

    Edit:

In Chernarus, Elektrozavodsk, the power station's two electricity supply is floating in the air and over the fence a bit.

Will post a picture later when i figure out how.

UPDATE, the radio tower of Skalisty island is yes, floating, and someone please tell me how to do screnshots? Thanks.

Print screen and paste into MS Paint.;)

  5. I fully agree with doing away with the HP system. By all rights the standard RPG-7 rocket is anti-armor, because of the shaped charge stuff that I wont go into. Yet it seems only suited to killing unarmored targets. The system that the one WWII sim uses would be optimal.

If the HP system isn't dropped there need to be two different types of "health", Mechanical (For vehicles) and Medical (For People). Each weapon/ explosive would have a blast radius and "damage" for each type of damage. Lets go back to the RPG-7, the standard rocket would have an extremely small blast radius for mechanical damage, but do a significant amount of it. (Shaped charges only work on contact and one way.) The medical damage radius would be slightly bigger and do less damage. This sounds simple, but it would probably be a pain in the ass to do.

Those are my two cents. But we all agree that ArmA II needs a serious face lift in terms of realism, after all it IS a war sim.
