    ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

That and the ability to do a running landing without exploding or pulling a 9001G stop. Also, holy fucking SHIT! The first running landing vid that popped up for running landing was on Lemnos. GAWD DAMMOT, now I KNOW what I'm missing. :pet5:
  2. Awesome work Rock! Edit: How's Ilha Morrom coming along? :p I've been addicted to it for a while now. The only bad thing is the lack of runways on the Sat map. lol I've found a couple bugs with it too. At grid 200233 there is a random runway light in the middle of the road, at 036075 the road is broken up, and at grid 028055 there are random road segments on the airfield. I'll keep you posted on any more issues I find.

Was that a submerged Khe san I saw on page 54 & 55? :raisebrow:

Rolling wheels for helicopters with toggle brake action/ key. Wheels flex (Rotary and Fixed) and absorb shock, like in cars and tanks. Twin engine aircraft have independent engine damage. (IE. one engine gets hit but the other stays on. Maybe have reduced thrust when one engine is down.) Accurate/working gauges in the cockpit. Not just the MFCDs that only display the artificial horizon/compass. (Artificial horizon, air speed, rotor RPM, vertical speed [very important in avoiding settling with power], working altimeter [MSL & AGL] and compass.) Have the thrust from helicopters be perpendicular to the angle of the rotor disc, not level with the airframe. (http://www.aviastar.org/foto/puma.gif you can see in this pic that the rotors are tilted forward and not perfectly horizontal. RKSL's Puma demonstrates what I mean perfectly.) Keep auto-rotation the same as in Vanilla ArmA2/OA. Add settling with power/vortex ring state, please? Rotor strike does not make the whole aircraft explode, rather, depending on the severity, make the rotors disintegrate and the aircraft completely lose thrust or lose control/wobble. The ability to turn the HUD off completely. Please and thank you. :D
  5. Sexy work UNN, I know a guy who would love this. ;)

    Arma 3 Officially Announced!

What does that have to do with what I said, I never said it wasn't part Mi-28. The Mi-28 doesn't have the infantry carrying space, hence also part Hind. I'm super cereal guys, the Hokum-Havoc-Hind, it's going to kill you ALL!!!

Arma 3 and the real world

So do I. It being scaled down to even 20x17km would be amazing.

Pretty much what he said. I'ma have to save a lot on my lifeguard's wages. :(

    Arma 3 Officially Announced!

I'm not worried at all, and I'm at a loss as to why people are pitching fits about little things. I, like 90% of the community, still have to upgrade just about everything in my computer to play it anyways.

    Arma 3 Officially Announced!

It doesn't mean we're screwed, it just means that the PhysX is going to be done on the CPU, instead of the GPU which is a slight performance hit.

Arma 3 and the real world

Well judging by http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1928651&postcount=3, it looks pretty close to 1:1, but that could just be that one place.

    SimCopter anyone?

You could. It was amazing. This and Soviet Strike for the PS1 made me fall in love with Rotary wing.
  13. I don't doubt it; especially if there's going to be other, not as well funded, factions involved. ;)

Arma 3 and the real world

It looks like the island, if truly 1:1 scale, will be roughly 35x30km of land mass. I'm fucking STOKED for the island and I would pay 60$ for it alone, let alone all of the engine upgrades and new content that come with. Can a BIS Dev confirm the scale of the island, please? :)

Also, this thing is the helicopter in this pic, if anyone has yet to make the connection. http://armaenigma.com/images/8/8f/5thImage.png

    Arma 3 Officially Announced!

I'm surprised that no one caught this, but that Mi-28/Ka-52 thing is also part Hind. DUN DUN DUN!!!
  17. I'm so stoked, so much amazing stuff coming down the pipe.

    Any planes or jets?

A-10 C maybe? :D The A-10 is supposed to be in use for a long time to come; same with the F-35. Hopefully we'll see some more modern eastern aircraft like the PAK-FA OR THE J-20.
  19. Looks awesome Rock, looking forward to spending long hours flying aimlessly through some random island I just downloaded with them. :p

Maybe it's Mac compatibility? And the ball though the wall is a throw back to the old Mac commercial? OYecfV3ubP8

    ArmA 2 site hacked

Not necessarily, it could be an upgrade to the RV3 engine (IE AA2 and OA) that implements those features from VBS 2; IE being able to move around on a moving carrier deck, drive a truck onto a trailer and pull it around. Like in this vid, I suppose. iEJDA7ACi1I Skip to 3:40. Also, render to texture, please?
  22. It's definitely not an RAH-66. The Comanche has a fenestron tail rotor, for starters. Then the horizontal stabilizers are on top of the vertical stabilizer. From what a real life Blackhawk crewchief in my unit says, the drive shaft, of all things, to the tail rotor is definitely from a Blackhawk.

As much as I would love to have ArmA, or some similar Mil sim, on Outerra. It's not happening for a long while, at the very least.

Take on Helicopters IS in the RV engine. BIS has said it before, in an interview. Though, it would be nice to see some of the improvements from ToH implemented in OA or something. :p
