    The end is Nigh

Hi fOsythiaa, It might be good for BI's income, but creating a Fortnite/Apex clone isn't really that clever. Anyway I've disinherited him!

    What next in Vigor ?

I vote for your suggestion eKLaB. Let's introduce a consumable that propels you back in time to when there was a unique game called Vigor. It didn't make much money, but it was different and fun.

    Kill challenges

Kill challenges are designed to promote more aggressive tactics as the game declines into being yet another bog standard shooter. RIP the Vigor we used to know as it evolves into Vignite.

    What next in Vigor ?

Pup, I'm all for introducing new ideas and would broadly welcome 'official' squad themed map/s. But what I want is a map based on 0.8.36948 which would allow us dinosaurs to play as the game as it was originally intended. After all, how in the post apocalyptic world would there be signal locators, comms stations and anything electronic after the sequence of EM pulses brought on by the preceding nuclear Holocaust! Can't be easy to craft transistors, capacitors etc unless your workbench is level 50 or greater!

    MAP CHOICES

Too hard for a casual player ?

Tip from a founder. Do not think loyalty to this game will help develop it into something you will enjoy. This game is unfortunately being driven by accountants not developers. Play random Duo's, if you spawn in close to buildings, loot and get off the map in under 3 minutes or before your teammate gets himself/herself killed. That way you will pick up 250 xp which will increase with each bonus XP boost. Callous I know, but be selfish as almost everyone else currently playing is!

    What next in Vigor ?

Hi ROadki11, It's good that a mod has taken the time to reply. All I would ask is that although most of the world is in lockdown, you try to emphasise with the frustration of what was/is a loyal player base, who see this once great concept being enveloped by the rush to be the same as countless other shooters already out there. There was once an opportunity for BI to create and develop something distinct, but it seems they lacked faith in their own idea, and have let it become a clone. Respect to you for making the effort.

    What next in Vigor ?

One last comment. When I started playing this game in 2018, I used to describe it fondly to friends as Fortnite for grown ups. Indicating that it was more strategic than shooter. If the game continues on it's current trajectory, my grand children will be downloading it! Eldest asked yesterday if I still played it. I put him off, but I don't know for how long..

    What next in Vigor ?

Just added a rant to another thread in support of all the valid comments above. Basic fact is that we are a dying breed. We loved the original survival aspects of looting and only engaging when necessary to build up the shelter, the option to hide, the option to loot after the drop had gone etc etc. That ship has unfortunately sailed.

    If comfirmation was ever required!

Contributors to another well known forum argue that Vigor is not turning into a bog standard looter shooter! Is it me or has anyone noticed how many outlanders in the lobbies have killed 250/500/1000 plus outlanders since stats began. I haven't killed 250 since the game began! Not becoming a clone? Really! The last shelter improvement added was the food boxes, how long ago? Not easy to hide now that this child friendly game introduced the personal signal detector. Every challenge now is kill a number of outlanders with a specific weapon. If that isn't encouraging more engagement then I don't know what is. Playing Duo's and running off the map 3 times a day, added to the log in xp and topped up by my bonuses and donation crates will see me home. Then that's it. Now that I've rediscovered how much fun can be had on Fallout 4 if you don't rescue Preston, my game time is sorted. Long live the Railway! Why not put up a server for version 0.8.36948. Just for the Vigor faithful to play.

    Map Select

Please bring back map select. I want to select the map I want to play. Thank you in advance.

    Throwables Items

I've supported the inclusion of a smoke bomb since shortly after the barred house was introduced. In my initial enthusiasm I tended to make a beeline for it if it was close, but rarely escaped as the wait always allowed at least 2 other outlanders to interfere with my escape. The idea of a smoke grenade was always as an escape tactic, but I suppose it could also become a versatile offensive tactic, possibly by providing cover when flanking another outlander, maybe in conjunction with the PSL.

Adding a new map with wildlife

I'm guessing it will be a trading post of some sort. Maybe trading materials/weapons/consumables for resources. Maybe the sign that has been close to it since the early days is a clue - Survivor Inc.

    Title Solo Teaming

Unfortunately it's still as common as it has always been, if not more so. It won't be stopped by BI because if attracts players from other vaguely similar types of shooter, who are attracted by the lower player count per encounter and are happy to spend money.

    New update daily challenges

Same for me today. Can't recall the actual weapons I needed to use, but I had three challenges and all required me to kill 15 outlanders. In total 45 outlanders for 2 common and 1 gold crate. Based on my kill rate it would take me around 6 months as I have always elected to adopt a stealthy approach. All removed...
  16. Why not keep it as a simple solo survival game. It worked well.

New player - is teaming ok?

That can't be be right. They took away map selection to minimise wait times!! I jest. I'm seeing the same set of players in encounters and longer wait times. I struggle to play more than 5 a day as I no longer look forward to it. The grind is a pain and I'm fed up with it. I much preferred setting my own goals. I don't know what the solution is, but for me I want the choice to either get involved in the season or not. Back to the question. Go and play squad games elsewhere. This is a solo survival scenario (with a Duo's option) and we don't need more teamers. Apologies if I sound a little terse, but this game is on a downward spiral in my view, and it won't be long before I stop playing it.

New player - is teaming ok?

If Vigor turns into that I'll buy BI and sack everyone involved.

    A crown bug I encountered season 3

I fOrsythiaa, I spent 900 crowns on the first season pass and then less than 2 weeks later it was offered on the vigor site for free! Can I contact support for a refund? Only kidding, I know that ship has sailed. Just took the opportunity to add some light hearted humour to the forum.

    Better Servers

It does seem to be an issue that has been a regular problem for outlanders. I would guess that if your SLA is worth anything, the service credits should be rolling in every 30 days. If not, maybe you should renegotiate or change service provider.

Need more things in the Shelter

Hi Boss, Matt, I have to agree with both posts. This season, and for the first time I've only played random duo's. I've found that it tends to lower player density on the maps. Noticed the barred behaviour on around 75% of encounters. I let them run and do my own thing. Also, and more rarely I have witnessed the teamkills. Only yesterday two outlanders in 3 duo lobby on Grontheim killed their partners and teamed up. They clearly assumed that as I only had a knife and my partner a pistol, that we wouldn't be a threat. Made it a most productive encounter for me, but hardly cricket. I too have destroyed crates when it's clear my route off the map is going to be a tricky one. And your correct in my view, game is on a southerly trajectory. I believe BI are looking to appeal to fortnite players and other similar games. The original concept is being well and truly left behind in pursuit of increased income. Which I can understand in some ways. But I will end with this. The original concept which provided a genuine choice of engagement or stealth, the enjoyment of reaching the next shelter upgrade, the chance to loot after the drop had been taken, not knowing how many outlanders were left on the map, a fixed drop point and no superfluous consumables etc etc had built up, and was gently increasing it's player base. And in my view would have continued to attract new players had it enshrined the original, novel concept and continued to add more shelter updates to work for, among other things. Many will say I'm a dinosaur and need to move with the times, but I definitely enjoyed the game more as it was than as it is.

    SAME MAPS!!!

I'd estimate well less than 10% of encounters I've played are boosted genuinely. By that I mean the occasional encounter is boosted by an naked outlander maxing out for whatever reason. I don't count those.

    Favoriting weapons

Good call. A personalized weapon stash whereby you can select a number of favourites would be good. Check boxes next to each weapon in the main stash would allow you to select maybe 10 favourites. When you enter the workbench, the favourites list becomes the default page.

    Making disinfectants instant

I agree. Crafting times for everything needs an overhaul. I think some items should attract reasonable wait times to prevent mass production of 'high value' items, but low cost run of the mill items should be close to, or actually be instant. A low limit queueing facility would be useful.
