Oh. Hmm. Interesting. I though I had narrowed the issue down, but maybe now.

Did you try the procedure I outlined above?

Would you mind taking a moment to try to confirm what I posted above? Specifically, the loot system with "apex structures" = NO results in the game not crashing even though the settings module is still present

I have an error that I can reliably reproduce. Can someone here please confirm, and direct me to the best place to report it? Arma 3 Apex edition (with its various DLC, like helicopters and marksmen) plus the Malden DLC. Start Arma with only these two mods: Ravage version: 0.1.54 CBA version 3.6.1 Start Eden, load Tanoa. Place a Rifleman anywhere. Add the system: Ravage - Settings. Leave default options. Add the system: Ravage - Loot system. Set "Arma3 Apex structures" = Yes Export to single player. Exit Eden. Load the scenario. The map screen loads. Click continue. At this point, Arma crashes. I get: "The instruction at 0x014f9a97 referenced memory at 0xffffffff" Note 1: this also happens on other maps, but since the "apex structures" setting is a requirement, I figured I'd just demonstrate the error on Tanoa. Note 2: setting the first option: "Arma 3 structures" = No does not fix the problem. If "Arma 3 Apex structures" is set to "yes" the game crashes.

Very cool. Thank you. Do you have any advice on triggered bandit camps? I've got the basic one from the documentation working (six guys around a campfire). And I added an ammo box to it. I'd like to do at least the following two things: (1) set up the spawn condition so that there's perhaps a 33% chance of it actually spawning, instead of 100%. (2) I'd like to have the loot in the camp randomized like the way you randomized the player's inventory.

Yes, I would appreciate that, thanks. @haleks, have you thought about having localized ambient zombie/raider systems? It's like the "safe zone" system but the opposite of it. It lets you put in ambient zombies only within a certain radius. The idea would be to have a mission with a safe-ish countryside, but have zombies in towns. Or have raiders only within a few kms of a military base.

Is there a way, on a custom mission, to have the player spawn with a can of food and a bottle of water? Just to make the start a bit easier? Sorry, disregard question. Answer found on this page: http://ravage.wikia.com/wiki/Tools_for_Mission_Makers The documentation is great, by the way. Thank you.

oh wow, that even works for doors. I was looking for that. Thanks! Hey, can someone else confirm that the Ravage system:Horde Placement is bugged and always creates runners, even if you select "walkers"

Yep, I agree. Jumping over walls allows you to put some distance between you and them. I have the mod and it's the only thing keeping me alive. But one thing I'm wondering about is actually losing them - not just delaying the inevitable, but escaping them. It doesn't sound like that's really possible. In DayZ, when you broke line of sight, they would run to the place where they last saw you and then search for you. If you are quiet after breaking line of sight, the zombies would not reacquire you.

Not too late. Thanks. I appreciate it. It sounds like the consensus is that you can't currently lose the zombies. You can climb to spots where they can't reach you, but you can't just escape them.

Is it possible to remap the search function to a key other than the spacebar?

Cool. Thanks for the tips. I'll keep an eye out for your mod.

okay. So basically, you can't lose them?

Yep. I've been climbing on top of buildings and just laying down, then I go make a sandwich or something. But the zombies just stand around waiting. In DayZ, you could break line of sight by for example, turning a corner. Then you run for a bit, say for example, around another corner, and then go silent. You could reliably evade zombies that way. I'd like to learn a similar technique for Ravage zombies. What do people do when they're just starting out and have only the starter pistol? Do they just kill every zombie? Or do they have a method to lose them?

Where's the best place for a newbie to ask for general tips on surviving in Ravage? I'm just playing the included single-player mission (not sure what the difficulty settings are on that), but I'm having a lot of trouble with the zombies. Back on page 1 of this thread, haleks says: Can someone provide a more detailed procedure for that? Basically, my experience so far is that once a zombie is on my tail, I shoot him or I die. I haven't managed to shake one off yet. Thanks.
