Hi All,
I'm currently trying to get Arma 3 to run on a Macbook Pro (OS X) - this seems to be a controversial subject.
I have installed it in Steam and verified the integrity of files but for some reason the game crashes instantly on launch - resulting in a OSX "CrashReporter" window header at the top of the screen and no further info.
I have tried looking for Arma 3 logs in the root directory but I don't think it even gets far enough to create an error log.
I looked in the system logs and found the following when I try to launch Arma 3:
"Failed to connect (view) outlet from (NSApplication) to (NSColorPickerGridView): missing setter or instance variable.
WindowsServer: Surface testing disallowed updates for 10 sequential attempts...
WindowsServer: Surface test allowed updates after 15 attempts
WindowsServer: Surface testing disallowed updates for 10 sequential attempts...
WindowsServer: Surface test allowed updates after 13 attempts"
Any ideas what could be causing this or how to fix this?
I understand that a MacBook Pro /OSX isn't a preferred installation, however I can't see why it wouldn't run on here...
System Specs:
OS: Yosemite 10.10.5
Processor: 2.5Ghz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB / Nvidia GeForce GT750M
Minimum Specs:
OS: OSX Sierra 10.12.5
Processor: Quad core processor (Intel Core i5 4570S, Intel Core i5 4570R)
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics: Metal 2.0 compliant GPU (NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M or better) 1GB +
UPDATE: Just noticed the OS version is too low - will upgrade and see if that fixes it.
In the meantime I will post this in case anyone has any better ideas.
Thanks in advance
