  1. Hey, I'm bringing up this thread because I wanted to do this and this was the top google result, and there was no info online. I eventually figured it out, and I hope this helps others.

     

    Here's how the ammo animation source works, with an example from a belt fed MG that hides bullets as they're fired:

            maxValue=7; //Maximum amount of ammo you want to animate

            unhideValue=0.99/7; //Replace '7' with whatever maximum amount of ammo you want to represent, and 0.99 with 'bullet you want to hide' - 0.01
    };

     

     

    So, the advantage of using 'ammo' over 'revolving' is whereas revolving is based on a fixed maximum magazine size, ammo can be set to whatever maximum amount of ammo you want to have animating - in the case of a belt fed MG, you might only want to have 7 bullets that are shown/hidden, but have 100 and 200 round belts.

  4. Hey folks, I'm gonna be looking to merge in and update the main mod with the new content that's been worked on in the alpha.

    Doing so will involve some class names changing and some content getting switched up that may break existing missions or campaigns.

    The plan for doing this will be to create a new workshop item from the currently live version as a legacy V1 mod that will be not updated. If you want to play a mission that depends on this content and classnames and so on it will be a case of using that version rather than the main regular workshop item.

    Let me know your thoughts/concerns/optimism

  10. So I'm back! I've started up a separate alpha mod to release work as it gets done. Spent the last day or two tidying up a whole bunch of stuff that was almost complete and adding polish to a few bits.

     

    Also now requires Global Mobilisation to run - there's some great GM equipment that is perfect for british forces, and german equipment can act as placeholder until replacement UK gear is found in some cases.

  11. Rather than continuing to release Spearpoint as a monolithic mega-mod, I'm breaking it down to enable faster updates and to give players the customisation to create a set up that suits their group (in the same vein as 3CB and others). This post details the weapons packs of this mod.

    The L2, ubiquitously known as the "Sterling" after its place of manufacture, is a British submachine gun in service with the British Army from 1953 to 1994. Originally developed by George William Patchett during World War II as a replacement for the Sten gun, the Sterling submachine gun enjoyed post-war success both domestically and internationally. It continues to be used by some police and military forces around the world.
