285th Combat Regiment “Chimeras” is a relaxed milsim unit that is based on a fictional United States Army. We are always training to have PVP or COOP missions with other units. There are some people have been together for about six years and have tried everything. We are basically a family and is always willing to expand on that family to others.
We are broken down into 4 different branches, ground (infantry), recon, armored, and aviation. When you enter the unit, everyone will start from the basics and go as a simple rifleman, depending on what role you will be filling for the team. You will need to learn how to communicate with your team and learn hand signals. Recon is a small team that steps off towards the AO and provides us intel for the mission. Armored, usually a 3 man team uses vehicles such as APCs, IFVs, MBTs, light armored vehicles, ect., it all depends on the mission. Aviation works with mainly little birds as transport or CAS. Depending on the mission, we would be using black hawks and chinooks.
Everyone will work from the ground up. For promotions, we follow a point base system where if you show up scheduled events (missions, trainings, coop w/ other units, etc), and show dedication, you can make yourself climb the ranks pretty fast. The first few ranks will be easy to acquire by attending but after NCO, the rest will require tests to test your knowledge.
Our normal scheduled events will be on Wednesday at 1800 (6 PM) EST, Saturday at 1400 (2 PM) EST and Sunday 1300 (1 PM) EST.
