Steam won't launch game, just says "Performing first time setup" then stops

I have figured it out! Navigate to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\YOURGAME\_CommonRedist\ Then you have to search through that folder(could be in a few subfolders) and find something called installscript.vdf and delete it. Your problems will be solved.
