"Busted" Ion PMC advisers and Mexican Federal Police after busting a Narco Safehouse in the suburbs of Juarez. In 2018 the U.S. government ramped up it's efforts in stopping cartel activity near the U.S. border. ION was employed on behalf of the U.S. government to play an advisory role to Mexican Police and Military Units. Furthermore, a detachment of Devgru Member's from Blue Sqadron were also deployed to work with U.S. Border Services and the DEA. Malden Civil War - 2016 "AAN News Special Report - The Battle of La Trinite" In the summer of 2016, the government made an attempt to take back the Island's capital of La Trinite from the rebels. The city had been under constant artillery fire for most of the year and was almost completely encircled by government forces. The rebels that remained in the ruins of the city were hardened fighters who became experts in urban warfare. The government plan was to bombard the city with airstrikes and artillery to soften defenses until the Special Internal Security Forces (A.K.A. "The Death Division) could fight their way into the city. What followed was one of the bloodiest battles of the war. On the ground was AAN news correspondent Chad Mulligan who captured several images of the rebels holding the La Trinite line. Rebel Snipers on the city's outskirts firing at government troops advancing in to the city. A rebel squad moving through an alleyway and over a wall in order to reach the front lines. Several Barricades and clothes lines were set up in order to block the view of snipers. Rebels providing covering fire for their comrades trying to cross the street. Correspondent Chad Mulligan caught the moment one rebel was hit by sniper fire. Several Private Military Contractors from ION observing Government Positions In the nearby hills. ION played a key role in the training and support of rebel fighters and several of the contractors seen here took part in the fighting. Malden Civil War - 2014 "The Saints of Arudy" During the Civil War, several groups of volunteer fighters traveled to Malden in order to fight the nationalist government and give freedom to its people. Among these groups was a small unit known as "Freedom Squad". This unit was made up of former U.S. Special Forces veterans that organized themselves and traveled to Malden in the first year of the conflict. The most notable engagement of "Freedom Squad" was the defense of a church in Arudy. 5 members of the unit defended the church with civilians inside of it for 5 hours killing almost 100 Malden government troops.
