ARMA 3: Conflict '85 - A CUP expansion
REFORGER88 replied to slatts's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Firstly, thank you for replying. Secondly, oh lord yes. You all have hit every check mark on my list of what I'd want out of an M60A3! There's just something about that MERDC I find irresistible EDIT: If...if you wanna make it a helicopter..I won't stop you lol. But I'd much rather have an AH-1 ;D -
ARMA 3: Conflict '85 - A CUP expansion
REFORGER88 replied to slatts's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I can't contain my excitement. I've been waiting for a proper US Army M60A3 for so long. You certainly did not disappoint! Bring on the Red Steel, I can't wait to pit the Patton against them. Edit: I gotta ask, is the M60A3 going to have TTS or just passive night sights? And, if you'll indulge my curiosity, what camouflage schemes are planned? -
Oh boy. I love how quickly such high quality progress has been made. I absolutely can't wait to begin my Able Archer Campaign, and the 83 timeline fits perfectly! The complexities and possibilities of total war in that period fascinate me to no end, and I'm glad to see someone else putting so much effort into a faithful replication of a facet of that.

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
REFORGER88 replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I already acknowledged that it isn't readily apparent. Given RHS is a mod, not the vanilla game, with an aim towards realistically representing the US and RusFed forces, however, I think it's perfectly acceptable. Additionally, the lights are still bound to the L key by default, no? Frankly it seems like a non issue, but to each his own I suppose.- 16550 replies

If you step into a HMMWV or LMTV right now and reach to turn on the lights, you'll find it marked "service drive." Service drive is the proper way to describe the headlights, at least for those US vehicles previously mentioned. It may not be readily apparent, but it is certainly accurate.- 16550 replies

REFORGER88 replied to slatts's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well, would you LRRP at that (pun?). Good to see you're still hard at work, with some fun new classes too. Will that odd picatinny at the bottom of the M14 be removed before release for a more old school look? -
It's a good time to be a Cold War junkie it seems! Hell, the folks up in Pyongyang are even recreating the real world tension! It's nice to see some more proper old school Soviet gear. Am I to understand elements of this are to be rolled into the Soviet Armed Forces mod?

Armed Forces:UK Virtus Body Armour
REFORGER88 replied to mikephoenix's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Don't be down on it being your first attempt, it's really damn good! It's great to see custom cammies like that, the overuse of retexed AAF fatigues gets tiring, and the whole Virtus package you delivered is quality. Very excited to see you active on here again! -
Very interesting, definitely want to keep an eye on this one. I hope it expands to cover infantry somewhere down the line, I'm really trying to push for #FalklandsWar2017 hehe.

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
REFORGER88 replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This is a natural consequence of different mod makers creating content that they have a passionate desire to see realized in the game. Your seemingly implied suggestion/disdain for the fact that not all mod makers in ArmA 3 are working together for some grand goal of complete interoperability, despite the fact that such an endeavour would slow all progress of new content in said mods (CUP and RHS spring to mind given your lament of "different M1A1s") is not necessary. This is generally recognized, I think, and the solution is to simply use what you will and be grateful. Forgive me if my reply seems unduly harsh, frankly I'd like to see fewer notifications pertaining to this particularly tenderized horse.- 16550 replies

If I mistook the tone my apologies as well, I thought there may have been a disconnect in the phrasing. Nonetheless, I think we can all agree the work showcased in the thread shouldn't be eclipsed by this conversation. Peace indeed. On the topic, would the changes needed to make the new ACU (two pen holders instead of three, collar sans hook-loop fastner, flat hook-loop shoulder patches with zipper) and thus OCP, require a major reworking of the current uniform? I'm no modeler so I'm very curious.

While I'm also disappointed that we won't have ACUs in OCP, and maybe something was lost in translation in your reply, that still seems like a fairly rude/ungrateful response to possibly the best made uniform models I've yet seen prepared for Arma 3. The quality of work put into this is staggering.

Ahh I see. I can't say the stickler for accuracy within me likes that too much, but I can respect that decision. And of course, thank you for taking the time to answer me! As always, keep up the hard work.

Clearly you all are hard at work, and those tracks look absolutely lovely. However, I can't help but notice that you've called these M113A2s, when they all seem to have the same rear sponsons/extensions typical of the A3. In all the images and real world examples I've seen, the older M113 tracks had the standard box shape. Just curious!

The word gets thrown around a lot, but what you accomplished in terms of texturing the ACU jacket is perfect. It makes me want to break out my old UCP top and take another look at that silly pattern!

The Sahrani Campaign: Wild Weasel - USMC Aviation
REFORGER88 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
DESCRIPTION: In the first of a planned series of scenarios, take part in the first phase of the US 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's campaign to liberate Sahrani. As a USMC aviator aboard the Khe Sanh LHD, provide support for Marine heli-borne infantry from the cockpit of your AV-8B Harrier II V/STOL aircraft. If you enjoy it, despise it, or have criticisms/comments, please do let me know! In the end my goal is to become a better, more well-rounded mission maker, and to provide fun content to the ArmA community. LINK: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=945008166 FLAVOR TEXT: After the fall of the Soviet Union and the global threat of Communism in the early 1990s, many former puppet states of the Kremlin found themselves without a supervisory global force to guide their development. For the small island nation of Sahrani, this has proven particularly troublesome. In 1993, the Communist government crumbled without Soviet economic and military support. It wasn’t until 2003, when the Sahrani government appealed to the Russian Federation for assistance, that the US began negotiations to provide aid to the island nation. Incensed, the pro-Russian majority in the Northern region of Sahrani attempted to overtake the South, where the seat of government resided. Despite a majority of the Sahrani Defense Force’s assets being stationed in the North, the attempted rebellion was quashed in short order by the US Army’s Rapid Reaction Force. Shortly thereafter, a UN Accord forced the US and Russia both to forgo further intervention in Sahrani’s affairs. In 2008, Russia violates the accords by sending first military equipment and advisors, and then Military Maritime Fleet infantry garrisons to the North. In an effort to dissuade further Russian involvement in Sahrani’s affairs, the UN passes a Resolution forbidding any further involvement with the Sahrani government or risk facing economic sanctions. Not long after these developments, a military junta seizes power from the legitimate government, and the capitol in the South is overrun and demolished by pro-Russian military hardliners. The newly christened Sahrani Liberation Army claims to be in control of Sahrani. It's a very groovy Cold War West Germany, what's to be confused about?

It would have to be scratch built, which means time. Since the US needs a lot of gear and vehicles scratch built compared to the Soviets, I doubt it will come anytime soon. Also, the T-64 would be more appropriate I should think, given the 1980s time period. -

Asking for updates is against forum rules, my friend. General rule of thumb is to keep in mind that modding is a hobby and that it'll be done when it's done. -
Need Help Setting a Task to Destroy a Static Object
REFORGER88 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I have what I am certain is a very simple problem but I can not find a way to solve it. I am relatively new to the use of tasks in Eden Editor mission making, and want to set a task to destroy one of the radar dishes in the RHS AFRF mod. I can set tasks to kill enemy AI just fine, but no matter what I try I can't seem to get a destroy task to work. Despite syncing everything up right and having the destroy task and trigger synced to the radar equipment, destroying the static object never results in the task being completed. If anyone can walk me through how to set up a task like this I would greatly appreciate it! -
This is too cool. The North German Plain location makes for excellent gameplay scenarios with different Warsaw Pact and NATO factions. With the BAOR and friends up there, it isn't limited to just the FRG and US troops. And the 1983 timeline is perfect! I've got some big plans for the Able Archer Campaign.

Hey everybody, I have a question regarding the Serbian PB M-99 vests. I can't seem to find any information on them online, but when exactly do they date back to? With all the lovely Cold War era Soviet gear and vehicles, I've been trying to make a circa 1986 mission set in Chernarus, but I have no LBE-style vests with which to outfit the fledgling CDF.- 16550 replies

REFORGER88 replied to mikephoenix's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Just took a look at the new update. The face mask looks great, and I love the new scrim, it's pretty much perfect and not in need of change! Really impressed with the effort to create a new UBACS. CUP has one that's very nice, but just a touch too wide for your Virtus and the 3cb Ospreys I want to use for missions. Can't wait for this to progress so I can start cranking out some BAF missions on the Queen's Altis hehe
