  1. My dedicated server continues to be plagued with desync/server crashes, typically an hour into a game.

    I've been racking my brain, scouring the forums, etc to determine why. The rpt files won't look out of the ordinary at the time of the crash, yet I can't seem to keep a server up for longer than 2-3 hours without the no message received/red chain "server death".

    Who else is experiencing this? Are you using a virtualized spawning mod like ALiVE or MCC? Is it a bandwidth issue? Is it a memory leak crash?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    @autiger Hey make sure to follow the steps posted by terox,

    also ALiVE and MCC can definetly decrease your performance do you notice any performance loss before the Server crashs?

    Are letting both of the Programms controll the AI at the same time?

  2. Yes you can change that in the waypoint properties.

    @Heroes On what map did you test that and what type of Terrain?

    I feel like that at a night without a full moon or overcast, not using NVGs makes you blind (without tweaking any Settings) and that if I would be Standing in a field

    unable to see anything it's actually quiet good that the same Counts for AI and it should Keep like this.

    I think it's just again a Mission making aspect somehow as a missionmaker you'll have to figure out how to Balance it.

    Campfires, flashlights, flares, Static lights all that Kind of stuff and NVG's arent that superior anymore.

    So always Keep in mind that we are effected the same way if we dont have that gear.

  3. Yeah RHS added most of the TF47 Launchers so its redundant, try to disable TF47 (you will lose the Carl Gustav) and see if it works then.

    JSRS might ba another cause for People not hearing weapons, I don't know how good it works with modded weapons.

    Confirm that everyone has the same mods by mod locking the Server if you haven't done it yet and I think I've seen something like that before in a reddit post.

  4. guys... i really need a suggestion....dunno what to do....suddenly with 1.60 i can no longer make dedicated server to play with team mates....they all desync. please help !

    If down for good does any know if any similar sites ? What i need is the history score of players (used to ban players with too high negative score).

     

    Hey, I know that GameTracker does display score and playtime of players, but I think it won't display for a single session.

    Check it out I guess it's free and admins might be able to see more.

  6. Of course it's not cheating, but where the real military actively seeks to get an advantage over the enemy in real life, in terms of gameplay this might result in less fun scenarios. As I said in my previous post, vehicles illustrates this quite well. The Hunter provides a weapon platfom that is well armored, and that can engage targets at ease out to 1000 meters without having another player supporting the gunner with optics. The only threats against the Hunter is larger caliber rifles and different kinds of AT. Given the Hunters wastly superiour range and it's optical capabilities, it becomes a very strong weapons platform. In a milsim scenario, this requires a mission maker to spawn a lot of enemies to compensate, and even then it's difficult to find a real threat to put it up against that is within reason in terms of power. A helicopter or another vehicle could easily pose a threat, sure... But that rules the vehicle out as a support asset for infantry in most cases.

    Compare this to a Hummer with an H2 or even a technical. A Hummer is armored, sure. But the gunner is exposed, meaning that even small arms fire poses a threat. Further more, lmgs and other common weaponry might pose a risk to the vehicle itself. It's lack of optics also results in shorter engagement ranges, at least if you want to keep mobility. For longer engagements, it requires a seperate operative to guide the gunners fire with the use of binoculars or simular. This requires more finesse, training and coordination, but as a result provides a better sense of achievement.

    Again, there are situations where deploying a Hunter could be feasable, at least in large communities, but it is a huge force multiplier. FLIR only makes it worse.

    first off again its all up to the Mission makers to find the Balance.

    But small arms are also a threat to a Hunter or similar vehicles, you can disable the RCWS really fast, tires and Windows can be destoryed by small arms aswell as grenades and GLs.

    For a Mission maker it's all about correct Placement of enemy Units and the correct time when to attack that type of vehicle. Example Hunter HMG sitting somewhere (most People put it on a hill, so they can expose themselves) killing a couple of the enemys, get a mortart Team let them set up and get them to fire towards the Hunter, really Thermals and Heavy Weapons aren't OP you just Need to know how to Counter them.

Check out while in Eden Editor for the mission, one of the bar Tabs, Attributes and there is I think it's called General and there is a drop down menu for respawn Options after you selected the Option where/when you want to respawn you can tick boxes for Options in case of a dead/respawn and there should be an Option for the spectator view.

    I'll confirm once Im back home and can give you the correct click path for it.

    Some functions are just put there to make it easier, then searching and writing through additional files.

  8. I can not start another topic so I'll put mine here as no one else gets the same error as me. After the 1.60 update I started to get crashes when I start up the game.

    Looks like you are missing files, the first error says that, I assume you are running Apex Sneak Preview, it Needs animations from the Marksmen DLC for the Apex Sneakpreview. (This might be missing files)

    The second says that something with the  Zeus UserInterface is wrong.

    I suggest you to verify your Game files. (Steam Libary > rightclick on A3 > properties > local files > verify intergrity of game files)

  9. You said it switches over to your Speakers of your TV-Screen and back, have you tried to disconnect that device?

    Is it only for the Steam Overlay or also ArmA 3 In-Game sound?

    First you said it's on the game but your example was with a Song in th overlay, please clarify that.

  10. CSAT Fatigues all of them are bugged and still have level 1 armor when it say it doesnt.

    Sorry man but thats not the right spot for that Report, I can't compare at the Moment but CSAT normally always have some protection as CSAT isn't equipped with plate carriers of any type.

  11. Yeah, interesting to see is that it is showing that small windows with the eta. of the download and the launch once ready, that shouldn't apear for mods.

    But if it's a Steam thing I got no clue what is causing them, if everything fails and you continue to have that problem I suggest you to contact the Steam Support.

  12. sound problem DEV refers to the mission. The problem is not reproduced in the original mission BIS. Or appears when you try to load a saved scene from the previous version DEV.

    Agree, I got sound in my Environment. I suggest to wait and see if the next hotfix/update changes stuff.

The sad thing is, for me, I am at this point more afraid flying transport helicopters of our own people, then the same 1-2 guys in the enemy team flying A-10s for 5 hours straight and shooting our choppers down. I choose alternate paths, fly extremely low, that is, if I can make it off the ground. Trolls are smart. I hover usually so I can't be flipped and troops can still get it (the few people that get why I hover instead of being on the ground), but then, they pick that truck to catch me, or another chopper and land on mine to screw my blades up... Why can't they just make an no-mass respawn mode, or a no damage, no flip mechanic or so... Anyway, often times I load my guys up to fly to the city and we get team killed by own aircraft, and trolls even laugh at us. I am more afraid of my own team in this game then the enemy...no joke and no understatement.  :(

    Hey man that happens quiet often in public Servers, either try to find a Server with active admins or less trolls or as someone mentioned before join a closed community (they normally have their own locked Server, the Thing here is that there isint always something going on).

    If you think about joining a unit you might want to check out ArmA 3 Units or something like Armaclans (Carefull some Clans are Spamvoting) or just Google/Enjin.

  14. This may be a bit old-to reply. But when the US Army finally roles out XM-25's with the new 3X site. Are you going to say its cheating. In war you use anything to have an edge. The only reason they stopped with Phosphorous and Napalm was because the bleeding heart liberals complained it was a cruel way to kill someone in combat. You meant to kill off the enemy fast. If anything there should have been "smarter Weapons" in Arma 3. based on the 2035 setting.

    I fully agree and if People have a Problem you can always restrict it so theres no Problem,@2nd ranger for the "Feels liek cheating" yeah there are of Course rifles in the game that are more powerfull over others already from caliber and Barrel length, but also here there are mods that can make it much harder, for example ACE 3 with the Advanced Balistics on full Simulation Level you'll take 3+min to calculate everything,

    being a marksmen and a sniper makes much more fun and you have more Teamwork.
