  1. I do like the ambient boats, dust and sand storms ideas quite a lot. Having dust storms would make for some nice, threatening weather as dust gets kicked up and visibility beyond a few dozen meters gets tricky to see through clearly.

  2. Hey guys, not sure if anyone else has this bug, but someone commented on my Esseker mission talking about a bug or something to do with loot searching not functioning correctly after dying. I haven't yet tested it myself however, but I was wondering if anyone else has had that issue or if it's maybe just some other kind of bug.

  3. Thanks Evil Organ! I hope you don't mind if I add on to that bit about traders.

If you want your traders to look alive but not move from their position, go into animations and select one of the Stand U options. Also, go into waypoints, find the "Hold" waypoint, place it over the unit and select the "forced hold fire" and "careless" options in the two drop-down boxes above unit movement speed. This will stop them from reacting to any enemies or battles.

  4. @lv1234 Are you talking about adding RHSSAF to my mission? I don't mind if you do that, all I ask is that if you post it elsewhere, please leave a link back to my mission so that people know who initially made it, that's all :D

Although I don't know what you mean by trunks. Inventory space?

  5. Wow, you know way more than I do about coding! I need to learn how to use ALIVE, I've heard it's great for mission making and with this next mission, I wouldn't mind having repeatable tasks such as "attack here" or "find this item". Plus, I'd love to use some of the stuff on the Workshop in regards to autonomous machines. What's in is nice, but I'd like to have more Terminator-esque baddies that roam around and cause trouble.

Sort of wish there were more creature mods for Arma 3 actually. I've been wanting to add a supernatural or sci-fi edge to my missions for ages. Being stalked by werewolves in Eastern European forests would be pretty sweet, especially if they were armed with AKs :f:

By the way, I've just updated my Altis mission! With any luck, I've fixed most of the issues with it and save games should work now. It's here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=905326339

  6. Thanks Tourist! I'll revisit the Altis Mission sometime, that should be easy to fix with any luck. Sahrani was a massive mission, but assuming I'm able to reinstall the mods for it, I might be able to get it back up to date. I do know that the Sahrani mission had some mods that updated whilst I was making it, rendering the mission un-editable, so you might need to download the dependencies using PlayWithSix since you can select earlier versions with that that worked.

I still have yet to make tasks in any of my missions. It's more just a note hunt sort of thing for now since I know how to do that. In Sahrani and Altis I always left clues or directions to the next note in the story, and with the storyline in Esseker I did the same, but that's not nearly as long as any of the others from my other missions.

  7. Okay, so I'm working on another mission now. This takes place in the Clafghan map. Zombies are runners and bolters, but there aren't many of them, and the only hostile faction are the Opfor Autonomous machines, the little story I made up being some company that manufacture robots had them go berserk and start killing people and building other bots. The US Army have been deployed and essentially there's a stalemate since they can't find where the robots are coming from, but have more than enough weapons to keep them from leaving the area.

I might fiddle with a few things here and there, maybe up the zombie numbers a little bit. There's also Blufor raiders who are the local Resistance against the machines, and then obviously the renegades who just wander around and get blown up by everyone else.

I think the main issue is going to be balancing hunger and thirst as well as vehicles with the massive map size, and trying to keep it from being too boring. Plus I might work on a few scavenger hunt type 'missions' that you get from notes or something, idk.

  8. Woohoo, new mission! It's the Esseker one I was working on. Not nearly as many notes or storylines as what was in Sahrani or Altis, but I wanted to share anyway, and it does reveal a bit more about the Chimera Corporation if anyone has read the previous notes in my other missions.

If any of you guys see an issue when starting the mission or in-game, or that I've left out a mod somewhere, please let me know here or on Steam and I'll sort it out as fast as I can!

  9. Yeah, I do the same thing Tourist! Had a massive Mad Max inspired Takistan mission where I had essentially added a whole new area in the north and east, then...

...CUP updated, and all of the buildings I had placed were rendered invalid. But oh well, it was a learning experience!

  10. That new RHS update came out at the same time my internet's going slow with the windy weather, and at a time when I wanted to try out my Esseker mission :(

I can't wait for the new update Haleks! Being able to sleep in any bed will alleviate the issue of having to wait through the night, although I rarely had that as an issue since I usually found a bedroll.

I've also been thinking of making a mission based around the machines being a threat more than the zombies are. Kind of like a Terminator Salvation sort of scenario with bandits, an allied resistance and a few sprinting undead.

  11. @FireWalker Could be rads, although I have rad zones, water and rain disabled, so I'm not really sure. Either way, I've upped the vital item count hopefully that should sort that issue out a bit!

As for Esseker, the mission I'm working on takes place in it and it seems to work pretty well for me. The only errors I've experienced have been loot spawning errors from time to time. AI are popping up all over the place where they should be and fighting, as are zombies and wrecks.

  12. Sorry for the double post, just wanted to report a bug. Not sure if it's been reported yet, but I think thirst might be a bit glitchy. I was dying of thirst and just barely got to a water source by the skin of my teeth. I drank stuff, traded, ate food and got my health up to 20, then did something else and went back only to find my health had dropped down to 5 for some reason.

I cheated a bit and got my health up to 50 from buying food and drink, slept for 12 hours and when my guy woke up it was at 5 again. The little area where it says healthy, weak or dying was stuck at dying even when I was at 50 health, too.

  13. @LukasGaming If you're wanting to make sure hand placed vehicles are undamaged, there should be a little box in the vehicles attributes that says enable damage. Uncheck that and I think at least it should stop it taking any more damage, if not stop it from being damaged altogether.

I believe there's also a setting somewhere in the vehicles module, or perhaps another, I can't remember, that allows you to disable hand placed vehicle damage. I'm afraid I can't help you with the loot though.

  14. Hey, quick question; does the RDS civilian pack work with Ravage on its own or will I need to add in support for the clothes and stuff myself?

EDIT: Sorry, that was a total blonde moment on my part. I'm guessing it doesn't since there's no option for it in the loot module. Whoops!

  15. Ok guys, I've found a solution to that Out of Memory error I got and I think some of you got as well? This worked for me, no guarantee it will work for you but it hopefully it does. My comment is on the second page of this thread:

After doing this however, it'll reset all of your settings, all of them. That includes mods like enhanced movement and what not, and I can no longer middle mouse button click to search objects nor does the Ravage holster function work right. I can holster my weapon, but I can't unholster, it sort of stays in my inventory and I can't use the action menu to take it out.

I've got no clue what's causing this out of memory error but it's bloody annoying to say the least. With any luck, someone will find a proper fix for it eventually.

EDIT: I've got a solution to the holster script not working! I moved all of my backed up profile stuff back and went in to the game. Loaded Esseker mission in editor, holster script worked. Not only that, but I'm now able to load up the mission from scenarios without the out of memory error as well! So it looks like there is a solution to this bug!

I am a very happy camper right now!

  16. Alright lads, I've been having this crappy issue as well. I love making missions especially with the Ravage mod, so I did it on Sahrani and Altis with different mods used for both. Got this crappy error a while after moving the mission over to singleplayer and trying to play it there, but loading it up in the editor worked just fine. Talked to people, they thought my RAM was dying (definitely not) and did all the typical tests but found no solution.

Uninstalled arma 3, came back, make Esseker mission only to find that it's back. So I just found this place and followed some advice here: I backed up my profile options (the ones where your missions and editor saves are stored) and deleted everything except Saved folder. I loaded up my mod and moved a few files back and voila, I can now load saves and play missions.

I've got no idea why this is happening or why it doesn't appear to be on anyone else's radar, but that worked for me and hopefully it works for you guys. Whether or not it comes back, I don't know, but that's hopefully a workaround at least.

EDIT: To keep all of your scripts and profile settings intact, after you do all of this and perform whatever test you need to do, delete the newly made profile options and put your backed up profile back in its place. I tried this and I can load up missions now without the out of memory error and I get to keep all of the profile options and anything else important with it.

Another EDIT: So it came back after I did this on the Esseker map I'm making. However, if I load up the mission first in the editor, then exit and start the mission, I can play it in scenarios normally, save, the whole deal. Also, when you're saving your missions remember to save before you export to missions. It might not be one of the culprits, but I did save after I exported and I then had the out of memory error, but didn't when I went back and exported after saving.
