Yeah, I do the same thing Tourist! Had a massive Mad Max inspired Takistan mission where I had essentially added a whole new area in the north and east, then... ...CUP updated, and all of the buildings I had placed were rendered invalid. But oh well, it was a learning experience!

That new RHS update came out at the same time my internet's going slow with the windy weather, and at a time when I wanted to try out my Esseker mission :( I can't wait for the new update Haleks! Being able to sleep in any bed will alleviate the issue of having to wait through the night, although I rarely had that as an issue since I usually found a bedroll. I've also been thinking of making a mission based around the machines being a threat more than the zombies are. Kind of like a Terminator Salvation sort of scenario with bandits, an allied resistance and a few sprinting undead.

@FireWalker Hmm, maybe! I'm not really sure but I guess it's possible. It's interesting to note that it never went below 5 health too, I guess that's where it's capped at?

@FireWalker Could be rads, although I have rad zones, water and rain disabled, so I'm not really sure. Either way, I've upped the vital item count hopefully that should sort that issue out a bit! As for Esseker, the mission I'm working on takes place in it and it seems to work pretty well for me. The only errors I've experienced have been loot spawning errors from time to time. AI are popping up all over the place where they should be and fighting, as are zombies and wrecks.

I had two first aid kits but used them both trying to get to the place with the water. Not sure if I can get more since my character is moving so slowly that it'd take a while.

Sorry for the double post, just wanted to report a bug. Not sure if it's been reported yet, but I think thirst might be a bit glitchy. I was dying of thirst and just barely got to a water source by the skin of my teeth. I drank stuff, traded, ate food and got my health up to 20, then did something else and went back only to find my health had dropped down to 5 for some reason. I cheated a bit and got my health up to 50 from buying food and drink, slept for 12 hours and when my guy woke up it was at 5 again. The little area where it says healthy, weak or dying was stuck at dying even when I was at 50 health, too.

@HeroesandvillainsOSYep, with TPW you can hunt the animals. Goats too, their meat is classified as sheep. You might want to disable some of the house and traffic sounds, civilian and vehicle spawning, but those are easily done in a text file after you install it. Everything else is great and really adds to the immersion.

Nice! Remember TPW's mod if you want to have some goats, sheep and chickens to hunt. Dogs too but they don't anything other than wander around being zombie fodder, poor things.

@LukasGaming If you're wanting to make sure hand placed vehicles are undamaged, there should be a little box in the vehicles attributes that says enable damage. Uncheck that and I think at least it should stop it taking any more damage, if not stop it from being damaged altogether. I believe there's also a setting somewhere in the vehicles module, or perhaps another, I can't remember, that allows you to disable hand placed vehicle damage. I'm afraid I can't help you with the loot though.

Hey, quick question; does the RDS civilian pack work with Ravage on its own or will I need to add in support for the clothes and stuff myself? EDIT: Sorry, that was a total blonde moment on my part. I'm guessing it doesn't since there's no option for it in the loot module. Whoops!

Ok guys, I've found a solution to that Out of Memory error I got and I think some of you got as well? This worked for me, no guarantee it will work for you but it hopefully it does. My comment is on the second page of this thread: After doing this however, it'll reset all of your settings, all of them. That includes mods like enhanced movement and what not, and I can no longer middle mouse button click to search objects nor does the Ravage holster function work right. I can holster my weapon, but I can't unholster, it sort of stays in my inventory and I can't use the action menu to take it out. I've got no clue what's causing this out of memory error but it's bloody annoying to say the least. With any luck, someone will find a proper fix for it eventually. EDIT: I've got a solution to the holster script not working! I moved all of my backed up profile stuff back and went in to the game. Loaded Esseker mission in editor, holster script worked. Not only that, but I'm now able to load up the mission from scenarios without the out of memory error as well! So it looks like there is a solution to this bug! I am a very happy camper right now!

    Memory could not read...

Alright lads, I've been having this crappy issue as well. I love making missions especially with the Ravage mod, so I did it on Sahrani and Altis with different mods used for both. Got this crappy error a while after moving the mission over to singleplayer and trying to play it there, but loading it up in the editor worked just fine. Talked to people, they thought my RAM was dying (definitely not) and did all the typical tests but found no solution. Uninstalled arma 3, came back, make Esseker mission only to find that it's back. So I just found this place and followed some advice here: I backed up my profile options (the ones where your missions and editor saves are stored) and deleted everything except Saved folder. I loaded up my mod and moved a few files back and voila, I can now load saves and play missions. I've got no idea why this is happening or why it doesn't appear to be on anyone else's radar, but that worked for me and hopefully it works for you guys. Whether or not it comes back, I don't know, but that's hopefully a workaround at least. EDIT: To keep all of your scripts and profile settings intact, after you do all of this and perform whatever test you need to do, delete the newly made profile options and put your backed up profile back in its place. I tried this and I can load up missions now without the out of memory error and I get to keep all of the profile options and anything else important with it. Another EDIT: So it came back after I did this on the Esseker map I'm making. However, if I load up the mission first in the editor, then exit and start the mission, I can play it in scenarios normally, save, the whole deal. Also, when you're saving your missions remember to save before you export to missions. It might not be one of the culprits, but I did save after I exported and I then had the out of memory error, but didn't when I went back and exported after saving.

I'd love to see roaming wolf packs in Arma 3, or boars that would actually chase you down and try to gore you to death. The TPW mod works find for animal spawning and other ambience for me, but the one thing I'd like to mess with are more monster mods. Werewolves, mutants, maybe even scary fantasy beasts out of D&D, but just something else to add to the woods and make it a bit spookier, especially at night. And I totally didn't mention werewolves because the Esseker mission I'm working on has small references to supernatural things, no sir no way Also, hasn't the newest DLC added fruit like oranges and pumpkins to Arma 3? I wonder if it would be possible to script something like that into the foliage, like a foraging system or something?

@Gunter Severloh I'll have to test to see if leaflets act like regular intel items. I know items like intel pictures placed in the mission can be scripted to act much like a journal or diary you can pick up. By the way, if anyone wants the script to add notes to their intel items, here it is: data = [this,"RscAttributeDiaryRecord",["Title goes here","Text goes here",""]] call bis_fnc_setServerVariable; Just copy and paste this into your intel item's init and fill in the title and text with whatever you want. This basically adds little intel entries that you just pick up, it's really simple. I believe I got this from somewhere else on these forums but I can't remember where! Whoever it was that posted this originally, thank you!

Oooh! I didn't think of using leaflets! I might have to do that, since I'm using the IDAP in this new mission and they play a supportive role, still bringing supplies and medical treatment to survivors in the Esseker region along with the US military providing security. Hmm, using them like the skillbooks in fallout? That sounds neat!

Thanks for telling me about how that script works Haleks. And darn, that new HoldAddAction looks like it would fit well. Didn't know you could interrupt it either, that'll be useful for when I need to loot on the fly. Nice story Gunter, it's well written! Have you tried experimenting with collectable notes in a mission as well? That's what I've been doing to add some story to my missions, plus it's a nice bit of writing fun.
  17. This looks like a neat script JohnnyBoy, thanks for making this! I'm hoping to add it to my mission and see how well it plays with the other mods I have.

So I was looking around for some kind of wild animal mod for the Esseker mission I'm working on and came across this script: I'm wondering if it will clash with the way TPW spawns dogs? I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Oh! So that's why I keep hearing those exploding sounds when I spawn in. Lol!
  20. Oh my goodness, thanks a lot TPW, you're wonderful! I've got the download, thanks a ton. I swear this community is brilliant, I've never had a negative comment or anything.
  21. Just stopped by to say thanks! I have used this before, but that was years ago when I had no clue where to start with scripts. Heh, I still don't but I'm slowly learning. This works so well on its own, but with mods like Ravage it really helps the survival setting come alive with animals spawning and being able to hunt sheep and chickens in the woods and fields. Just a quick question if it's alright; I'm using the original mod on a mission I made with Ravage, no individual scripts added to the mission file, just TPW itself. I have most ambient sounds inside houses (talking, music etc,) bleed-out and fall disabled but I'd like to disable the chainsaw sounds if that's possible without editing individual scripts files you provided, just the main one that comes with the installation and I'm wondering if that's possible to do? It's mainly because editing the scripts seems so daunting and I don't really know where to start. Thanks again for the work you've put into this! I was a bit disappointed Bohemia hadn't added an Ambient Combat Module like in Arma 2, but you've made this really well and the main TPW.hpp is easy to edit, so thanks for that!

Hey guys, have birds always been in Arma 3? I saw some on Esseker flying through the trees or circling in the air, it looked really pretty but I can't remember seeing them before. Also, man am I glad I came back. I'm very impressed that you can stand on top of vehicles and all objects (I think) now! You can even climb in the back of trucks, it's incredible.
  23. ContheJon

    Ravage

Ah right, thanks Haleks! Doesn't matter too much anyway, so long as it works I'm happy. On a side note, I've managed to get TPW working the way I want it for once. Most ambient sounds apart from the base stuff have been disabled (like talking and vehicles driving in the distance) and ambient chickens, goats and sheep are all spawning in. I can even butcher the chickens for meat which is nice. I recommend TPW's fog system on Esseker, it looks so spooky.

So I think, if I do end up making a new mission, that I'll use Esseker and TPW mod along with RHS. I'll try and ditch the CUP dependencies for this one, maybe I'll do an isla duala one later though. Just a quick question if anyone knows the answer to; when the furniture from the furniture script in TPW spawns in houses, is it normal that the furniture can come in clipping through walls and floors?
