    Official 15th MEU Realism Unit

www.15thmeu.net Looking for a unique ArmA 3 experience? Tired of the playing with the battlefield freaks, the super secret squirrel operations, or over-the-top roleplay realism? Or are you one of the younger players of ArmA that no unit will accept because of your age? If so, check us out at the 15th MEU Realism Unit. Here we strive to strike that delicate balance, taking pride and care in our realistic atmosphere, training, and operations, while remembering that ArmA is a game and we're here to have fun. Founded in 2007, the 15th MEU Realism Unit has strived to provide a quality, immersive gaming experience for over 2500 people; 500 of which are currently actively playing with us. Those members of past and present have earned our Special Operations Capable designation twice over in ArmA 1 and ArmA 2. We are more than a unit, we are a family. A family that enjoys more than just playing games, but also each other's company and we are always opening our arms to new members One of the things that makes the 15th MEU unique, is our new Cadet Corps. The Cadet Corps was founded in 2015 and was created with the purpose to encourage those aged 14-16 to join the unit, to teach them teamwork, and the values of the Marine Corps. By the end of your tour in the Cadet Corps, you will know what it truly means to be a member of the 15th MEU Realism Unit. What can I do to be better

There's a few things you can do to better yourself as a player. When it comes to ground combat, the best thing you can do to better yourself, is run through the games default shooting ranges to better your reaction time and your ability to aim, and get use to the way the game controls. As far as tactics, I could go on for weeks, but here's a few things I've picked up being within a realism unit. 1.) Always. Use. Smoke! I can't stress this enough, smoke grenades, whenever possible, should ALWAYS be used if your not able to make it to cover. Pop one in your running path, and sprint for your next piece of cover as you bound closer to get a clear shot on your target. Smokes are the difference between victory and defeat when it comes to infantry combat. 2.) Cover v.s. Concealment There's an immediate difference between the two. Always look for hard cover such as large trees, rocks, and buildings, to take cover behind. Even something as simple as staying down hill and crouching so your head is covered, then using advanced toggles (Ctrl+WASD) to get JUST enough height to return fire, or lob a grenade at an enemy fireteam, is a a major advantage. The biggest thing to understand is that you need to always be looking for cover, even when not in contact. Make yourself naturally walk to cover as you make your way to your objectives, so if you start taking shots, you already know where to go without scrambling to find a new place. 3.) Don't Panic. Firefights can be stressful. You feel like you have to aim right for them just to feel effective, but Arma is a game that lets you use suppresion to your advantage. Staying behind cover and popping a few sporadic rounds at the general area of an enemy is more then enough to get you where you need to go. The enemy will be suppressed and their rounds will be less accurate. Use smoke to cover one enemy as you lightly engage the other to keep yourself with a clear motive, and out of danger from a flanking enemy that you may not of seen or may not be able to engage from your position. Fog

Hello there! There are many solutions to fixing the fog, including ones that require no external downloads whatsoever. Here's a few that I know about to help you out on your journey for abeautiful arma experience! As suggested before, changing the time of day, as well as the day itself, actually effects lighting and fog as a whole. Each instance of a game follows true and blue earth rotation rules, meaning a clear night one night may be different to a clear night a week later. The first thing that you could do as far as downloads go, is download LHM Glasses, and use tinted goggles. I personally find that aviators make fog look very realistic, and brings a slightly darker tone to the game that enhances it in total. Another option, is using SweetFX to enhance your visuals and make everything look better as a whole. It's generally low usage on your computer and it makes the game look completely different in a very good way. Use the "Official" Download on that site, and look up a few Presets and have your way with it, it's quite intensive and there's a million setup guides out there for you to follow based on what you want your game to look like.
