    [Suggestion] Arma 2 3rd Party DLC for Arma 3

    Have to more than agree with this comment. Sure, the first releases of CUP just ported over and made available A2 public assets in ARMA3 (which was very welcome), but anyone who says that CUP is just A2 quality nowadays hasn't looked at what the team has done in the last couple of years. From adding new assets - the MELB, Leopard II, M60, Burnes's amphibious assets among others - to their pioneering work on magazine wells support to the retexturing and rework of the old assets (particularly for BAF), the team has done a vast amount of work to constantly expand and improve their range of mods. On the Terrains side of things they also continue to improve and expand what is available for mission and map makers - from fully integrated ARMA3 road network support to the addition of winterized assets to the continuing localization of resources to expand their mods to a wider audience. Highly recommend folks keep track of the changelogs both in their published mods and those for the dev branch versions on the Steam Workshop that show what is coming soon And LOL, while Contact may have a tractor that CUP has had for ages, like RDS before it... they do not have this work of art:

    I believe (though willing to be corrected if I have misunderstood) that the issue is that some objects used as debris, especially but not limited to vehicle wrecks have no PhysX and thus the AI cannot detect them and will simply crash into them - and perhaps just get stuck at that position just ramming them gently over and over again as can be seen in the second part of the above video. With an object that does have PhysX, they know it is there and avoid it.

    Excellent list, let's keep tuning and adding. Here's one for you: AI drivers hate can-openers (actually any small object with PhysX I believe) and will avoid them, meaning that if you place them under wrecks then the AI will drive around them improving their ability to navigate down roads with obstacles dramatically - TRUE

    Running ARMA servers (both 2 and 3) I get more, justifiable complaints about AI on ARMA3 than 2... Just from a personal perspective I honestly think AI were more human in ARMA2. But with VCOM and some mission systems I use, the AI can be tamed... but why do mods and mission systems need to? I am a fan boi, got to say... rarely a day that goes by that I am not playing or working on ARMA stuff... but fan boi-dom does not mean that we do not lose the right to comment on the game we love or loved... neither do the 1000 post mafia have a right to tell a poster that he is worth less cause he only has 16 posts so far... They had less than that at some point. Old Man's absence is worrying... But shit like climbing walls, going through windows, proper ballistics, proper medical rather than arcade medical, screwed up vanilla ghillie configs and so much more. Why did a player have to come up with the solution to the AI shooting through fallen static objects? (Fair play to BI, they added the fix, but). Why is naval a second class citizen when we can see the BISIM VBS3 naval videos (I know that they are separate companies, but they are buddies). I'll leave it at that for tonight. Got an early start in the morning

    Given real history would be good to see some modern stuff against the Chinese tbh... I've done the Alien thing with Aliens, Predators, HALO, Star Wars and FAP's aliens in mods already... Very little good mod modern PLA stuff (Yeah, don't use vanilla 2035 stuff pretty much ever, so CSAT does not count... and they are not Chinese, unless they speak Iranian in 2035)

    Bohemia have been very public on not confirming ARMA4 since Jay's tweet... And I worry that they will do ARMA4 but make it sci-fi and fuck the PhysX... ARMA3 almost wasn't the game it was...We won't know until enfusion is fit for purpose for an ARMA game and it is not right now (bear in mind that DZSA is not even fully enfusion - still a mix of enfusion and RV)

    I must have misunderstood... since I only know the game side not the dev side of the graphics stuff: But dedmen did make a start... in a mod... so it is possible (unlike those who have stated it cannot be done in RV Engine... there's a lot of negativity about RV Engine but some seems to be coming from BI btw)
  12. Just add CUP Terrains and you have that and all the old ARMA2 buildings (often upgraded to be enterable - actually that Command HQ in the picture is more enterable in CUP than the enterable one in DayZ SA). Adding the DS Houses and SM Sheds mods gives you even more enterable A2 assets too btw

    This was teased as an expansion... not a spin off bringing in DayZ SA assets, some reskins and a couple of new models. Oh, and a terrain... we just got a better terrain tbh... And we have all the A2, A3 and modder terrains that can be used in any MILSIM (or other modded scenario, Epoch, Exile, Ravage, AntiStasi, Unsung)... After just cancelling a mod in development to do their first Creator DLC (and seeing another mod announce that no fixes will be provided cause they are now in the Creator DLC program) recently you might understand that some of us who are not so prolific on the official forums or discord but run servers and promote and love ARMA might be thinking that BI doesn't understand the community anymore (if they truly ever did, other than the pure MILSIM community...) Yeah... new and original would be western Europe terrain or the US, with building models... Ya know, some work like the devs of the Australia map did in their spare time?

    OId Man DLC? That's what I was expecting TBH... Oh, and the EOL patch for OA... but despite promises I guess we'll never see that released to the stable branch. Oh, and we were promised PBR shaders quite some time ago. Was it Dedmen who did a version independently. Now he works for BI will we get it in ARMA3? Which was Bohemia's original idea for ARMA3 LOL... Guess we will see whether you can do more with a combination of ArmSTALKER and the HALO mods than with this DLC...

    A lot of ODOL52 formatted objects from DayZ SA 0.61 from what I have seen so far... That we were legally prevented from taking to ARMA... Do DayZ owners get a discount? I have been playing Bohemia's games since the release of OFP too, I was 36 then though, and I continue to support them. But I do wonder with mods being killed before release on the workshop (so they can be a Creator DLC) and this whether BI really do care about us?

    Okay. Fan Bois appear... Do not see any MILSIM engine changes in anything I have read. See DayZ structures as assets that we have been *legally* prevented from using, do not see anything that - for a $30 expansion - enhances ARMA more than the many alien mods already out there... Oh, and ROFLed at this: "the people who work at/under Bohemia Interactive are more dedicated and passionate about Arma than anyone else you will ever meet"... Dwarden for sure but... And I am sure that the fan bois will slag me off... but I've been running ARMA2 and ARMA3 servers for years and still will do so (currently 1 A2, 2 A3 and 1DZSA)... I am however allowed to express my opinion on a game I actively promote to my small community and beyond

    LOL... Cool. Now I don't have to use the 0.61 ones 😉 Yep, see the small yellow police station... So, hey, we have all these new assets that we have forbidden you to use for five years and now we're gonna charge you 30 dollars to use them in ARMA3, more than it cost you to buy DayZ.. 🤦‍♂️

    Similar story here, but was older when OFP came out, but it did really change my gaming life... Seem to remember that this was what BI wanted ARMA3 to be before they realized that they would lose their audience... Maybe a foot in the water to see whether they can escape MILSIM? Either way... would we ever get proper naval, proper surface shaders, female characters, removal of the 60 FPS limit and more? I guess not... Peace, Concerned OFP / ArmA Player. Grahame
