    Hey guys, Been working around with trenches on the trench map im currently making, the Ai seems to go through the ditches i made in buldozer ok, but now i want to create a trench object addon that will fill them in. I'm trying trying to learn how to make an object(trench) in arma3 using blender, I'm learning very slowly. And have no idea how to write a config file yet. But one thing I have been wondering, if I make a trench and give it the properties of a dirt hump, will the AI see the trench the same way they see the Dirthump and not the way they see the other static objects? I hope the AI will use it like I demonstrate in these videos. Here is the Ironfront trench, which AI avoid completely And here is a trench filled with dirt humps and the AI moves over them. And I'm also hoping and waiting for the new AI driving feature that lets you disable "collision avoidance" so the tanks can go straight, hopefully there are other features that will help with what i'm trying to do too, If the AI use the trench i'm trying to make like they use the dirt hump it would be much better, could get the AI to clear trenches and tanks to roll over them. Instead of completely avoid them like the other objects.

    Are the advanced features for driving ai being implemented soon? And will the features be implemented for tanks? And what exactly are all the features?
  3. OK worked this time, i made a folder called CUP on my P: drive where i put all the folders, maybe that was the problem. Anyway thanks heeps
  4. I'v tried unpacking the entire CUP core terrain but none of the building work in editor, same with ironfront. Keep getting an error in buldozer
  5. Iv tried, what program do i use? I'v been manually using extractPBO. and it keeps coming up with errors. Can you explain how please
  6. I try import terrain form sat images and get terrain heightmap from open topo but when i create the mapframe it just comes out as jagged spikes. I'v done the atlas tutorial and CAPTNCAPS online tutorial. Now trying to make my own map with imported terrain. Any help? or other tutorials that can help me on my way?
  7. Hey guys Have you guys though of adding a rattle sound when geared units are running? The sounds of there canteens and shovels and other gear rattling as they move .

    Guys really struggling with the height map, trying to use L3DT, but the hills always come out jaggered. I need help with getting and importing the height map.

    I'm not sure I just followed CAPTNCAPS tutorial, used a heightmap from open topography, put it in QGIS, used "Stretch to current extent", then put it in gimp and matched it up with the sat image, exported as terrain.png and exported sat image as png as well and then made a made a mask image. Then made a map frame in Terrain builder. One of them I made came out very hilly whilst the current I tried came out just as spikes. Could you point us in the right way to make a heightmap?
  11. Hey how do i mount a mod (IFA lite) to P: drive. so i can use their buildings in Terrain editor. Had a search but couldn't find how to do it.

    Trying that it only lets me extract one bis file at a time, it won't let me select an entire folder. could you explain a bit more?

    Yeh I'm still a beginer, I can use extract pbo but its tiresome to go through every addon, how can I extract an entire folder?

    Had a few more attempts mucking around with eden editor. Maybe if i create a certain trench object i can fill in the holes and make it seem more realistic, hoping that it works well the ai. Here are a few more videos i took as for the last video the Ironfront trench fills the gap quite well at the middle point of it at least. I'm considering making a trench object addon down the track, once i get the hang of how to make terrain first

  17. Hey guys, made two single player missions for iron front. I used the terrain Pecher which I think makes a decent world war 2 urban terrain.     Hey it would be good to add the disable AI driver features to the mod. That way we can customize how they drive better.

    A question will there be way to tweak the AI drivers so that a tank can drive in a direct straight path even if objects are in their way?

    The AI's ability to see at night needs to be worked on aswell, You can all most walk up to them and kiss them. Would be if there was a way to scale it as well.
  21. Need a way for the ai to see better at night, any help? I made a early morning mission, and it is not pitch black, but the AI seem to think it is so I need a way to make them see better.

    Yeah I have the same trouble that the you pritty much walk up to the AI and they won't react. Be good if there was a way to tweak it.

  25. Simply I want a squad to prone to a waypoint and then stand up(and charge) to the next.
