    The Russian Military goes head-to-head with Ukraine in a land grab over Chernarus. This mission is designed for SP and COOP play. Although single-player play is encouraged, the mission should only be run in LAN or a local hosted server. Features include: CAS, logistical and artillery support Ambient animals and civilian traffic Auto-tasks A shooting range with Virtual Arsenal Vehicle and helicopter refuel and resupply points (provided by Xeno) Multiple bases to choose from for respawn Dynamic weather Zeus Game Master for Admins You are a member of a VDV recon squad for the Russian Armed Forces, tasked with taking Chernarus away from Ukraine. Designed as a long-term persistent campaign, this is a full-map battle, with auto-tasking enabled to help guide you. Mods: CBA* ALiVE* Spyder Addons* RHS USAF* RHS ASRF* RHS GREF* CUP Terrains Core and Maps* Note: * means I'm currently using the Steam Workshop version of the mod. Saving your progress: This mission uses a local saving feature, which is accessed in the esc menu and initiated by the "server save and exit" function. To continue your save, simply act as if you're starting the mission over again and your data will load automatically. To start the mission over, change the PBO name or execute "call ALiVE_fnc_ProfileNameSpaceClear" in the debug menu. This mission should only be played on a local hosted server, even if you're playing alone with AI. If you want to play the mission on a dedicated server, for now, unpack the mission, open the Data module, and change the local saving option to "cloud." Also I’m sure AI will have problems navigating the clutter (amongst other possible issues) but figured it was worth a try porting this over because the map is definitely incredible.

    @-ben- @cbff33 If the map is adding new objects, then we should probably wait and have a new index done. FYI I did test the one cbff33 submitted last night and it works perfectly. But it makes no sense to merge it into master if it’s going to need to be redone this soon. @cbff33 please resubmit the index after this map updates again and you index the map again and we’ll get it into a future ALiVE release.

    Chernarus Redux [WIP Release]

    I have to say I agree. Not that it’s an aesthetically a bad choice, just that BI’s Apex lighting clutter LOD pop-in bug is a special kind of issue that tops my list of biggest complaints with Arma in general. The last version of Chernarus Redux was nearly perfect in this regard. I read on dev branch discussions that BI was working on minimizing this wherever possible. Is there a chance maybe this fixes itself when Tanks releases (please don’t say this fix is already in stable. I haven’t been following too closely)?

    According to the 3CB team the error is fixed on their end, we just need to be patient and wait for an update to their mods.

    I have to say I agree, some missions are designed to go on essentially forever. I love the idea of having to resupply more often, and quite enjoy missions which make this a thing to consider, but please don’t lower the amount the supply assets themselves hold. Imagine having to end a mission simply because a fuel truck ran out of fuel. Or make mission makers have to place an infinite amount of fuel trucks. IMO having to resupply more often = good. Having the resupply assets run out of supplies = bad from a gaming standpoint.

    Ah nice. Some of your steam posts sounded ominous as if you weren’t interested in modding Arma anymore, glad to see you’re still at it! The new Clafghan has me especially exited as well.

    Squad as in grouped AI? AI in your group are not persistent. For them to save, be near a FOB and ungroup them using the Zeus interface.
  12. ALiVE doesn’t handle low level AI behavior. If groups are spawned it has nothing to do with ALiVE. Try without any AI mods or another AI mod that isn’t the one you’re using. If you’re using a headless client also try without. If you aren’t using any of these things, and can see this in an ALiVE and CBA only mission, please post the mission here and list the repro steps.

    Flax's Arma Server Tool (F.A.S.T.)

    Can you give me an example for how to do that? I see two options, one to add mods from the launcher, which takes me to my Arma profile folder in my Documents (I have no idea what to click in this path), and the other which is to add a mod URL. So like, does that mean the website link? I have my workshop mods in !Workshop in my Arma root. Let’s pretend I subscribed to CBA, what do I click on or type? Excellent tool, by the way. For now I just copy pasted my mods to my root and played a few hours with the server and it’s incredible! Did some Liberation and everything is working perfectly and buttery smooth now (local host wasn’t cutting it).

    Can anyone help me with figuring out how to add Steam Workshop mods to the Mods section? The tool recognizes mods in the Arma root automatically, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to add mods mods from the Workshop! folder.

    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

    I’m having an issue with the M1083A1P2 transport truck, where on even a slight incline, it can’t go above 13km per hour, and more severely occasionally shuffles between 13km per hour, back to 0, back to 13, etc if the incline gradually steepens. I’m wondering, is this a bug or perhaps I’m out of the loop on a new feature (such as manual transmissions or something like that)?

    War Room is ceasing in a couple days. Unpack the mission, open it in the editor, open the Data module and set “cloud” to “local.” Now when you save in the esc menu it will save locally to your profile.

    I don’t do a ton of combined arms stuff, so I’m sure I’m just not understanding this bit in the changelog, but does this mean it’s impossible to lock target in SP with AI now? I’m assuming the target needs to be lazed? How would a solo player use laser guided bombs with LOAL if they can’t manually lock themselves?

    The ALiVE crash has been fixed internally, we’re just waiting on a build. Sorry no ETA for that at this time. We’re hoping it will be soon but no promises.

    Blackdog’s mission doesn’t have persistence I don’t think. Although the title does :). I haven’t tried it (this would be why), but a guy asked about it and he replied there was no saving. Obviously don’t take my word on it but his reply on it is in the thread. Hopefully he gets it sorted because it does sound cool.
  22. Don’t worry about trying to resolve any of these issues yourself. Honestly I hate to sound like a broken record but the very best thing you can do is make a simple mission we can test. Then these things can be fixed. Otherwise there’s not much anyone can do. No neither of these things should be happening.

    I’ve used some portions of TPW in some ALiVE missions in the past, but not this specific mission, and not the specific parts of TPW you’re asking about. It’s probably ok to try it. Though I personally wouldn’t use his civs (they won’t have the insurgency code) so don’t use that. Animals would probably be ok (you can disable Spyder’s in his ambience module if need be if you feel like unpacking my mission and making editor changes). HUD is probably fine too, I don’t see why not. I’m not sure what Fall is, but yeah, go nuts and see if it all works and is fun. TPW does amazing work, so fingers crossed you have a good time with it.
  24. Am i missing the mission file? I don’t see it here or on the main site page. Did you mean to post this in the server recruitment area?
  25. It’s possible but I’ve had PM’s about this IED’s not detonating even without ACE. Just need to see it first hand.
