Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?

Exacly as @teabaggingpeople says. Vudget... how much money you want to spend? For GPU - dont get R280. I have R9 270oc from gigabyte and its maybe enough but you could see its on its edge of possibilities. Aim much higher with GPU, you dont need to buy all at once. R9 380 is better, and if you wont need this asap, collect your money and get it from MSI. But arma is (for now) CPU intensive, specially in terms of #Ghz per core. Tahe MINIMAL 3,5Ghz i5 - i have it and fro 23-50FPS you can enjoy battles (large battles). I didnt tested AMD cpu's but heard they work pretty wel in armas. I will buy new PC in december propably, and will use my friend scheme: R9 480 Gaming X (4gb, from MSI) i7 6700K 4Ghz (x4, good for overclocking) And ddr4 ram 2300Mhz At friend pc's arma is handling at stable 40-50FPS, but he use frame limiter, so screen is not so "tearing", but other games runs at stable 60 FPS at ultra settings. So in case of CPU you can experiment with AMD, but best - find someone who have one, ask him how's arma 3 handle it. -

Yeah, but for new players just joined arma , how to explain this..... Its like Tommy Vercedi (or whatever his name was)or Niko Bellic would appear in GTA V DLC for Free. Would you want him to be gay?

Im very disapointed also, but what can we do? We can write critics that will not be listened beacuse only argument used here "its for free". For free or not, this will require time, resources, people to maintain this island. We (Roadkill, Robert hammer) just want this island will be something new, with old climatic that everyone could feel, even when he didnt played OFP. It would be fantastic to discover old war stories all over the Malden 50 years later. Stratis and Altis extension is just what people can download FOR FREE right now from armachollic. Off course, there are remakes of MAlden in 1:1 with better textures, but there are not Malden 2035 - its very original idea, and we simply dont like to watch how its wasted.

It can also be next spike to the coffin in performance case. You cant see the diference... Sawn around 40 of hunters far away, move fast in their direction, move camera from diferent direction - to their direction. All LOD's need to be loaded very fast. Besides that Hunter is vehicle that need interior, beacuse it have windows. In Merkava there is already interior - in infantry compartment. Look how simply are they done. More polygons, full HD textures (beacuse people will complain about low quality textures....) = more calculations for CPU and GPU. There is some reason behind fact, the BW mod dint maked tanks interiors - they are much more complicated than infantry compartment in merkava or car interior = much more polygons, and there are still engine limitations in polygons case. PS: its a question of time when people will want PIP in this interiors... The PIP are officially FPS killer in arma.

People, do you know how tank interior will slow your performance? You will complain endlessly about low fps. Please no to tank interiors. Only for driver, something like "black box" with driver inside and possibility to look left, right, and few degree up and down (through periscopes). Its totally enough. Tanks with interior is much more complicated model, much more VRAM, CPU will be required to render this model fast. Stuttering will back, all complainers will back....

I thing its sensless, as most of time player will use optics, so who the hell need interior :P Maybe driver station, so he could look around if he have 3 vision ports, but crew compartment for rest of crew is useless. More tanks..... yeah, who need them? Already there are mods like yours, and other delivering Leo's T-72's, T-90's, T-80's, Abramses, and all kind of Apc's.... So i'm signing under RedPhoenix post, do not create interiors. Not to mention about performance looses.....

This wounding is broken in base game, not ace - in vanilla they never healing themselves, i can scream "Injured!" for hour or longer, and noone cares. Also when i walkup to medic, there is no action "heal" or anything. I'm pretty dissapinted they left game by breaking bacis feature. Can i use 1.62 for ACE 1.14?

So the newest Ace and acex version is requiring corepatch or stable release of arma OA? I cant find any info on this.

Beacuse i saw how it working and its possible, sam as mad cheese writed Everything is possible, but people need to want. Right now correcting the cover behavior for Ai just to go behind solid cover and use 1 of 3 stances may be problematic, enabling rest of stances (same as player can use) will produce next issue - Ai propably will get into loop and switch between 3 stances. Automatic cover adjust their stance and animation (same as in SMK). System may be available only for ai as i writed. I have great schematis from A to Z how to get it working a'la fsm, but don know hot to make my thing into the code, i'm not modder. https://goo.gl/photos/GnmDzuH5GphfbFyw6 For performance it could get limit for cover seek for Ai - 1 cover for each enemy direction for example.

Modern conflict warfare Russia, Iran, US, Poland (eventually Belarus, Ukraine). All vehicles keeping its real shapes and you got best selling product. But please, if you gonna place blufor campaign (usa off course) place Opfor too, how many times and games we must play americans......

As of CCIP i think it should be integrated into vehicle HUD (into displays). Right now when (for example) we ar eplaying with friend totally without HUD, crosshairs, in very hardcore game mode, there is allways CCIP. We cannot get rid of it. This dont look good, dont work good, as i need to aim it allways further than target is.

Covers are second priority off course but problem with actuall AI covering - they don know how to get to some covers, while on new system they could walk close to it, and rest would be done automaticly. Healing is something i personally never understand in this game..... Rearming (AI case) is something what someone wanted to put in this game, and even he started to doing it, but for unknown reason he stopped, and we have unfinished "feature". "Where are you" should be name of next arma part :P Back to cover topic - imagine situation - walking with team, hear fireshots, Ai start to scan area for cover, move in the direction of closest one, he is moving as close cover as he can, and when he is 3 or 4M from it, animation of getting behind cover is played, and Ai is behind cover. Main factor of cover selection should be Direction of Enemy, and distance to cover, thats all. Now they just phrone and waiting to die. Off course stance change for AI is good too, but first they need to get behind cover (to 100%, now they do this in ~70%). Usually it ends they stand uncovered - they are behind the fence, but uncovered to enemy they was hiding from :)

So in the end i say - this would be mostly for Ai if not the only, beacuse player have much more stance options (positions), hell, he can even sit :P Only missing position is "Slav squat" :D

So you dont know the climat it had. That was Soviet VS USA, balkans-like terrority, all was perfectly composed. Maybe there was too few buildings, but hey, look what PC's people had back then. I never forget my askings loop to brother "why this is working so slow.....?!" :) Just like today! :D :P

I'm just tired of (when action start) ordering whole squad, one by one where to stand, Ai should choose automaticly - off course they do it - but i wouldnt ask for such cover system if current ai cover searching method would be good. If new cover system would work automaticly - you walk to cover (close to it) and pushing right key - your stance and proper moves are done automaticly - that woul be best for AI aspect - right now they hide behind road signs (jeez) and leaning left and right. With new cover system that would be impossible, beacuse it would not detect sign as cover (minimal area needed to threat place as cover as next condition). I know VBS i wanted to buy it, but Bohemia Sim. wont let me, its only for army (they say). About Enhanced Movement - Bad benson already tried to apply this to AI with success, but way of Ai using this was more than bad.....
