I wasn't having any luck getting the barrier to animate. Does anyone know exactly how to make the barrier come down, and make the red lights come on?

Just a heads up for anyone that is considering buying Contact. It's on sale in a bundle with all the Arma DLC together. If you're like me, and you already own all the other DLCs, the cost of the bundle on Steam is $18.89 USD, which means you can buy the Contact expansion for $18.89 USD. I think with the amount of content in this expansion, that is about what it's worth. However, if you just buy the Contact expansion alone, it's $25.19 So even if you already own all the other DLCs, buy the bundle on Steam, you'll save 25% off of the Contact expansion.

I agree, as a mission maker, it would be good to know what is, and isn't premium content so you can make your mission accordingly. Maybe make the icon of the premium content a different color, or something like that.

Yes, but as it's been pointed out by many people on here already, arma as it exists now is not possible on a console. If arma 4 is going to be on console, it will be a different game. It's not just the limitations of the hardware/software of consoles, its that the game play of arma is very different from what appeals to the console market currently. It wouldn't make any sense to move arma to consoles, the game would have little appeal to that market. So, it would be pointless to move arma to console unless they change the game play to have more appeal to that market. Now, does my above statement of, "I just can't see how you could balance the game to maintain the current community, and attract interest from the average console player" make more sense? I can speak for myself, I expect Arma 4 to have everything Arma 3 has, and include new features. Removing, or greatly reducing features to make arma compatible with consoles is very unappealing to me (likely a deal breaker). Making the game play of arma more arcade like to appeal to the console market is a complete deal breaker for me, and I can unequivocally say I would not buy the game. BI is going to have to decide who they want to make the next arma for, the current community, or the console market. In my opinion, it will be very difficult to appeal to both, and an attempt to "split the baby" could very well lead to less sales, not more.

It is hard to imagine Arma 4 being on console, and being able to maintain the core of the Arma series, mission editing, modding, scripting in the way we know them to exist today. It would almost certainly be a very different game. I just can't see how you could balance the game to maintain the current community, and attract interest from the average console player. BI is going to have to decide if they want to continue to market to the current community, or go after the average console player, they can't appease both.

I've occasionally had that issue for a while now on stable, so it's not new, or exclusive to the Promet SG.

I begged BI to fix the ridiculous looking suppressors back when Apex was on Dev. They did eventually make properly sized suppressors for the Spar 16 guns. I don't know if it was my whining that made them decide to make the proper suppressors or not, but I like to think so. 😉 But in all seriousness, it's was past time to fix the suppressors that are literally twice the size as they should be.

It may be viewed as cynical by some, but it's a pretty realistic possibility. I of course could be wrong, but the game is six years old, and the response to the aliens theme has been mixed at best. I too am also happy to see a new extended promotion. It doesn't change my mind on this expansion, but it's good to see, and people can see some of the non-alien content, which can only help with sales.

I agree, this is probably a much better promotion for the expansion that the previous vague one that emphasized aliens. I like that they are showing the content in a more in depth way.

Interesting that they are changing how they are promoting the new "expansion". Not really surprising, people just don't seem all that interested in having aliens in Arma. With such an abrupt change in promotion, I can't help but wonder if this means that sales haven't been all that strong, and they need to promote the expansion differently. An eight minute video promoting the non-alien content would suggest that may well be the case.

Yes, I hear they have a full navy with moving aircraft carriers, and complete interiors....we just don't get it ingame. 😉

This is why you should read the reviews, and watch video of a DLC before buying. All the issues with this DLC were well documented within a couple of days of the release. -

Thanks Lexx. I really liked your campaign, and loved the story line, I wanted more, so I was inspired to make something. I love how your Dunes terrain has almost nothing on it, it's a blank canvas. I had so much fun placing structures, and objects creating the little settlements/towns in my mission. The little scene with he device was added at the last minute, it just seemed right, and added another little piece to the overall story. -
Will these have a battery that will run down? An option to put a battery, and or range limit on them may be a good idea. Anyway, great concept, everything looks pretty good so far.

Please fix the loiter waypoint height!!!

Why isn't there a loiter altitude for 1000 meters, it doesn't make any sense. As mentioned, 2000 meter altitude is too high for many people view distance. -

Thanks buddy. I added the scene with the device at the last minute, I'm glad I did, it adds a little more to the overall story. You're right, maybe put in, To be continued at the end. I'm guessing nobody will get the little Easter egg at the very end.
