  1. Ive noticed that when I create 2 squads and have both squad leaders as playable, the AI commanding the other squad is completely incompetent. Most of the time, when I switch from one team leader to the other, (the other team leader becomes AI controlled) the AI issues commands to his squad that I do not want. If I am close to an enemy position with contacts in sight, I cannot switch to the other squad without the AI squad leader being an idiot and ordering his team out of stealth mode and hold fire (which I had ordered them into when I had control) to full combat mode and open fire. My question is, how do I code a squad leader or an entire squad so that when I switch to another unit, that squad will not change their stance, behavior, firing mode etc from what I had ordered them into. How do you disable an AI from automatically commanding his squad?

    Trigger, eject

Hi, Im not sure if this is the right location to be posting this, but I am trying to write a trigger that would really help water gameplay. When you have AI units as SDV's and speedboats and you command your troops to "disembark", the ai unit controlling the boat/SDV will automatically move to land to drop the cargo. However, when the boat/SDV is an empty object and I am the one driving it, I can order my men out no problem, they will eject into the water. This makes a stealth mission impossible if I an not driving the vehicle because an AI boat or SDV will always move to the shore (and to add insult to injury, will usually get stuck there) My question is: how do I make a trigger so that when the AI boat or SDV passes through the trigger area, all cargo is automatically ejected? I am very bad with mission editor, I almost exclusively use MCC Sandbox, so I have no idea how to write the code...can someone type out exactly what they think the code on this trigger would be? Many thanks.

Player and Friendly AI.. spotting enemies

    Works perfectly now. Thanks @haleks.
  4. I play SP alot, and i recently got a new hard drive, so i needed to download steam and install Arma 3 again (thank God all the Mods and saved missions were backed-up). One thing i have noticed however, is the player's and friendly AI's ability to spot targets. It has dramatically reduced the effectiveness of a squad. I did a test where i commanded a 3 man fire team, and i placed an enemy unit 300meters away. There was a clear line of sight, no trees or anything blocking the view. When i set my scope on the target, the player i am controlling no longer calls out the target and reports to the AI. E.g. my player used to state, "contact, 300 meters north" automatically (or something like that, i am paraphrasing). For some reason it is not doing this, and as a result, i cannot use the "engage" function in the main AI command menu. Also previously, whenever my player called out a target, all of the AI's that had a line of sight would immediately turn and focus on that target. Since that it not happening, they just remain standing, completely oblivious to danger, and ususally facing the wrong direction. This is also occurring with the AI units. They are simply not detecting anything. Even when i direct them to look directly at an enemy using "command watch" (tab-alt key). they still are not detecting anything. Its only when they get <150meters do they start detecting. (they used to be able to spot enemies as far away as 500 meters when they were facing that direction and had a line of sight) Before i replaced my hard drive, this was never an issue. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it? Cheers.
