All mods that are available on steam are loaded that way, the others I downloaded from your links in the first post.  I noticed that it looks like the 2nd mission is the only one available in the campaign menu?  Could that be the problem?

perhaps try using a different launcher like playwithsix?

  2. Wow, another awesome soviet afeghan war mission as the previous one, I´m craving for the third, forth, whichever many missions this campaign is up to =)

It is a bit long (had to play it on 2 nights), but it has to be as it is a recreation of a war account so it only adds to this wonderful campaign... keep it coming Ted_hou, you don´t cease to amaze us =)

BTW, the last RHS update added a lot of good ol´soviet gear and uniforms, is VTN still quitessential for this campaign? I don´t mind, but keeping it light could be more appealling to the arma3 audience (as Wiki said, all those requirements disincourage some players, but if would break the immersion, so be leave it as it is...)

    Spasibo! ;D

I agree, VTN is really big, messes with ace functions and is kind of redundant since RHS has more stuff now. That said, VTN isnt a dealbreaker, its just kind of annoying to download and might dissuade some new folks from getting into this campagin

  3. Hmm... That's strange. I've set it up so that essential teammates can only be damaged by player. Are you sure it wasn't friendly fire? Otherwise are you using any additional mods?

I guess using ACE messed with the scripting. when they die, it has a message that says "Sargent (main character or whatever his name was) couldn't live with the fact that his friends died under his command or something like that"

  4. Well, need to know how good your work is (even though I loved your other work) before doNloadibg this amount of addons

its just as good as his other campaigns.  My only complaint is that in mission 2 the "comrades cannot die" condition is too harsh since they keep getting randomly whacked by taliban and succeeding on that condition seems to be a lot of chance.  My walkthrough wouldn't be very good since I had to reload save points because of that but otherwise its very good.

  5. I have to admit that initially I was skeptical for the need for another map but the mountains of tora bora are really nice looking

everything seems to work functionally for me on my end.  Its a really tough mission and the part about comrades can't die mission failure condition made a lot of my failures really random as someone would die and it would be mission over.

  6. My list of things to do so far:

    1. Double size of map from 10x10 km to 20x20km

    2. Learn how to create the trees , bushes, other objects for the map including the Rhodesian Infantry soldiers.

    3. Find what weapons and vehicles were used in '66 and see if I can recreate them for the mod

    4. I have 10 sounds I am using for the mod during the day. I need to create sounds for the african bush at night which sound different. Research using africam.

Peter Baxter's Sealous scouts: Rhodesian counter-Insurgency book is pretty good for research on the rhodesian armed forces.  I can post a pdf if you want.

  7. Hi guys!

    Two big announcements!

1- I decided to abort the plan to release this campaign summer 2016.

I will release chapters when a chapter is ready.

    1st chapter (10 missions) release: january 15th 2016.

    2- I change addons required.

You will need only the CUP addon (core, terrain, weapon, vehicles and units): http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=583575232

So, I keep my patreon page if you want to support the project and receive chapters and missions in early access: https://www.patreon.com/HeliosArmA?ty=h

    Have fun!!!

great news! keep up the good work!  Really would love to see some of your other works translated into english too!

  8. Flatbear,

sure, absolutely, the MELB version of the mission is completely current. the only change between that one and v.2.0 is the addition of the Sling Load training component and the fact that version 2.0 is vanilla units.

    so, yes, the MELB version is fine. as far as Steam Workshop goes, version 2.0 is on the workshop - check here;

Theopolus AKA JESTER at Battleboys ArmA

ah ok thanks, and where do we put the downloaded folder? does it go in the arma missions folder? there isnt a .pbo in it.

  9. IIRC Massi's weapon pack and TRYK mods are both req'd. TBH I'd prefer if no mods were required, and the hiddenselection M81 camo for the nato uniform was used. It achieves the same effect but leaves it open for players to use their own mods as well

yeah I like the way that Ted_hou does it in his campaigns where mods are optional, but if you opt to have mods like rh weapons and rhs, then those weapons will appear in the missions.

    also RHS>massi weapons
