ACE 1.5 Beta (Advanced Combat Environment)

The semi-humorous answer would be to practice more. I have little problem hitting man-size targets with a M-24 at 500m and can hit >80% at 1000m without too much effort - wind blowing at moderate levels like most missions use. The trick is to do the same as real marksmen do and learn to read the wind - by default it shifts around fairly often and sometimes quite radically. I use 1000m because that is the benchmark for military snipers - distances further than that are concidered to be extraordinary shots.

To effect the dispersion rate would require altering the weapons configuration - not easy and not portable ( would invalidate the .pbo signatures ). However, you can turn off the wind in your own mission via the environment settings accessed at the top section of the editing screen.

well i have wind drift set to 0, but it still blows, theres supposed to be a [setwind 0,0] or something like that but where should it go?

so I made a ticket, no one is responding, I haven't found any fix myself, and I'm still getting these missing module errors.

i also got the error to reappear it says: "no entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgMagazines.ACE_Earplugs'."

had to take a photo of it, since who would want to take screenshots lol ¬¬

Please add your RPT to the ticket.

Otherwise all we can do is guess what's going wrong.

But it seems you have a completely messed up ACE install.

WHY IS ACE SUCKING SO MUCH NOW?

all weapons have a recoil like a HMG zeroing for apache is not there.

Zeroing is at all been relpaced with that ace stuff.

and when firing an AGS 30 you always have a Super lighting by every shot.

ah, thanks, i just got linked to that page and put it there, no idea where the rpt file is but ill have a browse on google for it's location.

as for the install, it has been working fine until I used six updater to update things, and now i am getting all these issues, so can you elaborate as to how six might have messed up my installs?

Yep, that seems to work.

Just a quick question - Does ACE use its magazine swapping system to get proper ballistics or just to allow firing of non-SD ammo from SD weapons and getting normal ballistics with some suppression? At first I was sure it was also used to make weapons of different barrel lengths and the likes have the appropriate ballistics, but looking more carefully it seems that when I actually take an SD weapon with non-SD ammo my magazines clearly get swapped, while they don't seem to get swapped when I switch from M4A1 to M16A4. Is the magazine swapping taking place even for those situations and I'm just missing it, or is it simply not there?

No need for mag swapping if you switch from loud M4 to M16. But the muzzle velocity will be changed automagically. See: http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/ace_sys_mv

Mag swapping is usually done to change the AI's ability to detect shots fired from suppressed weapons using supersonic ammo.

That's why I don't care much for it, it seems like the updates are far too often and their preferred method is the six-updater rather than addonsync and it seems there are always problems with the version sync.

Can someone work some of that out?

Is it possible to autoadjust / autorange the canon of the apache somewhow?

Means, if i am far away, that i dont have to aim obove the actual target, but just aim directly at it?

Oh, thx, wasn't aware ACE actually made velocity depend on weapon without actually needing to use the magazine swapping system.

is there not a normal DL that people can get? this way of geting the mod is alot of hassle im sure it turns people off from geting it.
