British 3 Rifle Infantry MTP

Some good pictures there akd42; some nice inspiration for Stalker.

Interestingly in the 8th picture, one of the soldiers is equipped with the L22A2 Carbine, Haven't really seen many pictures of it in deployments.......

Aircrew use them a lot, but I've seen them used by RMP around Bastion, ambulance crews, dog handlers and all sorts of other roles that require working from vehicles, or whereby a rifle is secondary to other specialist equipment they carry for their role.

IIRC the blokes in that pic are from the Counter-IED Task Force.

They're pretty common on counter-piracy deployments with Royal Navy/Royal Marines maritime boarding parties as well.

Fair one, didn't doubt that they ain't used, just saying that I've not seen many pictures of them being used. Nice to see something new.....

@akd42, I think they are Dutch troops looking at the camo they are wearing.

Thanks for putting together all those pics, will be a great help :)

He's the only one in DCUs I saw in those pics, and with what looks like an SMLE Mk III, I can't imagine he is ISAF. My guess is Afghan interpreter. Pretty badass running around Afghanistan with an old Enfield.

Hmm, I thought they guy infront was wearing 3 colour DCUs? Certainly not wearing a Mk7/6.

Would be pretty badass going round afghanistan with the old enfield lol

You are correct. Also, closer guy has an RPG backpack, so I'm thinking definitely ANA, but an attached unit. Looks like maybe Afghan flag on arm, too.

Just an update for everyone, earlier I PM'd Marek about tracing the OA model bits that I then used on my units just to get an official say on whether what I was doing was allowed. As you can see BIS are trying to layout where everyone stands with the EULA. Marek said its probably best to hold off a release until they have finalized any new plans/license systems they want to put in place (after gamescom).

So rather than revert back to my older models and start work on them I'm going to wait to see how this plays out, if it looks like I'll still need to go back to my old models then fair enough but I guess we'll see.

good luck mate. I really hope all will be solved, so your work doesn't go to waste.

Well like i said, if it turns out that I won't be able to use the OA traced body armour etc then I'll just go back to the current release models.

And anyway, the experience of weighting the whole thing will probably come in handy in the future. :)

Found a bit of time yesterday and re-did the helmet strap for my units, also made small changes to the Mk7 itself but its pretty hard to notice any of the changes just by looking at it, basically made it slighly lower in the head of the man, pulled the front brow of the helmet up a but and made the inside slightly thicker. Anyway...

Matt, looking good, as usual mate, keep it up. Finally had a chance to play with the current units on release, they're mega!

Small thing with that new helmet though, it's just me being uber-nit picky, the mic on the PRR should be over the chin-strap, not between the strap and the cheek.

Anyway, good to see you're still working on these, keep it up.

Cheers for the advice mate, I was using this and this as reference for the PRR and helmet strap so dunno if that is common or not whats in the pictures. (and I don't mean Prince Charles either lol!)

should it come out under the strap like my epic drawing below?

The red bit is the PRR...

Yeah, fair one with the reference phot, was just going by how I wear it. I'm sure you've got far bigger things to work on than a chinstrap! As for your drawing, yep, that's what I meant.

Ok cool, well the plan is to mix things up a bit so I'll do a bit of both for sure :)

You will notice his chin strap looks a mess it needs to be done up tight and get them flapy bits taped up! What a crow bag :icon_biggrin:

The mic should be on the outside of the chin strap like a proper soldier, but then it is only a Navy guy! :)

Although not an update on my infantry, thought I might as well post pics of the stuff I do when I'm bored...

First and foremost, its incredibly inaccurate, yes it vaguely looks like an L129A1 but there are differences almost everywhere you look (barrel and flash eliminator for example). Basically built it today, was gonna drop it into a couple screenshots of the updates I have been doing on my infantry but the textures aren't ready yet. Just a stop gap thing till UKF get theirs done.

Anyway..

Fantastic work Stalker. Am I right in thinking you're developing for the PR team or would that produce pitchforks and torches?

Not anymore, just don't have the time on a regular basis to get work done on anything. PR does use my infantry though (the woodland/desert DPM ones in the 4 rifle thread and ones which have an MTP pattern I made ages ago) - not the MTP pattern by SafetyCatch on my current release 3 RIFLES.
