British 3 Rifle Infantry MTP

Yeah, there's a single config line along the lines of allowbackpacks that enables it

Stalker, with your units (and all other non OAH units) it appears you can't pickup the new OAH daysacks and carry them. Only the new US units can so I'm assuming theres some sort of config line in there that lets them do that, if that's the case it'd be good if you could add them to the next update so we can use them with your units.

Had a half skipped beat when I saw those pics you posted with the new l85's and thought they were hidden somewhere before I saw the UKF sig

Yeah its a simple config line, the problem is there is a proxy in the model for where the backpack goes, the issues is getting the naming of this correct so that any backpack can be added to the unit.

Currently with the added cofig line the backpack wouldn't be visible (but can be picked up AFAIK).

@thearies, So are you saying the units don't even appear in the unit list in the editor?

under UK Armed Forces/Infantry MTP?

@Liam!!!, do you mean Assualt Osprey? The light rifleman already uses Mk3 Osprey...

EDIT: Anyones elses experiences of trying to run my units just under OA would also be appreciated so I know if I need to update base classnames etc.

EDIT2: Also, if anyone happens to know an infantry classname used by BOTH OA and ARMA2 then that would be brilliant :)

@STALKERGB

right, in the folder UK Armed Forces there are only the jackal variations visible, but you can´t play it cause there no visible models in preview

...i do a fresh install of arma2+oa and now everything is playable but vehicle crew are us-marines...

With regard to the classname being used by both ArmA2 and OA, I'm not entirely sur,e but you could always just inherit from the 'Man' class, and just define all the information for the first guy in your config and have every other unit inherit from him. That said, finding a common classname predefined with Side=West etc would be easier I guess.

On a side note, I'm glad SafetyCatch allowed you to use the MTP, the units are rather impressive ;)

Stalker is not part of the P:UKF team, if you want to get Stalkers soldiers in those jackals then you're gonna have to do it yourself.

Also, Cracking units stalker, look really nice, keep up the excellent work.

Yeah I was planning to do my own base class inherited from "SoldierWB" which is in both A2 and OA.

THe problem I foresee is that some stuff I'd define wouldn't be in A2 but is in OA, for example:

identityTypes[] = {"Language_EN_EP1","USMC_Glasses","Head_USMC"};

AFAIK "Language_EN_EP1" isn't defined in A2 so you'd get an error but if I removed I guess I'd lose some functionality in OA?

PS. Yeah the MTP looks great, SafetyCatch did an amazing job! Glad you like the units :)

The only other option would be doing two seperate PBOs with two different configs in it, one should be used by OA users, and the other by those who only have ArmA2. Use the same classnames, but have different entries for portions of it, such as the identities etc.

It is the proper sound I think.

And its not his work (the weapon pack) its Project Uk Forces weapon pack.

Direct and to the point...

Fearing a similar response..but always a glutton for punishment...

Are there any plans to give the weapons an iron site/scope switch capability?

Check PMs, Stalkers thread is turning into a UKF propaganda thread :D

Lol I definately don't envy me! :)

The plan at the moment will to just release the units with an OA config, that will mean if you own OA (with or without arma 2) you will use this config and get any extra OA functionality. I will include a seperate one for people who ONLY own ARMA 2 so they dont get any errors when they use my units.

Finding it a bit hard to do an all MTP vest at the moment, I'm very bad at doing grayscales so its hard to get the desired effect with the texture, should sort it soon though.

EDIT: I'm still experimenting with the backpack system, will get my backpacks as part of it and hopefully get it so all the units can use any rucksack.

Anyway, heres a nice picture for you, nothing you haven't seen before really...

It may be usefull for you StalkerGB, i own OA without AA2. I downloaded your 3 Rifle Mod and put it into the addon-Folder. It is in Editor not under Bluefor nor opfor, its under empty(? i own german version) and then there are your units( same with 3 Para btw.) If i put then a soldier( for example At-Soldier) it say: No entry bin\config.bin/Cfg Vehicles/STKR_BritMTP.At.simulatin.

only Addon which works currently is the Multicam SF Addon.

Edit: downloaded the patch for OA and now the3 Para+ 3 rifle are playable under Blufor. Only missing thing are the uk weapon boxes( units got british weapons exept m249)

I believe it is because the units probably use ArmA 2 vehicle classes.

@Baff1, if someone makes A bagpipe gun I'll add it lol!

@Williams, thanks for telling me about that, what I have done is have one config for if you own JUST ARMA2 and one that works if you own OA. The OA config is the one most of you will use I guess, you will use this one regardless of whether you own ARMA2 as well (hope that makes sense). It is, as Nixo91 says, because the current units inherit from the USMC_Soldier class which isn't present in OA.

so:

A2config - ARMA2

OAconfig - OA

OAconfig - OA + ARMA2

The thermal images are sorted, the config is done, a new unit has been created , basically a case of doing the backpack system which shouldn't take too long. Made a new open top pouch as well.

Anyway, this is a sort of "all MTP" unit, being a bit rubbish with textures the PALS loops (more commonly MOLLE if you are a Yank) are just tinted green instead of also being in MTP. WIll hopefully change this later down the line. Probably will fill a grenadier role of some sort. I plan on doing another unit with full MTP (ie without a T-Shirt).

operationarrowheadlgdoiwnss.jpg

Massive big large!

At the moment, the "full MTP" unit I've yet to make doesn't have a role yet, anyone got any idea as to what is needed/lacking (like machinegunner or AA or something). As always ANY suggestions/ comments about anything are welcome.

Stalks how about keeping close to the arma style of infantry classes. for example:

Team Leader

Squad Leader

Rifleman

Rifleman (Light)

Rifleman (Backpack)

Rifleman (M136)

Rifleman (M1014)

Grenadier

Medic

Automatic Rifleman

Machinegunner

Marksman

Anti-Tank Specialist

Anti-Air Specialist

Combat Engineer

Sniper

Spotter

Maybe give the combat engineer, the teamleader and squad leader backpacks too. The snipers and spotters dont have to have ghillie either since many british units snipe without it due to it being hot and impractical in the desert ennit. Spotter could have the new OA spotting device in the OA config.

If you need a hand with doing the many configs btw mate just drop me a PM.

I wouldn't bother with an Anti-Air bloke. There's no Starstreak model about and they're not that commonly used in MANPAD form anyway.

Could do with a GPMG gunner or a proper AT bloke with a Javelin; making the bloke with the M136, 'Rifleman (ILAW)' or something

@da12th, wow thats excellent! Cheers for finding that! Will have a look at making the needed changes, I take it thats the hybrid DPM on the PALS loops?

Also how exactly does the cummerbund get attatched on the armour? Every photo I see seems to have a different setup for that front section.

@Colonel stagler, yeah I think my plan was going to be to stick to something along BIS lines, good idea about the OA spotting device too!

LMG Gunner

Platoon Level:

Platoon Commander (SA80, daysack)
