STALKERGB 6 Posted June 30, 2010 I'd pay to have an armoured horse in OA! ;) Would you pay me if I made you one? lol YEah I think (for me anyway), it would need to be something other than new units really, or maybe a campaign with the units, i dunno. I guess it depends how much it would cost, people saying they'd pay £15 pounds for a new faction sounds a bit disproportionate seeing as Most of us got OA for around £16.
liquidpinky 11 Posted June 30, 2010 I'd pay to have an armoured horse in OA! ;) Or Camel.
Kiki 10 Posted June 30, 2010 the problem of DLCs is that you will split the community. For example, if you make several DLCs, just imagine the numbers of missions, campaigns made by the community that would not be able to be played by a lot of people that just bought the original game . That would cause a lot of frustration I think, because when you bought arma 2 and then that you discover that you have to pay severals dlcs to enjoy a new experience when you just have finished the game... and in a way it could be a mess ! we could say: we can do free missions without dlcs anyway! but it would be a shame to don't take benefits of all this work that will bring some good things for shure... icewindo 29 Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) I'd pay to have an armoured horse in OA! ;) I'm all in as long as it as shiny as this one ... Funny thing, one could probably wrap up a horse with the cow mlods... ...infact I had some progress on animating a Zebra using the cow animations... with ~24 hours full of try&error it could work without mlods, but that approach is plainly retarded, not worth the effort. Did I just say mlods? Oh wait, what did I talk about :( ? Edited June 30, 2010 by Icewindo
[GLT] Legislator 66 Posted June 30, 2010 While browsing through the config files I noticed the classname "s1203_funeral" ... well referring to a Skoda 1203M hearse :) Will it be DLC? Free via patch or non-free?

Big Dawg KS 6 Posted July 1, 2010 Well that's a nice little surprise for us Steam users. I'm sure Steam will be just one method of distribution. Afterall, the Steam version of the game still uses the same data format as retail/other digital download versions, so I'm sure BIS will come up with their own way of protecting their DLC from illegal distribution, etc... Kristian 47 Posted July 1, 2010 I would support DVD along steam. :) That way I could have my badass lookin' BIS collection on shelf grow :D
jpinard 10 Posted July 11, 2010 I would love SNOW for DLC. Snowy weather, snow sound effects, snow gear, and big map. Think the contested area of Finland in WWII... Add some new shaders (frosty breath), low hills, 2 medium sized towns on opposite sides of the map, 2 associated airbases, a big DEEP frozen lake in the middle, footprints and tank treads that last for a really long time so tracking can be a big part of gameplay, a huge factory in one town that's too big to just destroy with just mortars... Nazul 10 Posted July 11, 2010 Id buy a polished turd from BIS. I love their stuff so much, its worth every cent with the amount of time you get from playing it. Campaign(no warfare) and some units and Ill be all over it!

monotone 3 Posted July 11, 2010 I would love SNOW for DLC. Snowy weather, snow sound effects, snow gear, and big map. You can use Environment - Effects module to come down snow partially. This is not enough?
hund 0 Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) I would love SNOW for DLC. Wouldn't that be better suited for the next expansion: "Operation Icepick"? The Plot? Angry laplanders invade russia in the winter, taking control of tactical nukes and strapping the warheads to their reindeer. The world is in peril, and only the Takistani Defence Force can be trusted to save the day! I think it would work... Edited July 11, 2010 by Hund

Angry laplanders invade russia in the winter, taking control of tactical nukes and strapping the warheads to their reindeer. The world is in peril, and only the Takistani Defence Force can be trusted to save the day! I think it would work... The scenario: Russia and "Tinland" (LOL - Finland) are at odds with each other. Karelia and Salla, the two areas of land forfeited to Russia after their bloody WW2 conflict, decide after 70 years of oppressive rule they want to rejoin their motherland Tinland. Tinnish and US/NATO forces move in to secure the area while having to defend against a massive invasion by Russian forces and Guerilla/Insurgents in the area who are native Russians. hund 0 Posted July 11, 2010 How about we make the russians the good guys for once? They've deserved at least one game where they aren't out to destroy the whole world in one way or another. Anyways I really think weaponized reindeer is the way to go.
Kristian 47 Posted July 11, 2010 oh I know. :D Evil Russians get mad and want to invade US in the middle of day with shitloads of airborne units and stuff.. Waity.. wasn't that done in some other game.. :p Anyways, I'd love to see for example a small scenario taking place inside US. Maybe near southern border, against some drug organisations. No more of the EVIL SOCIALISTS/COMMUNISTS!111one :j:

Actually yeah, it would be kind of nice to see a conflict where the U.S. and Russia are working together, similar to Bosnia in the 90s.
EDcase 87 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) I'd pay for different era units and equipment packs: WWII Vietnam/Korea With enough content these could be sold as complete conversions. (same price as OA) I know some of these things are available from moders but I'd prefer to have BIS quality stuff as one complete package instead of lots of bits from different sources. ------------------------ As for distribution: I haven't seen anyone mention Sprockets. Thats the way BIS gets the most return. Piracy is a tricky one but could something be done where you put in your original code from OA|ARMA2 and it generates a key based on your CPU id. Registering your code online to get a key would be another idea but requires more resources. Edited July 12, 2010 by EDcase
Nielsneo 10 Posted July 12, 2010 How bout instead of horse armor, cow armor. Imagine an insurgant lookout watching the horizon and at that moment a large number of armored cows come stampeding towards the camp. That would be funny as hell.:bounce3::bounce3:

spamurai 3 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) I would pay 5 dollars for a patch dedicated solely to improving the AI's basic behaviors in Arma2 to the point where they drive like normal human beings... and not say, like the wheelchair bound Timmy from South Park. instagoat 133 Posted July 12, 2010 I am all for DLCs. THe only problem for me is how to pay for them, even though that´s probably only a marginal problem. Content wise, I trust Bohemia to not do rip-offs á la stimulus pack, or Oblivion horse armour. DLCs are a perfect means to generate funds for the company, because they can have relatively large profit margins on them, which then can be used to make even better new content, or fund other game productions. So I´d even just buy DLCs to support BI in their efforts to remain as good a company as they have been to me as a gamer in the past. I´m already looking forward to what this´ll bring. Cheers Insta
