Jungle Wars: Island of Lingor

Nope, been trying to use 'em but heads are hardcoded in, so I cannot randomize faces. I would need an MLOD of the model in order to do that, but BIS won't release that stuff, of course. Priority now is to finish beta of the island and to get feedback from you.

Its indeed looking amazing Icebreakr, its gone be a new amazing map, to bad I cant enjoy it soon because I am moving out today but it will be my first download when I am set up again:D

Great job and love your work(s) and cant wait to see with what you come up next.

But other then that, I can't wait. (I'm watching Predator as I type this hehe) and now I'm pumped for this map ^_^

*-When the island units/areas are done, he feels it's fit and ready to release etc. etc. etc.

Icebreakr should update the original post with new pics because it sucks searching all the pages to see what the units and the island looks like.

Loving the screenshots! The Government troops look top notch!

It would be cool if you could have a shot of the Stalkers observing their pray. :P

I'm thinking an over the shoulder shot of them watching the Government troops on patrol. :D

Troops: (i like the uniform texture, but please the bodyarmor should use same texture)

Regular:

Officer (armed with a pistol, and a nice uniform in Dark green and a cap)

Field Officer (Armed with a Pistol, combat uniform and a Baret)

Team Leader (armed with a G3 with Grenade launcher and a pistol)

Soldier1 (armed with a G3, helmet)

Soldier2 (armed with a G3, bush hat)

Soldier3 (armed with a G3, cap)

Machinegunner (armed with a MG3)

Medic (armed with a G3, and a pistol)

Sniper (armed with a M21 or M14 sniper version, and in a regular uniform like the soldiers)

Engineer (armed with a G3, 2 satchel charge)

AT soldier (armed with a G3, Carl Gustav)

Elite: (use a spec op uniform/recon uniform or light uniform)

OBS!! The G3 and G3 Eotech is from ACE, they have some great G3's please use them, the MG3, there are many great one out there any questions PM me :)

Rebels suggestions will come later..

New buildings are always good.

I hate to say but no matter how good some maps are, them all using the same stock buildings results in the maps feeling quite the same as everything else out there.

It feels like an extension of a map rather than a completely new map, so to speak. That in general isnt too bad, but it kind of defeats the purpose of trying to offer a new terrain that wasnt there before (jungle, snow, desert etc).

For example, i really liked Celle because it had a very German feel to it because it had it's own type of buildings (at least a lot of them in Celle itself, including the big custom castle).

Playing FDF Podagorsk, while great, doesnt add anything new and feels like an extension of Chernarus. When i download a new map, i want it to offer me something new that other maps didnt.

EDIT:

This is ofcourse with no disrespect at all to mapmakers. I thank them for all of their hard work. It's just something that i sometimes have when trying out new maps.

Nope, thats Franze's A1 stuff - just for my personal pleasures (you can find the addon on Armaholic or here on BIF) ;)

But I've heard that Molatia is in talk with ARL to obtain Mig-21s from somewhere... but thats all still hush-hush.

I don't know if you started on the civilians yet, but could you make 2 different types of Civilians? 1 group called "City People" Which would consist of Tourists and upper class people who live/work in the main city. Then another group called "Regulars" Which would be very poor or low class civilians, the ones that live in small villages in the middle of the jungle, they would wear very worn and dirty cloths. Ripped and old looking.

I really hope you consider this suggestion, would just top off the level of awesomeness already coming from Lingor. :D

Okay Icebreaker :) fine with me, but can the Lingor Goverment then buy some great elite weapons ?? :) no M16, but M4 maybe those from OA, the camoflaged one :)

And then the british sniper rifle :)

This sounds like a good idea, but I'd like to see a picture of the Lingor Capital before I make up my mind.

To keep you up to date:

I'm preparing a multiplayer event Powershow with SBP (my team) and UGAF for the opening ceremony. A little bit of airshow and car stunts ;)

Here's a basic current todo for public beta:

1. I'm working on finalizing towns of Calamar (rebel stronghold), Negrosa, Fauna, Prospero, Victorin, Corazon and Tucco.

2. Mud road network is being placed on remote parts of jungle (SE of island) along with small settlements/farms.

3. Improving satellite image and airports&roads visible from long distances

4. Alice module towns so AI can travel from town to town

5. Three airports with working ILS & AI takeoff/landing + 1 extra airport just for players

6. Improvements to Capital Town of Maruko
