What is Havoc Company?

Havoc Company, based in the United Kingdom but attract people from all over the world, is a realistic – tactical clan offering a medium combining realism and fun. With our approach to the game we believe we have struck the right balance between these two elements. Our realism comes into the equation when you consider that all members are given formal training in tactics and procedures for many different aspects of the game. Our realism also comes into effect when you consider our co-op missions. They are best described as "Realistic, action orientated, scenarios" meaning that our mission makers focus on realistic briefings, objectives, enemy unit placement, force ratio etc. while also ensuring tough firefights with a tough enemy.

The fun comes from our members who can switch instantly from being totally and utterly serious about completing the mission the proper way one minute to being goofy and sharing a joke the next. As i said earlier, our missions are action orientated meaning there is always a lot to see and do. Our missions are a real challenge and we find a challenge fun.

Havoc Company gameplay style

"Realistic, action orientated, scenarios". A realistic enemy requires a realistic approach to completing the mission.

Our big operations on sunday, involving 30+ people, start off with the platoon commander (Plt. Cmdr.) holding an "O-Group" to give his orders to the section commanders (Sect. Cmdr.), second-in-command's (2IC) and any attachements to the platoon. The sect. cmdr.'s and 2IC's will then go off to their respective sections and get the section ready for the mission. The mission starts with the Plt. Cmdr. and/or scout doing a Close Target Recce of the objective to get eye's on enemy positions, likely enemy approach routes for reinforcements and covered and concealed approach routes to the objective. When contact is made with the enemy everyone reacts accordingly to try to win the firefight to kill or suppress the enemy. This allows one element to assault the enemy to kill him with close assaulting fire to take the position. This "fire and maneuver" process is repeated until all objectives are taken.

Of course this is just one style of mission. We play many other less serious "fuck around" missions to let our hair down.

"Do anything, be anyone"

Havoc Company operates on the principle that anyone can play as any role they wish as long as they have the right qualification to do so. That means you are not limited to being a rifleman or tank driver for each mission, although you can if you wish. This variety means a comlete different gaming experience each time you play with Havoc Company.

Battle Structure.

Havoc Company's in game structure is based around the British and Canadian armies. We use eight man sections, each commanded by a Section Commander and assisted by a Second-in-Command. Although we are largely based on the British and Canadian army, we are not direct copies of either. We use tactics from various different militaries to suit our in game needs.

2. Rifleman (Scout)

What we offer you.

- A mature atmosphere, which also offers a large degree of fun.

- Dedicated instructors/trainers who will guide you though our original training scheme.

- A realistic gaming setting, which does not forgot about the fun of ArmA.

- Scheduled missions throughout the week (including Friday Night PvPs, and Sunday Operations).

Frequently Asked Questions.

How long is your recruitment period?

We have a four week period for our new recruits. During this period the recruit shall take part in our Phase 1 training and Phase 2 training (Combat Infantryman’s course). You are also required to take part in our Sunday Operations; but why wouldn’t you want to?

Do you play with third-person view? And what difficulty do you play on?

Havoc Company does not play with the third-person view; as we wish to achieve the most realism possible. We strive to make the AI as realistic as possible.

You use British tactics…So do you use British Units/Weapons/Vehicles?

At Havoc we pride ourselves on being a universal fighting force. Although we do use British tactics, we are not an exclusively British unit. We will be using various mods depicting various countries to keep games fresh.

How are mods handled?

Every mod that is suggested for us to us, is extensively tested by our S3 team, and is also put to the vote from our clan community.

Havoc Company Releasing Two Mods

HC are proud to announce that they have released two mods to the ArmA 2 community.

Our first one is made by HC - Rob; a program which allowed you to manage all of your deadicated servers in one, easy to use application. The mod can be found here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=100175. The mod is in Alpha stages right now, but please feel free to use and test.

The second mod is made by HC - Hellfire. At HC, we were finding it hard to get "artistic" pictures (e.g. without the Squad diamonds, and HUD) in all of the screen shots we took. So Hellfire took it upon himself to make a client-side camera script. You can find the script here, http://www.havoc-company.com/downloads/@Cameraman.zip, and like before, please report any bugs.

Public Mid-Week Operation Arranged

After much voting on the forum, and talking in TeamSpeak. Havoc Company are now going to be doing scheduled Co-Ops every Tuesday at 7pm GMT. This is where anyone is welcome to come along and play the way Havoc Plays. Of course, anyone is still welcome to use our public servers at any time.

Arranged Co-Op with Unit 19 & RIP

Havoc Company has been in talks with U19 and RIP, and has arranged to have joint co-ops with them in the future.

Unit 19

http://www.unit19.org/news.php

We are going to be having a joint co-op with Unit 19 on the 27th June 2010, and all of us at Havoc Company, are very excited. We will be posting more news on it closer to the date, and hopefully be uploading a boat-load of videos and screen-shots after the Sunday Operation.

Rusty In Places

http://www.rustyinplaces.org/rip/

The date for our Co-Op with RIP had to be changed, sadly, but we are in talks with them on changing the date, and it will hopefully be within the next month. More news will be posted closer to the date, and like with U19, we are looking forward to experiencing a Co-Op with another clan.

Operation Arrowhead Release

I'm sure everyone in the community is looking forward to OA, and so is HC! We are already talking about new mission ideas.

We are aware that upon release, at the time of writing, OA will not be fully ACE compatible, and as HC uses ACE - this would pose a problem. We are also aware that some people may not have/buy OA upon it's release date.

Because of this we are holding votes on the forum to see when we should use it. Most people are in agreements that we will not be using OA straight away, and wait until most of the conflicts are ironed out, and our clan members have it. We will however, be making sure to keep a ArmA vanilla server up, so those in the community that don't have OA won't feel excluded.

Its nice to be back posting away, But lets get down to business

In recent weeks there have been a few accusations that HC are a hacking clan well we would like to categorically deny the rumors circulating the Arma community regarding that we have instigated a hack to warfare games or any type of game.

We run a mature clan which has a friendly, fun atmosphere. We will not tolerate any form of hacking/cheating within the clan. Any such members attempting this will be removed and banned with immediate effect!

We have an idea where this false rumor might have escalated from, but we would rather not start naming people and getting dragged into sour arguments. Our main server runs battleye with admins on usually 24 hours a day, we are working with other clans to resolve this problem.

In the past week, we have also amassed alot of evidence to the 2 main culprits that are trying to tarnish our name.

Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead

We currently have up at least 2 Arma2 servers and 1 Operation Arrowhead server, Domination is usually running most of the time on the OA server, but we have plenty of missions on the A2 server that would appease anyones milsim fixes.

We are still using A2+ace+havocmodpack for our main games as we are awaiting everyone in the clan getting OA up and running, All in good time though.

Joint Ops

We recently have a very successful time in a joint op with unit 19. We are always looking for joint ops and if anyone has any interest in this dont hesistate to pm/hop on our TS and ask.

PVP

Every Friday night we host a pvp night. I would like offer an invitation to any clans out there that want to have a Clan Vs Clan pvp match. Our pvps missions are almost always objective based. If you're interested just get in touch and we get the ball rolling with plenty of room to accomodate anything that you would require/want from a pvp match.

It has been a while since our last update, but things have been moving quickly in the group. We have a large number of new recruits are are still looking to expand and engage with individuals looking for gameplay revolving around proper tactics and structured teamplay.

We are holding the following TWO events in the next week, these will consist of a OPEN public coop night and an OPEN public PVP night with scenarios created by the HC map making team.

We hope that some of you will join us, and look forward to seeing community members on our server, if you wish to hop on TS3 for games in the meantime then feel free.

21/10/2010 - Update

Overview

Havoc Company is still going strong and growing in numbers on an almost daily basis.

In the last 3 months we have updated out Havoc Mod pack, the main pack consists of many great islands but we have a few other mods such as the brilliant RKSL Eurofighter and the game changing DAC.

Havoc Company is currently employing GL4 on its servers after months of testing, and we are certain our COOPs are some of the most intense in the community. We happily invite anyone to come along to some of our DAC/GL4 coop missions to join in on the fun.

We now have a HAVOCLITE pack up and running for those that wish to play in our games, this is a small package (under 80MB) which will allow you to play in all of our missions (providing you have the appropriate island).

You can download the HC Lite pack from YOMAS here - http://www.havoc-company.com/yas/HavocLite.zip

Arma 2 - News

We recently had a very successful joint operation with United Operations last weekend and are looking forward to future endeavours with them, If they'll have us of course.

We are ALWAYS on the look for COOP and PVP opportunities with other clans, if you wish to join us please post your requests here - http://www.havoc-company.com/forum/default.aspx?g=topics&f=29

One of the major changes that has happened in havoc recently is the introduction of armoured vehicles, It took its time to implement them into the clan, but we have the training material ready and are beginning the long process of training up a tank squadron.

Website

As of last night (Wednesday) we almost changed our website on a major scale, With the introduction of the Halloween theme (WIP!) Speaking of the website, most of it is still a work in progress as we only have one web developer and hes busy with real life things, Such as working and getting drunk.

Overview

I know you all have been waiting with baited breath for the next Havoc Company update, since the last one was in October, but here it is in all its informative gloriousness. The reason for this is not because we have died, but because we've had so much other shit going on that takes up must of our time.

The ranks have been steadily growing with many of our existing members stepping up to the plate and taking on the section commander and platoon commander role.

Mission/addon editing

Havoc Company is home to a number of skilled and experienced mission makers who are constantly churning out unique custom made missions of various sizes. There are small missions that a played (very) regularly during the week and large platoon sized missions that everyone plays on a sunday.

A mission editing lesson/class is offered on mondays. The Lessons can range from beginner to advanced editing and can revolve round certian mods/skills such as the use of DAC, UPSMON etc. So if you've just started editing and could use help making sence of the complicated and often frustrating editor or in need of that little extra bit to get your mission working, then there is hope.

Examples of our mission can be found here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=113397&highlight=dac+mission+pack

Our talented addon creation team, headed up by rexeuk (Rob), has released several addons and scripts within the last few months. They are:

- RUK Release Thread - NIAC | ASL

- rTyphoon - RKSL Eurofighter Typhoon Sound Mod

- DAC - Custom release & control script (SUITE)

- StalkerGB Replacement Pack

Joint Operations

ARMA.co.za

This was a TvT game held on the 23rd of Feb which pitted each community against each other with ARMA.co.za taking the role of the Russian faction and Havoc Company taking the role of the British faction. In the match, we saw both sides conducting an advance to contact and making contact in a chance encounter.

16 Air Assault Brigade

This was a joint co-op mission held on the 31st of Oct. The mission consisted of both companies being air lifted into the AO and conducting individual platoon attacks with a company sized attack at the end. A OPORD for the event can be found here: http://www.havoc-company.com/wiki/Operation%20Lightning%20Spear.ashx

Insurgency Wednesday

Every wednesday, we have been gathering for some insurgency at Havoc Company. We soon realised that when it comes to gamemodes like this one, more is better. We'd like to invite anyone to the public game of Insurgency every wednesday. We feel it's the perfect mix between pvp and tactical coop. Don't hesitate to drop by and make sure to join our TeamSpeak server (info is on the website). The server is set up for ACE, so make sure you grab the latest version.

Check the latest in this thread for more info on the upcoming game!

Tactical Coop

Our main piece of beef remains our sunday coop of course. Our mission makers continue to churn out quality gaming moments. Our S3, mission approval team, makes sure these missions meet all our standards and are playable by everyone while still providing as big a gaming experience as possible. Here is some footage of the lads at S3 on the job, testing out a mission.

Update to our modpack

Havoc has adopted the RH M4/16 & HK pack. These should give us more tactical options for our different deployment types.

Current Operations

Havoc Company just completed Operation Welthers, a 10 mission long campaign.

We were initially deployed as Special Forces with the order for capturing high priority targets, but thanks to some interference by the Taliban, we had to complete different urgent tasks, before we could focus on searching for the VIPs.

Somehow they managed to escape though, and we were tasked with destroying a SCUD luncher. Despite our quick movement the Taliban managed to launch the SCUD which than detonated in mid air, leaving us unconscious and without communications.

After recovering we had to make our way back to base on foot, while being hindered by poor visibility and fog because of the SCUD explosion.

Eventually we made it back through miles of hostile territory to be extracted to base.

After this awesome campaign we are now back to single missions for a few weeks, while our talented mission makers are working on a new, even better, one.

Restructuring & Changes in Recruitment

Thanks to feedback by some of our recruits and members, we have changed the way our recruitment works.

The way it works now is the following:

1) Put in your application

If your application is accepted you will be invited to an interview on teamspeak. If you get the green light after the interview, you will become an applicant.

2) Pass the selection course

After you are accepted as an applicant you have to pass a selection course to show us you are able of basic tactics and that you put some effort into learning our style of play. If you pass the selection, you will become a recruit.

If you don't pass, you might be able to do it again, depending on your overall impression.

3) Do your training

Once you are a recruit, you will have to do two training sessions.

The Phase 1 will teach you all the basic infantryman skills you need to participate in one of our Sunday op. After you completed this phase you will be assigned to a section, which will conduct your phase 2.

The Phase 2 will teach you our more advanced group tactics and maneuvers. After you passed that, you will become a full member and can select a role in your section.

Restructuring

Because of some resignation we restructured our sections.

The current ORBAT can be view here

This means that it is the perfect time for you to join, because there are lots of good positions available!

If you want to contact as, the best way is to hop on our TS, post in the Forums or PM this account.

[HC] Havoc Company

Hey everyone, it has been a couple of years since any of us involved with Havoc Company have posted any news on here, but we have had some exciting news happening over the last few weeks which has seen a rise in new recruits and lots of multiplayer missions happening both during the week and on our regular big operation night Sunday.

I thought it would be good for us to share some of the footage we have recorded during these missions, so you can get a good feel of how we play and operate. We currently use the excellent ACE modification for our Arma 2 OA Operations along with the popular ACRE which really does help a great deal with communications as you will see in the footage below which starts with our Havoc Company promotional video.

Havoc Company - Promotional Video -

Sunday Operations - Mission Maker [HC]Kotp, 26th June 2013 - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

Havoc Company were in operations over Northern Takistan in an attempt to find valuable Intel that would confirm the link of Russian involvement with the Takistani Militia. Standing in the way were Three Enemy Sam Sites which until destroyed, were preventing any kind of ground assault to take place and this task was handed to the Apache Crew call name Eagle Two.

Eagle Two had a little bit of difficulty at first in finding their designated targets and this did see many of the ground insertion troops along with the Osprey Insertion Pilot begin to become a little frustrated. However, once Eagle Two successfuly despatched their first enemy Sam Site, the remaining two quickly followed and the ground assault quickly began.

Havoc Company - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest -

Sunday Operations - Mission Maker [HC]Hellfire, 19th June 2013 - Operation Archipeglo

One of the very few missions to have thwarted Havoc Company every time we have attempted it! Designed to require effective use of close air support, the mission involves a good mix of long and short range firefights, and as poor alpha found out, long lasting too. Our objective was to eliminate the coastal AA defenses in order to destroy selected strategic targets scattered over the map. The mission started out fairly well, with being inserted by two helicopters on the beaches below the cliffs, as to shield us from anti-aircraft fire.

Although the LZ was hot, all teams were inserted the the helicopters managed to withdraw back to the LHD. The initial plan involved the two teams splitting up to strike at two adjacent AA positions to clear a path for the fast air to come in. However, as we know, no plan survives contact with the enemy… Alpha engaged hostiles on the cliffs while bravo moved towards the their objective. Alpha assaulted uphill towards their objective, taking fire the whole way.

Meanwhile, bravo took a leisurely stroll up to their objective only to find out that somebody (not mentioning any names!) had lost their AT launcher. They eliminated all hostiles at the objective, but left the ZSU-23-4 Shilka intact. Withdrawing to a defensive position to await resupply, they were engaged at long range by multiple enemy units, resulting in a bitter firefight in order to prevent the enemy advancing. Meanwhile, alpha had secured their AA position and was facing a relentless close range counter-attack.

Due to the nature of the terrain, the enemy was able to advance to within 50m of the AA site and assault alpha’s position. After being beaten back multiple times by both alpha and bravo, the enemy tried a different tactic and attempted to split the two teams in two and encircle alpha’s position. By now, bravo had won the firefight and was able to reinforce alpha and prevent them being encircled. Bravo reached alpha’s position, reinforcing the eastern approach. Eventually the enemy attack was beaten off and both teams moved into position to overlook the first objective; kill the arms dealer.

With the coastal AA neutralised, it was decided to call the Harrier in for a strike with a GBU-12. Unfortunately, this ended in tears, resulting in one crashed Harrier and an MIA pilot. Unknown to the majority of the infantry, the pilot was alive and infiltrating the arms dealer’s location with nothing but an M9, eventually clearing the objective and killing the arms dealer. Regrouping, the teams were airlifted to the next objective; destroy the BM-21s. When they arrived however, the objective was deathly quiet…at least until the BM-21s started exploding in sequence. This sneaky trap led to the demise of everybody except bravo, who due to a navigation error (they got lost lol) were away from the objective at the time.

In the wake of a burning field and deadly trap, Havoc quit the field – defeated once again by Operation Archipelago. Maybe one day!

Unfortunately we were unable to record any footage of this operation.

Midweek Operations - Mission Maker [HC]Whiskers, 20th June 2013 - Capture Neaville

As well as playing Arma 2 OA, we also have recently started playing a number of midweek missions using the Invasion 44 modification which really has come a long way since it's birth many moons ago for Arma 1. I think everyone has a soft spot for World War 2 warefare and one of our recent new recruits jumped straight in at the deep end and created a very challenging operation for us all to play and the footage of that memorable mission can be found on the link below.

Havoc Company - Capture Neaville

Operation Ninth Tea - Mission Maker [HC]Craptakular

This was [HC]Craptakular's first mission for a while and everyone had plenty of fun. There was plenty of objectives and enemy to keep us all busy and most people managed to rack up a nice kill score.

Check out the whole operation as it happened by clicking on the youtube link below.

Havoc Company - Operation Arrow Head

Havoc Company is Always Recruiting

Our door is always open for anyone wanting to take part in our Midweek or Sunday Operations. Simply head on over to Havoc Company Website and fill out an application and someone from our group will be in touch to invite you to a very informal chat on our Teamspeak Channel where we can explain more of what we do and how we work along with all the mods you need to download and how to achieve this along with any questions that you may have about our group.

Sunday Mission Operation - Silver Oak - Mission Maker - [HC]Craptakular

Another exciting Sunday Operation at Havoc Company took place last night, with [HC]Craptakular providing us with his second mission called Operation Silver Oak.

Havoc Company were playing as the US Army going up against the Russians in which there were a number of objectives for Havoc Company to complete, which mainly comprised of destroying enemy installations.

It was also decided that Havoc Company would test out a new platoon structure for this Sunday Operation and this mean't that only Fire Team Leaders would carry radios, which in my opinion worked very well as each fireteam did seem to operate ( a word one of our members Kamarov will no doubt appreciate) in a much more effective manner and casualties were kept to a minimum.

All in all everyone seemed to enjoy the mission and will be looking forward to playing part 2 next week and if you would like to view a video of what went down in Chenarus Town, click on the video link below.
