Arma-2-Guru 55 Posted May 16, 2010 OK, I go into the editor, place my guy somewhere with trees and stuff. I then change my GFX settings to my liking, I get nice visual quality as well as 25-30 fps. Then if I quit the game and go back in my terrain and objects detail has gone back to normal and shadows have disabled themselves, yet AA has put itself to very high along with texture detail, video memory and post-processing effects. What the hell is my computer doing? I also made sure my arma2.cfg wasn't read only in case my computer was having trouble writing the new values in the .cfg but it's fine. Any ideas what is wrong? sprayer_faust 0 Posted May 17, 2010 Also check your Name.ArmA2Profile file for read only. That is where the settings for shadows, texture quality, view distance etc. are stored in. If it still resets try this: Start game, set up your stuff, confirm, alt-tab, make both files read only, alt-tab, quit, restart, hope it worked.
Arma-2-Guru 55 Posted May 17, 2010 It isn't even a problem any more, I usually get 25-30 fps with the settings on normal, but I just fired up ArmA II now and it set everything to very high, including AA and viewdistance at 2500. And now I get the same fps as before, win win. Thanks anyway bud.

Arma-2-Guru 55 Posted May 28, 2010 Hmm, it turned out the view distance wasn't on 2500, it was on 1000 and although AA said very high ingame I checked Nvidia Control Panel and it was overriding the setting to 2x AA, still nice enough though. :) I've got some duel core cpu, not sure which one to be honest. Nvidia Geforce 9800gt 2GB Not sure what motherboard either Got 2GB RAM.
