ArmA II Stargate Mod

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I'd like to start by giving you a few links:

Stargate Addons SVN: https://armastargatemod.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/armastargatemod

Stargate Assault Forums: http://www.stargateassault.net/forum/index.php

Stargate Mods ModDB Page: http://www.moddb.com/mods/arma-stargate-mod

Now down to buissness... this news post is to show the community that we understand there frustration over missed deadlines and lack of releases, with this in mind we've decided to change our approach and open the development process to the communuty.

Above you'll find the web link for our SVN archive, it gives everyone access to the cutting edge code and includes instructions on how to get it working in ArmA II (not ArmA I atm); now I feel the need to remind everyone that we're currently in the middle of a full rewrite of the mods code which means the alpha currently has less functionality than it did two years ago, so keep that in mind if you feel the need to download and have a play.

The following information are status updates and will change as time goes on.

_________________________________________________________________

SVN Revision No: 47

SVN Revision Notes: First update with working transport code, works for projectiles and units though may still be buggy; I've also fixed a few DHD bugs. The next version of the Stargate's will probably need OA to work.

you guys going to add in the wraith?

I have some models I created for them but they'll need more work, especially texturing.

Several (external) guys told me they would help with textures, but it didn't get past telling yet.

Hey, I have a question. Whenever I use the TelTak, and I try to enter it through the side door, I get shot up in the air and die :/ I try to use the code you provided but that does nothing. I know it is still beta so I know it will have some bugs.

When it comes to SciFi, this is easily gearing up to be one of the more prominent mods! Great work so far, the likenesses are spot on.

Ohh awesome! :D Love how the jaffas look with the new Arma 2 shaders :) Maybe a bit to shiny if it can be toned down a little little bit.

Really cool that you got the stargate cast also in there.

if i may ask are you going to set it up so that the wraith have stunners and can feed off the players and also be multiplayer compatible?

Looks good guys, very impressive. However just be careful, MGM really don't like Stargate mods, if this series of games has taught us anything...

Nice video, Also noticed the Chronicles videos done for the ArmA 1 version of this mod.

Will there be any chance of a return of a Chronicles series using the ArmA 2 version of this mod?

Thoroughly enjoyed watching Chronicles and thought it was a shame that it stopped at part 3.

Like really :p ?

There is one, but I didn't put in as much time as I wanted to.

I tried to tell the story in a retrospective view that starts with future scenes and mixes them with current action until the current action catches up with the future, kind of like the one Atlantis episode where Sheppard gets a nasty iratus bug clutched at his neck. I started with "X"1 as I don't have all assets to continue with the ArmA1 story in ArmA2 (e.g. Klurs Villagers), the new one plays sometime after that (Ori threat).
