froggyluv 2136 Posted May 5, 2010 Haven't had any luck with any of the recent Betas :( With zero addons and basic settings, I can immediately tell upon the loading screen that the ocean is moving way too choppy and all performance is way down, actually unplayable. Weird because I have never had these sorts of performance issues before so I guess i'll wait patiently for the next beta or OA :)
-GLT-Sarge 10 Posted May 5, 2010 I really hope they're finally going to fix grenades and HE rounds exploding on bushes and branches becauses it sucks donkey a$$ It's almost a year now........they fixed the missiles doing the same, why not 'nades and HEs??? Oh and whats the deal with the VoN Volume slider in the Sound Options Menu? in 69782 it was named properly with "VoN", in the new beta it says "to be translated"! flashbang151 0 Posted May 5, 2010 I think they did something with the AI. They take cover, provide cover and move from wall to wall like never before. I had a group of soldiers and they moved exactly to walls and rocks and provided cover while the other soldiers pushed forward. It was awesome!

Thanks BIS, the last few patches have improved the game for me a lot.(And it already ran well) May it be possible that you´re running a nvidia- card, Manzilla? rundll.exe 12 Posted May 5, 2010 I saw the flasing white pixels too in 70054, Thought It was my faullt, but it seems to be a general problem then. Changing AA does not fix it. Quite anoying if you are looking for muzzle flashes in the woods....
ast65 10 Posted May 5, 2010 Seems to me the betas since 63826 are some kind of bad´n late aprils- fools- jokes to test our patience; utterly crap. (sry BIS)
MavericK96 0 Posted May 5, 2010 It might be nice if some of you who are posting about how "crap" the betas are posted some specific results as well as your computer specs. Otherwise how is BIS going to know how to fix the problem?
santafee 10 Posted May 5, 2010 I tested all latest Betas and i can say that there are performance + for me. Since the Beta i changed the View Distance from -2000 to -3500 and its still pretty smooth. Overall looking around and flying over Chernarus is alot smoother now. Alex72 1 Posted May 5, 2010 Correct. Please state problem, hardware, drivers and settings so that BI have something to go on. Use the beta if you want to be part of testing & helping or stick to the stable release (1.05) for now. Its not like we are forced to use the betas.

(sry BIS) Well, they are called beta patches for a reason. In the last patches we've got graphics memory management that's rewritten from scratch to improve performance, so no wonder if things are a bit quirky. rundll.exe 12 Posted May 5, 2010 ;1622280']Still no change for AK ironsights? (I couldn't try this beta a lot) Model changes are usually not in beta patches. And modding weapons might even give you an unfair advantage in MP games. On top of that BIS can't guess whats wrong with them before you give a good explanation of the issue. Use the CIT for that. Anunnaki Nibiru 10 Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) We have not tested latest 70100, but in latest 3 versions: 70054 69782 69645 there is problem with connecting to game server. Players are kicked out, when they try for first time connect to the game server. They are able to find our server, they connect to the mission's MP "lobby" normaly, than they chose "slot" and click continue. And than ... "loading" process looks ok, but at the end of "progress bar" it stops (looks like whole game not responding). Shortly afther that happend, other players can see one of two bellow mentioned messages, but the player, which is connecting still waits maybe 30-60seconds to be really kicked and is back in the menu. The error messages are: HrÃ¡Ä ABCD: ÄŒas pro ověřenà signatury vyprchal and sometimes: Player ABCD kicked off by BattlEye: Client not responding Sollution: When they don't close the game, and try reconnect, they would be connected withouth problem, and process of "loading" will take very very short time, maybe few seconds. That problem is related only to mentioned BETA versions, because ALL OLDER versions (63826 and olders) was/are working withouth problems. Server: dedicated, Win32 app (Win7-64bit), PhenomII X4 965 AM3+, DDR3-2000CL9 Mods: CBA+ACE Clients: the exact same BETA version as on server, the same MOD versions, 2 to 4 CPU cores, Win7-32 or Win7-64, 4GB DDR2/3. PS: Withouth any MODs it is working good (because perhaps no signatures there ?). We have tested other mods than CBA and ACE, with the exactly same result. In every test, server and clients was having the same mod versions, the same beta version. Edited May 5, 2010 by Anunnaki Nibiru

[kh]jman 49 Posted May 5, 2010 From my perpective: - Smoother movement from within vehicles and aircraft (less of the choppy stutter/frame lag). - Reduced z fighting on buildings. - Slightly reduced framerates but still nothing to worry about. - No CTD's. So far played 5 sessions all of about 1-3 hours each. On the whole much better imho.
Zipper5 74 Posted May 5, 2010 ... Yup, I think that's to be expected. Old saves made with versions previous to 69645, I believe, don't work in the latest betas. So servers running older versions of the beta or 1.05 final will probably reject betas 69645 and above. I tried joining a server that was running an older version of Arma 2 than 69645 and my game actually crashed. That's why 63826 works.
Tommyturbo 0 Posted May 5, 2010 in my situation all betas after 63826 dropped me about 3-5 FPS. 70054 restores these lost frames and gives me much smoother play in nearly all situations, esp when using ACE and Warfx. Isn't it due to the modifications to the engine's core which I think Dwarden mentioned? I assume that would cause some clashes  Can anybody confirm my speculation about the 'responsiveness' and efficiency of the AI? I swear something has improved... langgis08 10 Posted May 5, 2010 Can anybody confirm my speculation about the 'responsiveness' and efficiency of the AI? I swear something has improved... I've got the same impression comparing 1.05 & beta's of april/may 2010. AI has advanced some years of 'genetic evolution' actual vs. past versions of the game :D - this concerns enemy AI (infantry more clever, they really hunt the player like wolves, sometimes and it's more challenging to fight them) and player's subordinates (here the balancing between obeying and thinking for their own/for the squad seems to be more realistic and effective).
