Laqueesha 474 Posted April 21, 2010 When taking off, flying, or landing a fixed-wing aircraft in ArmA 2, does using the flaps make any noticable difference as it does in real life?
Alex72 1 Posted April 21, 2010 Yep they do have effect. They create lift and since ARMA doesnt have super physics i dont recommend using them for landing as it can get hard to land (plane too light), but when taking off you leave the ground faster for sure. Test giving full power from start of runway and have them fully out. You will leave the ground without pulling back. Dont know if the C130 lifts though due to size but the rest does. Lazyman 10 Posted April 23, 2010 Yes, flaps do affect the flight characteristics of the plane: just get in a plane, assume level flight with constant speed and try lowering/raising the flaps, and you will notice that the plane will tend to climb much more. Just remember that ArmA2's physics are pretty basic, in particular when dealing with fixed-wing aircrafts.
