hAxxOr 10 Posted April 6, 2010 Hey, im new to the forums. Im having a problem with the Arma 2 multiplayer, my internet is all fine, my NAT is open, and when i go into multiplayer, i can go into any game, *that has the green light on the left* and join, even if it has battle eye on or off, and even if their ping is bad or good. Now when i connect to some people, it comes up straight away with Wait For Host, and with the picture of the person, the chopper and the AAVAIP1 or whatever it is *i dont remember* and then it lets me in the game to chose whether to be opfor or blufor. and that's fine, but in some other games, it comes up showing the whole screen black, and words saying, joining game, then it goes to wait for host, and the picture, then i connect, and that's fine. Now my friend makes a game, his NAT is open, and i try connect to him, but all that comes up is Joining game... and the rest of the screen is black, and it stays there for about ten seconds, then says, connecting failed. He has battle eye off, and so do i. we've tried typing each others IP addresses in, that didnt work, we've tried turning the firewall off, everything, and it still doesnt work can someone help a fellow gamer out would be appreciated:D cheers

Taxman 10 Posted April 7, 2010 Have you opened the ports on your router,, are you both patched up to same level,, are you both using the same copy of the game, do you have any mods installed...
hAxxOr 10 Posted April 7, 2010 Yes to all but, I don't know what you mean by opening all the ports?
Taxman 10 Posted April 7, 2010 when u say yes to the copies of the game,,,, Are you both using the SAME copy...... sharing the CD ? Did you install the game on both machines from the one cd key ?
stk2008 14 Posted April 7, 2010 Its ok to use the same cd for installing but you MUST use a diff cd key. long gone are the days of using one cd for two machines eg delta force wicked game that was.
Pulverizer 0 Posted April 7, 2010 What do you mean "NAT is open"? You need to forward UDP ports 2302-2305 to your PC's IP if you use NAT.
stk2008 14 Posted April 7, 2010 or just to test put you ip out side the firewall just to see.
hAxxOr 10 Posted April 8, 2010 How do I put my ip outside my firewall, and I'm on an XP desktop also, we aren't using the same cd key, we just have the same versions. I can't connect to all the games now, some games it just comes up with connecting failed. How do I fix that?
