Is the game better now?

Hello,

I played Arma II at the release and I though it was great except for a couple of things:

- Cheating AI that can see through grass

- Poor multiplayer choices

- Poor multiplayer browser

- Gamebreaking bugs

So, is the AI still cheating? Is it now possible to join "BF2-like" games with 2 teams shooting each other or are we still stuck with that mode (conquest I think?) with every human being in the same team and fighting AI? Did they fix the browser so it's fast, readable and accurate?

Nope, nope and nope. Sorry to disappoint you man, I only ever see conquest ones and the AI still see through grass and the browser always ill informs you of how many people are actually in a game.

Project Reality is making the PR mod for ARMA2. Pure PVP in a new way apparently. Keep an eye out for that. MP browser yes still the same however its very fast for me - always was.

The game is great. Be a man and re-install.

I don't see a point in reinstalling if all I can do is join a coop server, take helo to town, snipe every cheating AI while being shot through grass, mountains and buildings and start over in a new town.

If you feel that restrained in this game where anything can be created then... Ok cool.

However check PR Mod out and read about it. I think its right up your alley. Skipping reading about it and forgetting about ARMA2 might be a huge mistake on your part since it seems to be exactlly what you want.

IMO if you want a BF2 type game, don't look at ArmA2 for that cuz it will be hard to find. Just play BF2 or Bad Company 2 now. I have that and it runs better then ArmA2 on my PC and its all about that TvT you are looking for. I prefer the realism and Co-Op so I will stick with my ArmA2 though.

You speak the truth. These are only some of the reasons i never touched MP.

I stay on BC2 MP. ArmaII can have possibilitys and realism in tons, but it doesnt help if its not working out right at all. Now im wating for Arrowhead and Patch for AI Fixes, then im back making SP missions.

I don't want a game exactly like BF2, I just mentioned BF2 because I want to play a "vs" mode, like in BF, not coop.

AFAIK its almost here. Dont be fooled about the "beta" title as it will be fully playable when they release it. They will also keep the servers running this mod tight so there wont be a lot of la-di-da going on to ensure good PvP. Thats how i understand it anyway. They will try hard to create good PvP in A2 wich should make anyone liking realism and PvP happy.

Anyway just tried to give you a hint and maybe a reason to reinstall, but it doesnt seem to make you happy so - ta ta.

Definitly! Its not Bf3 but its the best Arcade MP i played since a long time.

First it feels a bit consolish, if your into it, you will love it;)

I love ArmaII also, but im sure it would be much better there were more arcadish parts of gameplay.

That doesnt mean take the realism away. Just faster and easier MP Squadgameplay. More Flow in the Movements and tuning the AI down a bit.

A dream would come true if Arma 3 would be a mix out of BC2 BF2 and well...just Arma;-) Sadly thats not gonna happen

You don't need to play Coop if you don't want to. :)

And btw. the AI can't see through the grass anymore since 1.05 ;)

On the downside they can see next to nothing now unless they hear you. And even then it's only half true: they will shoot you in the eye if they hear your position even if as players they wouldn't be able to see you because of the grass blades blocking the view.
