How do you quickly assign targets to your chopper gunner?

Hey,

I was wondering how you guys do effecient target assigning.

Last night I was using an Apache and didnt really get it smoothly done.

I know you can use TAB to switch through radar targets, and then just click the left mouse button and your AI gunner sends one if those fire'n'forget up their arses. Thats pretty simple. Though there are things that annoy me and I wonder how you get along:

1. When I use the right mouse button, to zoom in, and to observe the terrain, my target becomes unlocked.

2. While piloting the apache, how do I assign a target to my gunner that is not a radar target? Like a structure or infantry.

3. How do I tell my gunner to fire hydras? When I select hydras, I have to switch to manual fire and use them by myself. Though as soon as I need to switch to the MG or Hellfires, I have to turn it off again. Thats a pain to fiddle around with everytime you want to switch between MG and hydra, especially when in the middle of the action.

I m interested to hear how you do it.

You might want to bind another button to just zoom, the right mouse button is bound to around a half dozen commands that can be very irritating at times.

Not sure about arma 2 but in OFP you have to have the target box lined up in your weapons sights only then will they AI fire.

I find it much easier to just give me manual fire: You swap weapons faster, you can fire weapons faster, you can strafe targets and you generally have much more control over your weapon systems. If you really like to have the bots in command though i think the period (full stop) or comma keys toggle manual fire.

I have no idea about having to target infantry though, even telling the gunner to engage via the command menu doesn't work.

You may want to purchase a joystick or gamepad as it makes flying much easier than with a keyboard & mouse.
