ladders?

Recommended Posts

At the risk that this has been asked here already (please move thread if wrong location, thanks):

How can I get AI to use ladders and alike? I can for example order team members to climb onto a spot on top of a crane, but they never get there. Any way to do this in game without specific scripts? Or will this have to be addressed by a patch/Arrowhead?

Also when using the SIDE function on an object I often get odd errors, mostly ") missing". As I recall from OFP (and according to the Wiki) that function should report "UNKNOWN" for dead or objnull, and report an "undefined object" error if my calling object is faulty. Did the functionality of SIDE change?

They should automatically use the ladder when you order them to move to a building position that isn't reachable otherwise.

I'm not sure how to make your own AI climb it but I have seen AI climb them before. I was shocked. Within the near decade that I have been playing OFP, ArmA, and ArmA II I don't think I had ever seen them climb a ladder.

LOL. True that. Yeah if you click on a position that requires the use of a ladder they will automatically use it.

I was playing as a sniper hiding on a Rooftop when suddenly a Spetznatz surprised me, he climbed up the Ladder, I thought that I was pretty safe up there.....

I almost got killed by the guy I mentioned above who climbed the ladder too. He didn't sneak up behind me but I was on the ground and when I saw him start to climb I was amazed. He got to the top and turned towards me and it wasn't until then that I thought "I should probably shoot him."
