What do i have to do to switch from the beta to the stable version ?

Just delete the @ACE and @CBA Mod folder and install it again ?

I updated my ACE Mod with Yoma all the time if this is important...

If you want to play the stable and keep the betas then just install the stable in @ folders iwth different names.

For example @CBA_Stable,@ACE_Stable,@ACEX_Stable, etc and just make a short cut to launch the beta folders (with out _Stable) and one with the _Stable folders. :)

I absolutely love the new tank FCS, had some fun with that I can tell you :)

I have to agree with combatcomm however, I think those things (radio chatter and AI talk) ought to be in by default and removed by modules, they don't decrease performance too much do they? Wounds as well I think, anything that makes ACE better should be default.

How do you pick what your guy looks like? I went into a coop server and everyone had a different look. Some with helmets, some with ball caps ect.....

I am new to this game in general and am still trying to figure out everything.

It's their character's class. Like if you have a Team Leader (Spec Ops) as a character, they'll wear a ball cap, a normal soldier (AT specialist, MG gunner, Rifleman etc) will wear the normal soldier stuff.

have a question is it possible to have default M4's an M16 vants replace the default ARMA2 weapons so can play online an offline missions?

first, since a.c.e. 2 arma2 is a new game...great

but my question, is it possible to add the new armor system to differnt vehicles that are not yet in ace like mraps or other tanks... ???

...with a script or config file???

i would love to see all armored vehicles with the new armor system, it´s great...

Hey guys so I tried the modules for AI talk and radio chatter. Synchronized and unsync and didnt hear anything from my guys or vehicle radio. Anything im missing here? This is feature long overdue to this game and much appreciated. Thanks

Sickboy you can skip my last question about LOD... it's a setting I changed that I didn't think should affect distant vehicle detail but did. So I'm all set.

I don't know how old it is, but it only showed up in Medevac choppers and such vehicles an update or so ago.

Just place them, no sync needed. with the talk module the AI will randomly say stuff. the vehicle radio makes chatter for when you are in or near vehicles. works pretty well i think.

Didn't see the new userconfig files in the downloads? Only saw the userconfig.tar? Where should they be?

Congratulations on the release, I can't wait to try it out, which brings me to my problem. I only have dial up at home but access to broadband else where.

Can I download the release copy via broadband and then set it up to update?

I tried this with the initial release of the beta, I can't remember where the instructions are now, but it kept trying to download the entire mod even though it said that it had detected the files locally.

Also what are the required steps to totally uninstall 6Updater before I start as last time I tried playing with it, it still seemed to have the records of the previously managed folders even after un-installing / re-installing.

I like 6Updater and I think it will be usable to keep up with updates over dial up, it's just the initial setup that's proving to be a hurdle.

I install the 1.0 yesterday (ACE, CBA, ACEX) and it works odd :/

1., If I put a man into Utes and preview - depending on type of man - I start with strange weapon or weapon mode. Eg: with USMC team leader I start with a pistol (I have the M16, but on my back and I have to change the weapon). with Grenader I started with a strange mode: no HUD and I cannot shoot and I have to change the firing mode to get HUD back and can fire. With a Russian officer I started in HandGranade mode... What's this? What I did wrong??

2., CQB sight: As I expirienced in last nigh test it (Shift+F) works only for M16 with ACOG, but with any other scoped weapon didn't work.

3., Fast rope: I put a hoovering UH chopper 10 meters above the ground and a small squad in the chopper cargo. The player is the leader of the squad. There was no any action to start fast roping. How can I use fast rope?

4., I drop two IR strobes on the ground at night and watch with NVG. Only one of them flashing, the other was blind. Why?

5., What can I do with ropes? I found an ammo box for ropes and I don't know what is.

I read the f@cking manual, but I found nothing about these. Maybe I missed something, I just read the text what was in the store folder: the feature lists... etc.

Hi,

1) Weird, ive never experienced this so far. Some compability issues with other mod most likely?

2) The weapon must have CQB sights at first place (and be supported by ACE, ofc). Try XM8 or G36, there is CQB done very impressive way.

3) Did you place "Fast Roping Module" to the mission in the editor?

4) Never tried, but it might be possible bug.

5) Question for me too, but i assume its some kind of "ammunition" for fast roping, or rav lifting features.

Is Ace responsible for the maximum zoom only view, when in an M1 or Txx as gunner ?

Same question with regards to my AI whose behaviour is initially fine until they die. Then, the replacement AI seem to be stuck in danger mode and it can take up to 5 minutes to get 11 AI into a truck

????

I don't like the mods...

I'm afraid from ACE too, but it's so general, as a mission maker I have to know it.

Action menu. Scroll mousewheel and click on gasmask. First pick it up from a crate. If it doesnt work even though youve done this then you have missed the information explaining this. The userconfig client file needs your game-name where it says "John Doe".

1: I don't know why this happens, exactly, but it's not your fault. Just make sure you select the right weapon/mode after you start and it should work fine.

2: Not all weapons have CQB sights, because the weapon models aren't set up correctly. Any M16/M4/G36/most of the XM8s/MGs with M145/++ have cqb modes, but most, if any, of the russian stuff doesn't.

3: At least one person in the chopper needs the proper rope from the rope box in his inventory, and him and only him can deploy the rope. After the rope is deployed, anyone can select fastrope from the action menu to fastrope. The pilot can release the fastrope. Note that crew, including door gunners, can't fast rope.

I'm not sure what the AI behaviour is.

4: Don't know, report it on the bug tracker.

5: Ropes are used for fast roping. The sling rope, or what it's called, is used to sling cargo under helicopters (requires the RAV lifter module to be placed in the mission)

It might not necessarily be a bug with ACE. Are you running any other addons in conjunction with ACE, as there could possibly be a conflict somewhere (either with ACE and one or more addons, or more likely its just a piss-poorly coded weapon addon conflicting with everything).
