Jungle - would you rather FPS or Thickness?

  1. 1. Jungle - would you rather FPS or Thickness?

    • I would rather the jungle be thick, regardless of bad performance.

    • I would rather the jungle have high[er] FPS: sacrifice the thickness.

Looking stunning mate!

Looks nice so far, but I suggest you change the name into something more memorable and pronounceable.

This.

From a Brit who has no clue about that Russian language... How do you pronounce the island name?

Looks real nice mate. Gave me feelings of Ghost Recon Island Thunder (although that was in green jungles).

I agree with Buzz_Fledderjohn about the name btw, no clue how and what to pronounce :)

Boy I hope that video took place at night. If that were noon you may have too much foliage going on there. Looks great but there is no indication of the size. Can you give us some rough estimates of the islands diameter or square Kilometerage?

How would you search it?

OK, quick update for now, some more screens and the name is changed from Cyrillic to "Razoreniya".

The performance should be pretty good, though the jungle is mighty thick so it might get a bit hairy in there :)

This map looks beyond awesome!

I really hope there are a few well developed towns though. :/

Awesome map, it kinda looks like crisis in one of those pics, that's insane.

A minor setback, my third and final mouse died :( I'm just back from soldering my first one into usability, so work can continue on the jungles of Razoreniya.

Current Jungle:

The jungle needs thickening and some different ground clutter, but it's coming alone ok.

Wow, have you tried fighting AI in there?

Could be the most challenging fight EVER.

The light is creating some nice effects, the scenery is beautifull!

The jungle is almost perfected now, it's still too thin to be "real" jungle, but that isn't possible for performance and gameplay reasons.

It's AI tested and working, and yes, they annihilate you in there :)

Looks amazing LJF. The way you have the vegetation clutter is making it look very natural. Great work.

Since my pc crapped out on me i installed Deer Hunter 2005 on my second shit pc and fired up the editor and started creating an island. Trying to make it as natural looking as possible so im down to placing trees and bushes plus different textures by hand. :) Takes hours and hours but got damn it looks natural and realistic. Im guessing its what your doing too as automated clutter plotting wont make it look that good. :)

Good luck finishing it!
