Absolutely amazing, totally sicko.... its time to install now TS3 finally.... you guys are all so awesome! Thank you a 1000 times for this.... finally proper communication is possible inside BI Games.... WOW WOW WOW!!!!

uhm already told about that you know:

As said already, it is working without ACE2. But you will be not able to use Long Range Radio. Only Short Range one and direct speak.

Depends on how you like to play Arma2 of course... For me and many others ACE2 offers massive of realism (and thus gameplay never seen before) and massive new possibilities. It also fixes a lot of BI mistakes and design flaws and whatnot else....

I actually know no-one who would say ACE2 is making Arma2 "worse" or something into a negative direction.

Although, it is not final yet. I am awaiting the final release before passing judgment on it.

There is no doubt - it adds some incredible things, and is the product of a huge effort, and deserves praise. But, it does have some drawbacks and introduces some elements that some people find takes away from the ArmA experience.

It is a matter of taste. I am glad that you enjoy it so much. Please recognize that others do not. There is no One Ring of ArmA gameplay.

SnR, unless they rehaul their system, it cannot be done, the actions are tied, its not key based, but those action are trigger able by short cuts.

Status Update: The re-haul is complete, been testing with Noubernou, we've opened a mini sub-team working on it outside of ACE lest we get backing. It will include radio signal propagation and enhanced compatibilities with ACE.

A little sneak peak as to the terrain profiling to determine signal strength. A side image of Utes.

The script is now down to 4, with only 1 loop, and all are functions, increasing benchmarked performance by over 500%.

I thank you all for your emails, and we are looking at them all for ideas, we are also including the feature by .lip mouth movements when speaking to increase immersion.

We are also including re-trans around appropriate vehicles, not just having to be inside them.

Integration with a proper aircraft traffic controller, both in the tower and aircraft is being looked into, and we have the support of the 3rdMD for testers and help.

Stay tuned, as this is just a bunch of random features from a very big conversation.

One of the most talked about Addons for a while well done.

Can you please remove the scroll options as we have all master the binded keys. As your aware ACE config features can take up a few lines already, then add mission specifics it becomes a mouse wheel nightmare

Sorry but when we see what ACE guys are doing, we don't want to lose our time to improve our addon. Consider our addon as a "preview" which will not be updated anymore.

We are looking to have this in ACE. Since it requires a TS3 part of the plugin, not much sense to make it mission side if included in ACE as it will be downloaded with @ACE. Though I cant say for sure, that comes down to the devs on this and the ACE team I guess.

I have a group of guys from the 3rdMD with various military background with communication use as Rommel stated above working with him, Nou, and a few others on the development. I am also working to get some input from some RL buddies who are communications specialist in my Military Police Unit (as I am a MP, ARNG). Hopefully some information from them (that does not violate OPSEC will prove helpful as well).

Also the 3rdMD is running this current mod almost (but not completely) as as must have if your in our TS3. Thank you Sulu for being more clear on versions, much thanks. We now upload these files to our TS3 so people can download it!

We have just played with it for 3 hours, but all of a sudden it stops working. No matter if we reconnect on TS. :(

It seems that people in the TS channel WITHOUT the addon hear everything. Can you check it pls.

The addon send the 3D data to the plugin, without addon you can't make the 3D sound work.

An other solution is to make a mission side script, no more addon needed (but you still need the plugin)

Johnson(sulu_03) made a command to see who does not have the addon or the plugin, don't remember how he does...

I think he changes a variable to true but don't remember the name...

Please do not change this! We want people that don't have the plugin to hear everyone. This is the only way for us to have Aircorps together with Infantry at the moment.

Why? Because aircorps needs to be on a different channel than infantry, and if they want to contact our HQ they need to switch to his channel, and that can not be done in mid air because all the controls get locked when you access the radio.

Why? Because aircorps needs to be on a different channel than infantry, and if they want to contact our HQ they need to switch to his channel, and that can not be done in mid air because all the controls get locked when you access the radio.

Our pilots use the system. Preset your radio freqs so its a quick change mid flight, doesn't take to long to change a freq, even without presets, or fly with a second pilot who will contact the ground. We have two channels in our public server. One for those running the mod which is locked and only open to those who download and we verify are running the mod, and the others who do not yet have it.

Bandwidth maybe? ArmA´s seem to use a more of it than TS.

But I may be wrong...

Well frankly the in game VON is horribly inconsistent as well as inflexible. The advantages of moving it into something where the mod makes have total control on implementation allows for much more realistic, useful, and effective use of communications.

On that note I am looking into the FMOD system in the TS3 plugin architecture and it seems to have a lot to offer, including multi-positioning sounds in 3D space (having the same sound come from multiple places) and better channelization of radio communications on the network/sound output level.

For example, it looks like there is the possibility to provide an individual audio channel per radio device where you can independently apply audio effects such as 3D positioning, delay, noise, reverb, etc.

This truly is completely and utterly brilliant!

VON is a great feature of ArmA2 (the lip sync adds a lot of immersion) but the sound quality never was particularly great. Replacing and enhancing it with TS3 is an ingenious move! Can't wait for the next version!

Started to look into this with Johnson too.

But actually I'm rebuilding the plugin from scratch. I use Qt now, no more loops to check the clipboard... using events. Will add much more functions too.

We already tried to add the Doppler effect....useless, can't hear the difference in normal conditions :p

Teamspeak 3 is definitely awesome ! :yay:

Can't wait for real ArmA 2 Inputs/Outputs !
