Looking good!

I am extremely pleased that this is going to be based on an actual existing terrain; which overally should result in a completely believable location;the current status is very satisfactory!

Attention to detail and already shown wip-screens let asume that this is going to be a true keeper!

Do you guys consider throwing some planks across those ditches maybe?

http://cryptome.org/info/afpak-archive/afpak-fun-06r-15.jpg

or other types of 'crossing'?

PS; the cementary I wasn't able to comment on yet will be a nice touch; looks promising ;)

Arb...if you need help with textures let me know....even if you just pm me the flat texture i can work on it, blend it with other textures, tile it or just add dirt.

I also can usually find some decent enviro textures and I can get pics of almost any kind of concrete you need...(don't ask). lol

Try a different piece of software my friend, to be honest o2 isnt the best when it comes to unwrapping models, im using Modo at the moment and its great for unwrapping, theres also headus http://www.uvlayout.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=38 which is great for unwrapping things and not a bad price too! If you dont fancy paying just try the method the guys have said for unwrapping by starting of with a basic model like a box, it is time cosuming although o2 can auto unwrap to a certain degree if the model isnt too complex...

With the help of rksl rock i managed to unwrap a basic cube but i dont even know where to start with more complex designs

I always think of that object being in your hands and being made out of card, also try and make a model with the uv unwrap in mind, it really helps to keep things simple. Did Rock show you the Break key which takes the faces off? If the model is too complex split it up into less complex shapes and work with that!

What you mean you dont want the Typhoon, Tornado and Harrier?

On topic.... Dark's uv mapping saga has inspired me to start writing a proper tut again.

arb...working on that texture...trying to get it not to be too repetitive, at the mo it looks like its going to be, any chance u cud send me a sho of the mesh with the texture applied by itself or even better the mesh itself?

Hows it coming along arb?

Progress has slowed down a bit to be honest. Weathers too good to be stuck in front of a pc, plus been celebrating my football team winning the championship. :)
