DieterWeber 0 Posted February 9, 2010 Utter Failure. RIP GR. Cloaking devices, wow.
Zipper5 73 Posted February 9, 2010 Wow, they looked like... What were those things from The Lord of the Rings? Nazgul? Yes, that was it. Epic failure. Sad to see Ubisoft do this to both Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. At least Splinter Cell: Conviction looks decent.
Richey79 10 Posted February 9, 2010 Well, GRIN have gone now (I'm sure that many will say they deserved it, but I quite liked their GRAW games), so presumably an in-house UBI team will be porting the console game to PC. I can't imagine this will turn out well. Let's hope it's not entirely from third person perspective like the two console GRAW games.
HyperU2 11 Posted February 9, 2010 I loved GRAW (still do), GRAW 2 was just ok. Now it appears over.
Whiskey_Tango 10 Posted February 9, 2010 so the us started hiring predator to fight wars now??
dmarkwick 259 Posted February 9, 2010 Everyone wants to be first to do something second :) In this case, Crysis was first ;)
sic-disaster 291 Posted February 9, 2010 Oh dear god, what have they done? And i thought they hit rock-bottom with the Advanced Warfighter games... This is a new fucking low for the series. Ghost Recon 1 forever! When watching this trailer i could only think 'i hope this is some freaking 4chan joke', but it's real... Any hope of GR getting back to it's roots is destroyed forever. Fuck you Ubisoft...
Takko 10 Posted February 9, 2010 I loved GRAW 1+2, disliked the previous parts
sanctuary 16 Posted February 9, 2010 This is a new fucking low for the series.Ghost Recon 1 forever! Indeed, the original Ghost Recon is always one of the best tactical combat game i play that feature "believable" level of realism despite the use of some prototype weapons (but that existed at least) to add the nice immersion touch to the various missions and campaigns. But a predator-like optical distorsion field ? Really ? Maybe they will add some laser blasters too and maverick missiles in the back, after all "the future soldier is like a F16" according to their ads :D
CameronMcDonald 143 Posted February 9, 2010 ENEMY HELO! GR 1 would be spinning in its grave, if they'd ever produced a sequel worthy of its name.
foxhound 1937 Posted February 9, 2010 Cant believe they still bother to call it Ghost Recon. Loved OGR but stepped aside when GRAW was announced to move to a much better series :D
Aeneas2020 10 Posted February 9, 2010 I used to have some deal of respect for tom clancy (despite his girly arms and his instance on wearing short sleeved shirts)...but he has totally sold out over the last few years. This trailer looks like a horrible POS trying to trade off of the success of crysis.
4 IN 1 0 Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) If i remember correctly, UBI brought the right to use Tom Clancy name in some of the games, and he havent take part in the development of the game with his name on it for quite some time. Eventhrough I personally think that optical camo aint that unrealistic at all, but its still a long time to go before it become real. Shadow NX 1 Posted February 10, 2010 Brings a tear to my eye full of saddness when i compare this crap to the adrenaline rush when i commanded my ghost teams trough the GUM warehouse to the red square fighting extremely well researched russians ( kudos to Roman Stephanov ) in GR1. Wonder if this constant killing of classics ( be it movies or games ) will ever end :/
cozza 16 Posted February 10, 2010 :(:( I remember playing GR1 and R6:RS back in the day and how I loved them. now I cant bear to look at whats happened to them.

Barely-injured 0 Posted February 10, 2010 sigh..... is there any rich person around here who is willing to buy the names Ghost recon, Rainbow six, and operation flashpoint from their respective abusers so that the rest of the community can stop boiling with anger every time an abomination comes out attached to those names. bangtail 0 Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) Ubisuck strikes again! Cheers for putting the final nail in the coffin of a once great franchise  Edited February 10, 2010 by BangTail
Whiskey_Tango 10 Posted February 11, 2010 the bad thing is that if a once great title ever goes back to its roots after alienating its communities release after release is that noone will still be around to care
SD_BOB 10 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Sorry for the below caps... JUST REMAKE THE ORIGINAL GHOST RECON FFS!!!! Original game, same concept. Just updated graphics, some new maps (include updated versions of the originals aswell). That would make me very happy. Castle Night, 8 v 8 squad match. Some of the best and most adrenalin pumping action ive had on a pc game, especially when your the last one left alive on you team. All this future war fighting technology is just stupid. Prydain 1 Posted February 11, 2010 A lot of hate, no understanding. Ubisoft may be jumping up and down over a brand that many people love but do we really need to care as much as some people in this thread seem to? They are a company, lets not get worked up about them trying to make money.

Should you really accept it every time it happens? Let them get away with it every single time? It's that attitude that doesnt change a thing. Getting angry about it may not do much either, but at least it's better then standing idly by and let it happen.

After all even GRAW was enjoyable to some people (not me), obviously not as a proper GR game but as a separate game with its own merits, which is why the name thing is frustrating. So you have to put make believe idiotic things into a game to make money now? I am positive that they would make more money if it was simple and to the point like the old ghost recons were....even rainbow 6 vegas wasnt too over the top and it sold well on consoles because it was simple
11aTony 0 Posted February 12, 2010 I have just seen the trailer and I really cant judge much since its not much shown but I still wonder... Does Tom Clancy have any idea what is ubi doing or are they just living on good old name. I mean GRAW was... great graphics, movment, physics but somehow it didnt feel right. GRAW 2 was dumb down even more and was too console like game. I still dont understand why they removed certain type of bullet penetration like you couldnt kill 2 dudes with one shot using .50 cal or trough brich wall. Biggest problem of GRAW1/2 is that it is so damn boring. Campaign would be total shit without the effects and videos (yeah I like that cheezy "Scott we are patching you in with the white house" videos:)). I got tired of MP PvP after a month. Only thing I played online was coop. That was pretty cool. Bottom of line is that it was a good game but not amazing like that first tittles. Just like Vegas. I really hope this one will be epic. I dont mind a bit of crysis in it but I fear UBI lost touch for making games.
