Recommended Posts

Only belgian special forces uses the F2000, the regular forces and Para's still uses the FN-Fal,

Think vilas his P85 pack have a nice Fal plus it got some great sound aswell, but here are others around 2

yeah that 85 vilas pack has G3's, but anyway Belgian special forces sound nice and the F2000 also sounds Very nice, but what would be very nice

is for them to put a lot of different variants of the FAL, some with a magnifying scope??? or some really awesome customs --> http://www.dsarms.com/

The FFAA Fals actually come in a great number of varieties that I have included with the belgians. Vilas' pack is nice but was a pain in the butt trying to get to work in the config with the belgians. Because of that i'll just ask FFAA if I can have their weapons pack as a required addon for these guys. I can't see why they would say no it means more downloads for them.

Icebreakr has some for his Slovenian units mate. :)

Didn't know that i'll drop the ice man a pm.

I hope you don't mind me saying it, but I thought the fnc was the standard assault rifle of the belgian armed forces...

Anyway superb textures as usual Aeneas :)

What about FNCs ? Aren't they used by regular infantry?

SFP OFP mod had very good swedish versions of it. Maybe it's possible to convert their AK5 to FNC?

Perhaps...maybe i'll just release these guys (as they are just CDF reskins) with the FALs as a requirement when i'm at home this weekend. That way if people want to try and convert belgian weapons for them or something they can go ahead. Then maybe we (i.e. myself and the weapons guy) could do a joint release and update them a little. I really don't want to get into a full blown Belgian army mod right now lol.

I may quote myself?

All sorts of FN x weapons are part of Project 85:

FN FNC

FN FAL (wood)

FN FAL Para

FN FAL (black plastic)

FN FAL Marksman

FN MINIMI

FN MAG

So, the FNC is in it, too.

If you need help getting them into your config, I'd be glad to help you (If you want to include them at all, that is).

Cheers,

D.

Wrong, they use the FN FNC and the F2000, 2 per section equipped with GL's.

And ofcourse the minimi (para-version for the Para-Commando's).

They have webbings made by Seyntex and for foreignops they are equipped with MOLLE vest (Bear II by NFM).

Para-commandos wear MICH helmets and regular forces Hubert (pasgt like helmet).

You can find many recent photograps in this thread:

(and previous pages)

PS: I used to work on a Belgian mod for OFP. A fellow member named JanMasterson made a nice FNC model, I believe he is still on this forum perhaps if you contact him you can use his FNC.

Yes indeed the belgian army uses the FNC now, they changed from the FN-Fal to the FNC in the mid 80's and there planning to change from FNC to F2000 by 2015,

Aeneas did a great job so far and I am glad to see some belgian units in arma!

And yeah, the camo is a bit weird. I've seen much worse, though. :D

I can remember seeing Belgian Army Units at the TrÃœbPl Heuberg (Stetten am kalten Mark) a few years ago.

All guys in my company getting really confused looking at this camo... :D

IIRC they looked much more saturated, maybe they had very new uniforms. I think after some wash they will look like the ones in the pictures here.

Good to have the Belgian Army in ArmA2 !

Hmmm can someone get me some decet refs of the webbing? Also is that ballistics vest i see in some of the photos? If it is i guess ill have to go back to the drawing board and do all new models for these guys lol :S.

Also thanks for the kind comments. In regards to saturation. I have noticed these uniforms tend to suffer quite a lot of fade after use so I have tried to get my guys to reflect this....this is just from the refs i have however. Also when i gave the guys a brand new heavily saturated camo they glowed like xmas trees in game.

No problem! You could also use the current version you have as a 90's version :)

Yeh not a bad idea...initially i just wanted to do the woodland guys but your refs have inspired me to do the desert ones also...you dont have a decent ref for the desert camo do you? A flat repeating swatch would be nice

Not immediatly at hand. I can ask my mate if he has any piece of desert clothing left from his time in Afghanistan but I believe he had to turn it all in.

Ok finally got my comp to my new (temporary) place lol. So i've been beavering away this evening at all my old projects. I scrapped my old belgians entirely and started on a new set with the dutch soldiers i did as a base. Here are the results. I have done a number of varieties but have basically included two torso types. The ballistic vest type and the "tactical" vest type (i.e. the one in the firt few links that were posted above). I have also completely reworked the temperate camo and done some desert guys. Binkowski is a little away at the moment so for now i'm just editing the models in a very basic fashion and doing most of my work with textures and normal maps (as he is my model monkey). Anyway here are the results. (still need to add vilas' weapons if dimitri is still up for it).

belgianwipinternalbeta9.th.jpg

belgianwipinternalbeta9.th.jpg

p.s. my demo version of crazybump ran out so im having to make normal maps in photoshop (which i hate to do) if anyone knows of a free program similar to crazybump i'd die for it right now.

p.p.s. i may tweak the helmet a little (i havent included any webbing on purpose just because im too lazy to). But i might but in the new helmet cover type lines especially around the rim depending on how easy it is to do. :) tomorrow that is.

Yes, I am. And you'll also like to hear that Vilas just started to rework his FN family to meet ArmA2 standards, and he will release them in a stand-alone Western Weapons addon (VERY soon. Frist version of the pack has already been finished).
