great to see more variety (more countries) in Arma :)

Sweden has very characteristic and uniqe camo pattern, i remember OFP Swedish addons, it is nice to see Swedish addons work in progress :)

more European countries addons please and carry on

Totally agree! I really hope we can manage to give the same impression with our work as the real stuff :) Still a lot to do though!

And btw, thank you very much for the permission to use your weapon-models! Your KSP90, KSP90b and KSP58 will be included in the Beta1 next week. You've been added to the credits!

Is there any good islands to play? An island that resembles the swedish "skärgård"?

Iam making a Russian attacks campaign but need a good map. Podgarosk seems good, but inland theres no militarybases or airbases.

Dude, that's what I've dreamed about since the day ArmA2 came out :D Fighting off a russian invasion in our archipelagos would be so awesome! If such a map ever got released, there would defenitely be boats modelled asap! And of course some swedish traditional red or yellow houses for decoration ;) I hope you find what you're looking for!

Looking forward to the beta!

And about islands. Podagarosk definatelly works, but also Japahto wich is like an empty skärgård hehe. Not to talk about upcoming Thirsk Island wich seems to come in summer & winter version and is based of northern Finlad - wich looks like northern Swedish fauna.

I think Podagorsk is probably the best bet if you want to boat around.. At least it isn't 'just ocean' around the map, but quite a few small islands along the coast.

Also, SSG, or the people who make our missions doesn't really like making missions on other maps than Chernarus because they feel they have too many bugs. We tried a campaign on CAA1, and me and Mr. Bravo where playing recon. Sniping was hopeless, because we where hitting the ground even though there wasn't any there(wtf). And sometimes our enemies would disappear as they lied down etc..

And if anyone thought so, I'm not on the SAM team, but at least that could explain to some extend why boats aren't being prioritized much.. Since 'we' only play on Cherno for the most part, where there are no rivers, or other interesting watery places to put them except a large ocean..

Good stuff. Are you collaborating with the SFP team in any way? I haven't checked them out since ArmA1, but I recall seeing that they did some work for ArmA2 as well. Seems like a waste of resources and time to be doing two similar projects from scratch up. :)

If you read in the forums of ssg-clan.se and anrop.se you'll see the reason for two seperate mods. That is if you're able to read the language of neutrality and hard dry bread ;)

Are you sure this is a map bug? There was a new feature added (patch 1.5 I think), where people far away who are hidden in the grass (which is not visible at that distance) will appear to sink down into the ground and disappear to stop you from seeing them when you should not be able to.

Anyway, using Stridsbåt 90 on Panthera would be nice, that island has a river running quite far through it and some islands along the coast. Not to mention it's undoubtedly the most beautiful map around.

1) It was desert

2) It wasn't on Chernarus, but CAA1 map

3) It was 1.4

So no, I don't think that was it.

Nope they're doing their own thing. You can follow their blog at anrop.se

Two of us used to work with the ArmA2-version of SFP, but left it around christmas to create something new instead. I dont want to make this thread another "SFP vs SAM"-discussion, but what I will say is that the only thing that these two mods have in common is that they both contain swedish stuff. Other than that they are quite different in all aspects of development, content and priorities. There's really nothing for us to use from there, since everything is too graphically outdated anyway.

There's no competition between us though, and you should be able to play with both mods at the same time if you want to use content from both. They will for example have a lot more vehicles than us to start with.

Nah, doesnt have anything to do with the patch. The LOD was all messed up, and even vehicles could slip through the ground in the distant. Works great in close combat though!

But okay, there might be some map with fairly good use of water :p But unless someone decides to model the boats for us right away, it will probably take a while before we consider making them ourselves. Ground-vehicles are naturally a top priority after the soldiers :)

Anyways, we've made a short video to demonstrate the AK5c a little closer. Slightly pornographic to some people I might add! :D

Combat boat 90 FTW. :) That one would be sweet although tons of details on it. Animated front and be able to take units for fast island deployment. Oh that would be very schweet.

Well since you registration process on clan ssg forum is one of the most annoying i have ever seen i guess i will have to post here then.

As far as i know our dear Swedish military have never used ACOGs. To my humble knowledge they have Aimpoint 3x for their optics.

ACOG is used for the NLAW/RB57 (ATGM), but not for small arms. And the aimpoint sights have no magnification.

So that is the magnification device we use in sweden??

hard to find good images of it beeing used by someone.

but it would be nice to have to.

I think it went something like this:

Originally they where supposed to replace the old scopes HV uses for their AK4s and then the army wanted them and then maybe NBG tried to 'borrow' them so now they are sitting in storage while the bureaucrats figure things out.

Ergo, if they´re not issued, then they are not being used. They won´t replace the old scopes for the AK4 as those scopes are going to be re-issued with modified clamps so they fit onto the rail on the reciever.

You makes not any sense man.

Why complain about tinges i never said. I never said they ARE issued, I never said they WILL replace the Hensoldt scope. I said we dont have or wont have any ACOGs.

But ACOG´s ARE used on the NLAW mate. If you have a look at pictures of the thing on the Swedish armed forces´ website, you will see that they are indeed equipped with ACOG´s, just not for small arms. Yes, the magnification module will be issued for small arms weapons eventually. Does THAT make sense?

No it does not. Do you take a hacksaw and cut your 2x ACOG of you MBT-LAW/NLAW/RB57 on witch it is a integrated component supplied as a part of said weapon system and mount it on your rifle?

ACOGS ARE NOT ISSUED TO SWEDISH SOLDERS FOR USE ON RIFLES! THE ONLY ACOG USED BY THE SWEDISH ARMED FORCES IS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT IN AN UNRELATED WEAPON SYSTEM.

It is not issued as an ACOG or bought as an ACOG. It is integrated by saab in said weapon system after a lowest bidder wins contest that trijicon won. It is included as a component of that weapon system.
