EBass 0 Posted April 7, 2002 Just interested, as today I had the coolest moment ever. A few of us were playing against a clan. They had one SERIOUS sniper dude In a belltower. He pinned the whole squad down behind a dead ural. I gave the go and we all popped out and just totally OPENDED up on the tower. I then got my LAW out and fired into the window. The building crumpled and the sniper was dead. I love the teamplay in multiplayer with real "action moments" U ever see Full metal jacket? The belltower dissolved in bullet holes like when they were blindly shooting at the sniper
Maddock 0 Posted April 8, 2002 Without a doubt teamwork in a coop (even if it's a team capture a flag or deathmatch) is the best OFP experience for me. I find it unfortunate that it's so hard to find people that believe the same on-line. I know there is coop play out there, it's just rare that people take the time to plan and work together (and see a mission through, even if half the team are dead). My most recent on-line coop experience (last night). Was team leader of a squad of 9. Advancing ahead of the team to plan positions and coordinate the attack, snipers stayed back to take up positions. After throwing my first grenade at the advancing forces I was quickly dispatched by a single round to the back of the head.....friendly fire from my sniper. Hard to image when in cadet, in a coop mission (no human enemy). Not exactly the best example, but an example none the less. Reason enough to join the peace corps. Major Fubar 0 Posted April 8, 2002 That huge noggin of yours catching bullets again madock? But seriously, in online play it's very hard to get teamwork going. Often in the startup screens while a mission is loading, we'll use team chat to discuss a strategy. But when the game actually starts, whether it's coop or team CTF, people will just run around like headless chickens (one of these kids is doing his own thing!), often taking vehicles or weapons for themselves that had already been assigned according to the plan. Not to mention own kills by being run over by vehicles or sprays of fire that are pretty indescriminate. But, back to the point of this thread, yes, my favourite thing is teamwork. When I play LAN, nothing is better than getting stuck on a really tough mission, talking it over with the guys, and working up a plan to win. When you win, you really feel like you've achieved something.
