VLC player has a pretty good built-in converter as well.

For recording and editing, Audacity is the superior choice imo.

Yeah Audacity is good, but I can recommend something better.

Format Factory will convert not only one sound format to another, but almost any media format to almost any other media format, and it is much easier than audacity to use...

you know the thing i noticed with Audacity is that it seems to cut out or miss the opening part of the sound file im trying to copy.

ie. "All your base are belong to us" converts to "ase are belong to us"

Any ideas?
