Never having any success flying airplanes in ArmA, I am loving this.

One thing I have noticed and I do not know if this is general, or related to the island of Isla Duala but when the pilot is on foot, the map will not show.

The GPS does.

Will check on a standard island later.

Keep at it.

It's possible the pilot does not have a MAP Item in it's inventory.

The vehicle has the map but not the pilot.

Pilot needs map, bandage and 100 French Franks:) pocket money.

Ju87 Update:

Stuka is operational - plane and rear gunner.

Only thing atm is getting the bombs working properly :(

Don't know if it's me or just Bis bombs. Player is fine but AI are woeful.

Also AI do not get into the groove doing the Stuka Jive with 'Trumpets of Jericho', so more scripting needed there. All time consuming.

loving this big fan of W.W 2 airplanes except parachute overrides for rest of my addons modern pilots use ww2 chute's

Love these! Fantastic work.

Only complaint is the fuel tank life, when I tried it I'd barely get 5 minutes in the air before I was out of fuel. Made for some interesting moments though where I'd have to land while being chased and then bail out of my aircraft as it caught fire on the ground due to strafing runs.

Don't know why there would be this proplem. I do not get much of a chance to play MP.

Maybe you may have to run the 'Eventhandlers init =' from the aircraft's cfg in the respawn script. ? If it worked the first time I would assume it would work again but as I said I know nothing of MP scripting.

Fuel last for a long time, well long enough for game usage.

Using WEP will burn duel much faster or if you get hit in the fuel tank then you have about 7 seconds to bail out.

i don't use respawn script, i defined respawning in description.sqf. I thought that wings is other objeckts, but havent idea how to attach them to plane after respawn:-\ Planes after respawn can fly, but without wings, it looks like funny:-D They have shadows, you can hit them, but you can see them:-D

Debut:

Ju87 with working rear gunner.

Note:

Even though it performs well, the rear gun turret is an addition to the aircraft, it is not a turret defined within the aircraft cfg.

Do not expect it to fully function as if it was - Yet.

I was hoping to have a heavy bomber ready for this release as well

but workload/time did not permit this.

Made several chnages to all models of which the main changes have been

listed in the Change Log.

Hi CSJ - love your addons - all of them so a big thankyou there...

Just an observation, you might want to consider removing the swatstika from the tail rudder on JU as the symbol is banned (illegal) in Germany - not an issue for me but as a brit I like flying the spitfire & hurricane - our German friends will probably want to fly the german planes & it may put some of 'em off making use of your great addons - It could also prevent German fan/clan sites such as www.Armed-Assault.de & www.assaultmissionstudio.de etc, from legally hosting the addon or showing a picture of it. Be a shame to deny it to some of the Arma community which traditionionally has a such a great record for sharing. Only reason I mention this is 'coz I saw this point raised on another thread about the German WW2 stormtrooper addon when someone was asking why the symbol wasn't on the helmets.

On another note - really looking forward to the heavy bombers - any chance of a Lancaster? - there appears to be a model up for grabs - see thread over at SimHQ -

Lots of good pics of the current state of the model there. Thread was posted by Loki (jnr SimHQ member) on 04/03/09 - don't know if this is same Loki of LostKey/mushroom kingdom fame but basically it reads as follows;

Must admit - I know jack about modelling so I couldn't say if this is compatible with Arma2 - but if it is and it's the same Loki should be fairly easy to get hold of (for permissions & model) as he is active on the Armaholic forums?? Then again maybe you already have one?

Funny thing is I enjoy making the models. I seriously do not enjoy working on other peoples work though I am happy to help them complete their work.

if you respawn planes in multiplayer mission, planes hasn't wings after respawn. They can fly, but it look like strange...
