There will be ever a release ?? :D

Good things take time as we hope to get them as bug free as possible.

Also you will be amazed about how many animations and features / scripts the thing has.

Currently Readmes ( which already are a piece of art thanks to Soul Assassin ) are getting finished which is the last step as far as i can see...

I perfectly understand. I meant that all we see is much stuff altogether and i was wondering if you were pointing more to a complete addon than a mod.

Don't take my post too seriously: it was more an appreciation of what we've seen so far in these screenshots.

Glad to hear you are on the final phase of the work if i understood well...

Hehe, not for this pack but we have something in the works since nearly 2 years now that will also include this tanker once its done... the question is when that will be but definatly it will be highest quality.

Actually few pics that have been posted here show a soldier pack but currently base human model is being remodelled again so we use a 100% custom human model as base which now needs have many things like pouches and vests etc adjusted.

Basicly everything is modelled in a very high poly way like the tanker on my avatar and later we bake our normals from it which should give a similar result to BIS units in quality however its extremely time consuming.

So there is not even a wild guess on any relase date for these troops.

Final plan is VDV, Naval Infantry, Mot.Rifle and maybe some special forces or at least some recons.

About the BTR-70, as said its basicly done but the new patch forces us to do some extra bug hunting and fixing so its delayed a bit again.

Awesome sounds sweet... Allways enjoyed the RHS packs.... Are you guys gonna be adding a thermal signature for the BMP packs? Anyway thanks for all the effort guys I know a lot of us lovve these packs...

Questions:

When we have people riding in the top of the APC, the turret will be locked? (clipping..)

The release will be a full pack or many separated addons?

the turret will not lock. Clipping will happen. Thats just the way it is (the way the engine is built), we didnt see it as a reason not to include this feature though. Somehow locking the turret while someone is sitting though would also would have been stupid. What if you cant control them and they refuse to get off? Then the BTR is effectively useless. BTW the cargo system is optional.

The release will consist of 3 things: an updated RHS Decals, the brand new RHS Cargosystem (riders) and RHS BTR 70. The reason for releasing cargosystem seperately is because we plan to develop it seperately to include support for all vanilla ArmA2 vehicles. The beuty of it is that it can be applied to any vehicle without any editing of that vehicle (config or model)

Great work guys.

Its one PBO for the BTRs and two additional ones for a universal cargo / tankrider system ( that will later include some BIS vehicles ) and one for the decals.

The decals and cargosystem are made in a way that will allow other addonmakers to use these aswell and believe me there are many many decals in this pack.

About locking the gun, saddly no, we tried but found no way to make the AI stop moving the gun when riders are on the BTR.

Also theres a bug that you can see through some things when riding but that is a thing BIS has to fix as its engine related, however we made it so that its hard to see when you sit on the BTR so it wont bother players much.

Will the gun be locked when the crew is "turned out" or in the safe mode? I think in RL nobody will stay on an APC once the fighting has begun, so no clipping in the safe mode would be good enought for me. :)

Sure, but isn't the gun also locked, when the rest of the crew turns out?

the btr doesnt have anyone turning out :) (although the hatches are openable) There is some kind of bug in the engine which messes up turning out for commanders on wheeled vehicles who's turrets are not connected to the main turret. And having the driver turn out would just look weird through the window :)

Thanks for the fast replies guys!

This clipping issue is something that BIS should look at. Using the T72 in A2 and beign able to clip through those little tanks in the back with the barrel turns me off. :p

Not game breaking, of course.
