BattleMoose87 10 Posted January 14, 2010 I recently reinstalled ArmA 2 after a break of 5 months. I decided to leave it for a while so it gets the major bug fixes applied. Upon return I am glad to see the real ArmA 2 I was expecting. Even when things weren't going right at launch for me, I still appreciated the game for it's scope and the developers vision in creating such an immersive world. Last night I was messing around in the editor. I spawned myself as a sniper on a small hill and put a squad of riflemen on one of the airstrips about 800m away (I'm not good with distances). Upon firing I watched as the first soldier dropped from a direct headshot. Two of his squadmates ran over and looked at the corpse lying there. A second later they both sought cover in an embankment, with another getting prone and suppressing me. I fought valiantly, and ensured I kept moving when prone after firing off a shot or two. In the heat of battle I got so engrossed that two more troops managed to flank and kill me. This was my first 'Wow!' moment with Arma 2, from watching the bullet react to real world physics on it's approach to the enemy, to the reaction of the AI and it's cunning. Thanks BIS for being so dedicated, and congratulations on creating such a good experience.
dmarkwick 261 Posted January 14, 2010 I agree. I mentioned a couple of weeks back that ArmA2 has reached that "sweet spot" of awesome gameplay. I mean, I always thought that ArmA2 was the best of the bunch, but recently it's really become massively fantastic.
guiltyspark 10 Posted January 14, 2010 Really if bohemia had launched arma with just a bit more content and alot less bugs with better optimization i would be willing to bet it would be nominated for pc game of the year
Grizzle 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Agreed. What's even more amazing is that you don't even have to actually play the game to enjoy it. Many times I'll just build a mission, set myself as a civilian, then run around and just watch the ensuing carnage.

Leopardi 0 Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) If they could nail the campaign like in CWC, Arrowhead could receive GOTY reviews. Edited January 16, 2010 by Leopardi
