Some guys not selectable via F keys

Would there be any (intended) reason why certain soldiers are not selectable via the corresponding F key, but still can be selected on the map (via the quick command/space bar method), including giving them commands?

I had two pilots that were with my fire team (...no idea if they were my own original guys, or reinforcements, or what), but even though they appeared on my fire team face icon list (bottom left) with F keys assigned on them (F7 and F9), they would not highlight when I pressed the F key (but COULD be selected via the map and quick command... and would carry out the orders fine).

Is there some situation that would result in this, or is this a bug?

Make sure you don't have any other programs running that might trap key presses. TrackIR comes to mind as one thing that can trap key presses and not send them to the game if you have it configured that way.

I have the same thing, because im using TrackIR.

But you can select those members by pressing shift key and the F key

at the same time. (Shift+F7)

That sounds like your TrackiR keys. Just remap your trackIR keys will do. I usually map the pause key to the optics key so that trackir is paused when you bring your sights up. You don't want to have to try to hold your head steady when aiming...hahahah. Then map the precision key to your zoom key (right mouse key).

For ArmA2 use, I remapped TIR recenter functionality to the Pause key. Works very well, doesn't clash with anything ingame. As I have no use for disabling TIR ingame, I just don't use that functionality at all, freeing up the other F key that's bound to it.

Good theory... and I DO have TrackIR... but in my case, only the F12 button is used by it (centers it). The F keys that I'm referring to USUALLY work... just sometimes there are team members I can't select.

In the last instance, it was the F7 and F9 key... but again, they SOMETIMES worked.

I was just wondering if there's ever a situation where one of the team members (shown along the bottom) wouldn't be selectable (as far as a reason within the game).

I'll look into it further, including testing out your theory.

F7, F9 & F12 are the default keybinds for controlling TIR.

Change those 3 in your TIR profile, (use the drop down box & button on right of it to choose another key) and your problem will go away.
