Bakos 10 Posted January 9, 2010 Hello everyone. I'm a new user so i don't know any sort of slang. I don't normally use the internet except for games. As the title says, Target Artillery option not working. This means that nomatter how high, or how low i target a D-30, or M119 A1 howitzer, it STILL doesn't show the option called "Target Artillery". I tried changing my class to Charlie team mortar specialist, engineer, and alpha team leader, And STILL no option. Is there any class i have to be and anything i have to do to use this option? It worked for the past few days, then just yesterday when trying to show a friend, POOF, nothing showed up. If ANYONE out there knows the answer, please PLEASE, help me. I would really like to get back to supporting my troops on the battlefield, but i cant do that if i don't have proper targeting options. Thank you to anyone who answers back, Sincerely, Bakos
dogz 10 Posted January 10, 2010 (edited) you dont say in what form of the game you are playing but you must make sure the "Artillery module" is loaded for that mission. easiest way to demo is to open the editor and load the module and the "static unit" yourself. If you are playing online/user missions it varies, some missions dont allow it. there is the chance that you have somehow borked your keybinds as well... so as long as your menu options scroll/work the same for the other stuff it should work. ps if you did not know bind a key to "Optics" and it will give you the optical sight for direct fire (mouse button does not always work.) I found some info here:http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=93120 Edited January 10, 2010 by dogz
Bakos 10 Posted January 11, 2010 HEY! Thank you for the reply but for the editor part, do i need to just open up the editor, place the "artillery" module on the ground, place myself somewhere on the map, and then just play it normally? or do i need a sync or something? noubernou 77 Posted January 11, 2010 For player controlled artillery you do not need to sync the artillery module to anything. If you plan to script artillery units in the future then each battery needs its own artillery module synced to it and you would process artillery module functions referring to the name you had given the module in the module properties screen. CombatComm 10 Posted February 6, 2010 I suppose this is as good a thread as any for it. I am working on a port of a mission to another island. A feature I am adding is the ability to sight artillery online. I placed the arty module on the map and synced to serveral M119 and D30s. It worked when previewing but when playing the mission online I do not get that option. Is there a server/online thing Im missing here? public variables? thanks
noubernou 77 Posted February 6, 2010 What do you mean sight?
CombatComm 10 Posted February 6, 2010 The target artillery action in the action menu.
noubernou 77 Posted February 6, 2010 Try it with out syncing to any units, or add an additional artillery module that is not synced to anything.
