@ SAS Task Force Black Campaign

This is going to be an all-nighter I suspect. Just finished mission one, good atmosphere, a lot of tension, 3+ hours of crawling, observing and attacking :bounce3:

Briefing of mission 2 also promises to be a good one :cool: Exactly what I'm looking for in ArmA 2 SP!

I have a question about mission 3:

The sniping target is the corrupt police officer right, who's standing left talking the the terrorist leader(?). What I understand from the radio messages with HQ is that I only need to take out the corrupt police officer and let the other guy walk. So I shot the police officer with the gun, he's down, and the task is completed and extraction is the new task, but after 1 minute my teammate says "quick, he's getting away!" and then the mission is failed. So he was not the target? Who is exactly the target? Or can/must I also eliminate the terrorist leader?

zoog my friend, i think you may have spotted an error. thanks pal. Ill get on it. The trigger fires if the group of the police officer, the one with the gun, gets to a certain point away from the meeting, so in essence. If you miss and he gets in the car and drives off, its failed. The other police officer must have gotten back in the car and left. Sorry mate. Its a bug my bad. However, you can get around this, by shooting both of the police officers.

I thought about shooting the other police officer too, because he went back in the car, but I had a feeling he was just a pawn of the corrupt one, so essentially an "innocent" officer, and the mission had only 1 target, so I didn't pull the trigger on him :) So far for being mr. nice guy :D

While you're at it, in the briefing of that mission there is a tiny mistake, it says something like "after you've eliminated him, go further west to extraction", but that should be east.

Love the mission though, finally someone who drops you in 4km from the target, let you walk all the way, and places the extraction another 4km from the target. Stuff like that makes it feel authentic, it's what makes a (special forces) mission come alive (for me anyway). I'm loving every second of it :)

I ran into the same thing but I defaulted to killing everyone. We moved to the extraction point and we finished the mission. :)

At the end of Nimrod II, the extraction chopper is bugged and you can't get in it. We love the campaign but can't go any farther! :(

Kool! We loved the campaign....building a story line, etc. makes it a bit more enjoyable. Hopefully your building a TF:Black II. :)

Some things we found:

1. In the briefing/map screen the gear menu is still a bit laggy, especially for the non-hosts.

2. The radio chatter was still very loud even after the update. Sometimes it was okay and then it would get really loud again.

3. Received this error at some point, "cannot load texture combarred\data\ico\bc6_gue_commander_ca.paa"

4. The Team Leader slot was in position 6 for mission Knife Eagle, Black Book & Nimrod II - unless you meant to do that.

5. Mission Ghost Solace, the mission ended before the radio message was finished cutting off the radio message.

Any one else having problems with air support? In 2 missions where you can use air support (mission 2 and 6?) I tried different things to let them drop bombs, but nothing seems to work. I have a laser rangefinder (with batteries), when I order them I have to select a target on the map. I click somewhere and I get a red 'X' and they fly two times over the objective but without dropping anything. Same happens when you're laser targetting the o.bjectives. They just fly over the objective and return to base.

Am I doing something wrong?

It just happens sometimes. I didnt design the script, Draper did. It works for me most of hte time but sometimes the plane just flies over. If your using LGBS you need to paint the target whilst it is flying around.

We had trouble with the air support also. Same issues you were having so we just walked up to the device and set it to self-destruct.

Yeah, I also just took satchel charges with me, also as a back up, makes for nice fireworks

you are unable to get in the extraction chopper, your team mates are also unable to enter it (even if you give them the get in order). Reloaded 3 times but it keeps happening. So I just tried to use the 'endmission' code but this makes ArmA 2 crash. Not a really big problem since it's the end of the campaign, but I don't know if there is any debrief if you go back the HMS?

Awesome campaign though :yay: Thanks a lot, was a great experience. Will definitely replay it very soon :)

What is the endmission code?

hold left shift and press numpad -and then type endmission (you can release the shift button when typing)

(you won't see the letters on screen, but once you finished typing the mission will end).

Does someone find workaround for freezing after dificulty screen? Still got problems with that:(

Edit: I redownloaded all needed addons. Try it with/out ACE. Still can't run this. Does addons needed to load in concrete order?

Just restarted the campaign with v1.5 but now I cannot equip[ my team with satchals in the chinook. I am going to the map/units/gear options but no gear is available.

Anyone else getting this with 1.5?

yes i can't find where to pick up the satchel charges from

I liked that cmpaign very, very much. Now that so many people, like myself use Ace, it would be great to have an optional ace-compatible version. Of course I'm not demanding anything, but it would still be cool.

I'm on the second mission of this campaign and I have to say...that was one of the BEST parachute drops I have done/seen so far in any mission.

It was nice and smooth. Nice textures on the para-glide itself.

No jiggery wobbly shaky nonsense like I've gotten from other mods.

This is truly a masterpeace campaign. Esspecialy with ace addons. Its realistic and there where moments where i had nail bitting experiences. One thing though. After operation silent eye (the sniper mission) i get the infamous ctd followed by invalid crew member civilian message. That sucks because i,m hooked on this one for sure. It must be ace but lets face it its not as cool without ace. Anyway i hope there is more where that came from?

I am at the exact same spot as you except not using ACE.

I have no idea how to continue the campaign unless I get rid of the dreaded

Invalid crew Civilian.

Anybody can help with this? Sucks when you can't finish a damn fine campaign.

OK, problem has been solved.

After doing a search on the forum, found things pointing to Marks HiFi thread.

Method:

I've been using the HiFi addons.

Took HiFi_Air completely out of the line up. Seems to be running fine.

Hope this helps others out.
